When you send out your candidate for the climbers jersey in a breakaway, be sure to win the intermediate mountain sprint. What I have learned, is that in 75% of the races, the first to open the sprint, wins it. (Its obvious that a rider with 80+ MO will beat a rider with 70- MO, so you can wait a little longer). And if your rider stat is five (5) MO or more in your disadvantage, it might be an idea to attack before the climb starts, getting a gap in your advantage. Riding alone in the mountains is not as bad as riding alone on the flat.
i would suggest paying very close attention to how the points are distributed during the stage. some stages offer so little mountain points that its better to just let them go to other riders for a day. save your energy for the highest points and dont feel like you have to contest everyone one. let your rivals waste energy by sprinting up the mountain first. DOT your way in front of them after they tire out.
choosing a mountain jersey rider is easy: look for someone with obviously good stats in fighter and mountains but also decent in Acceleration. 9 times out of 10, your breakaway will keep the pace pretty relaxed until a few Kms before the sprint so just sit in and be patient and use that higher acceleration to out run rivals that may have higher mountain scores. balancing a mountains jersey and other goals (like overall GC or stage wins) is alot easier than trying to secure the green jersey along with other goals. it just takes one rider and some good timing to catch the right breaks
Awesome tip for nailing the climbers jersey in cycling races! That 75% stat on opening the sprint first Crazy Cattle 3D is super insightful—definitely a game-changer for strategy.
Amazing tip for conquering the climber's jersey! The 75% advantage of launching the sprint first in Crazy Cattle 3D is truly game-changing for race tactics.

The tip to send your climber in the breakaway is spot on. In most stage races, especially Grand Tours, the smash or pass breakaway often scoops up all the mountain classification points unless the peloton is hunting for them.
