It's been a couple of weeks since the last edition, sorry for that, but here we are with another wrap up of everything Daily! Do remember to read our latest Cyclist Interview, this time with Novo Nordisk man Javier Megias

Stories from the Month

Without a Story of the Month competition or a Story Spotlight for the time being here is quick flick around some of the happenings in the Story sub-forums. HuDCC and jihardy both hit Page 3 with their stories The New Luxembourg Lion and Fly Emirates-Blackberry, respectively. zuff's The 1980's continues to go from strength to strength hitting another Giro d'Italia in style

Matijn North returns In the Pursuit of Glory by the_hoyle entering the 2015 season. Another return, this time for Karl Hammarling by TMM as Act 8 draws to a close after a summer break. Fabio Melani from cycleman123 completes the one-rider trifecta on PCM13 heading into Le Tour yet again!

Big shout out to all the current stories, i can only fit so many into a brief section like this. However sadness as The Writers Block misses another edition due to the lack of an editor/organiser.

Man-Game May Madness

Okay not quite March Madness but the Management Game enters May full of speed and excitement. The Giro d'Itlia is the first GT of the season and is full of intrigue and action. Cunego goes out to bag perhaps his final GT win, while teams must deal with only having 8 riders on the road. Currently the race is hinged with 6 stage to run, but Damiano is in control for Lotto-Australia Post.

That's not all! Americas premier race the Tour of California is about conclude with Wikipedia's Taylor Phinney looking strong to take the title. We drop a division to the PCT, where Quickstep dominate Dunkerque but Jaguar-Eritel's Azzeddine Lagab took the honors. Finally the Tour of the Middle East, the longest stage race at CT level, concluded after a loooong pause. Vitor Rodrigues of Siam Cement-Lenovo took a slim win ahead of Maxim Iglinskiy, just 7 seconds!

Finally finally do go and look over the Team HQ's as the recent races have brought a wealth of detailed and entertaining updates. Also drop by the most recent PCT/CT Rankings Update as the battles heat up and the divisions shape up!

Story Games Special

The ICL and EPIC continue to make history in terms of community Story Games. The ICL has just completed it's debut season, which saw Gilbert conclude with victory at the World Championships. You can sign up for Season 2 here, and catch up on the Velo d'Or here.

EPIC hits it's first Vuelta, reported by SSJ2Luigi. Movistar got off to a dominating start in Week 1, but yet it's Purito and Froome dueling for top honors at this stage. Good news for youngsters as EPIC creations Birt and Ghita win three stages in a row to validate the young rider programmes. Catch all the action in the official thread here.

Thread of the Week

Tough call for these past two weeks. Lots of World Championships discussion, lots of Transfer discussion. The Cyclocross thread gathers interest. Cafe Pedro continues to fill up at an alarming rate. But i have to give the award to one thread in paticular. I'm With Stupid 2014: Attempt #2 takes the honors! The old favorite community game is back in action with no changes at all, just new life and energy. It's open to all at any time and looks to run right across the off-season.

Weekly News #139
Weekly News

World Championship week is upon us once again, and that means the end of the main season is starting to finish up. But that doesn't mean PCM.Daily is struggling for action!

New Sponsorkit

Jacky Durand has made yet another version of his now truly famous Sponsorkits. The 2014 Sponsorkits Update 2.5 has now been added to the PCM.Daily downloads section. The kit has been available for longer but now it is just so much easier to access. Including just a massive list of features, so huge i won't even begin to try and list them, it is a must have download for anyone who enjoys playing the 3D race mode! If you want to give it a try just follow this link.

Mresuperstar Steps Down

Last week we had Ian Butler leave the Admin team, and now Mresuperstar follows. A lack of time and motivation are his main reasons for stepping down and taking a bit of a break from the site. Mre has been a popular Admin headlining such features as Story of the Month and Survivor in his time. His input will be sorely missed. You can read his own statement here.

World Championships Action

It's one of pro-cyclings biggest weeks with the Team Time Trials on Sunday and then events running all across the coming days. One of he last big events in the year sees plenty of action on PCM.Daily with a 2014 UCI Road World Championships thread, new bets for most events and even a World Championships Prediction Game hosted by Dippofix

Man-Game Classics

The biggest news from the Man-Game this week has to Liege-Bastogne-Liege. cunego59 reported on a classics edition of La Doyenne which saw the daring attackers claim victory in an action packed race. Jan Bakelants took a home victory for Bouygues Telecom, with Yuri Trofimov and world Champion Boasson-Hagen finishing the podium places.

We've also seen the Dutch Food Valley Classics and Interlagos GP take place for the PCT and CT teams. Two flat classics on the same day split the sprinters and perhaps too much so as a breakaway claimed victory in both races! First it was Mohammad Saufi Mat Senan of Compal-Merida in the DFVC, and later in the day Jan Dieteren of AMEXpc won in Brazil.

Thread of the Week

Finally we get to Thread of the Week. It's been another busy one dominated by cycling chat. Canadian Classics discussion, Other Races discussion and Worlds build up were all popular. Heavy discussion took over the Stat Discussion thread as well. But my Thread of the Week goes to Café Pedro Nine: Nein, nein, nein! for a range of discussion from TV shows to Windows to Finite Mathematics and beyond!

Weekly News #138
Weekly News

It's been a few weeks since we last posted a Weekly News. Partly because the summer months are quieter, but also because normal writer Ian Butler has been short of time. So this week i am stepping into to fill the gap, let's see how it goes.

PCM Daily Expansion Pack: Update In The Works

If you've been reading the PCM.Daily Projects sub-forum you might have seen some posts hinting at a new update for the expansion pack. Well now we can confirm that a small post-Vuelta update is coming! It will contain: a post-Vuelta stats update, bug fixes and some othr surprises. Details are being closely guarded for the moment so keep an eye out for more information in the next week or two.

Ian Butler Stepping Down

Yesterday one of the newest Admins, Ian Butler, announced that he would be stepping down from his Admin position. First brought to the Admins attention last week he made a short statement in Cafe Pedro 9. It's a shame to see him go and we will miss his input on the Weekly News, Story Spotlight and other projects he helped around with.

Story of the Month: August

No official competition was held for August, but Mre did pick out winners for both the Main and New Story competitions.

Story of the Month: Il Bimbo d'bronzo by Re Leone

New Story of the Month: The 1980's by zuff

Both stories had great months and made real advances. Re Leone joins the elite club of writers who have won both the New and Main Story awards.

ManGame Madness

The ManGame has been on a string of races recently. Earlier in the week we saw Janez Brajkovic take an incredibly close victory, 2 seconds!, over Benat Intxausti and Fabian Duarte in the Tour of Vancouver.

At C2 level a terrific Tour de Bretagne saw Timothy Duggan victorious ahead of Wilson Marentes and Grega Bole. This race showing off that lower levels can mean better action.

Finally the ProTour is back in action! Francesco Ginanni of Pokerstars.com took a shock win in La Fleche Wallone. Simone Ponzi and Yuri Trofimov completed the high quality podium. Up next is La Doyenne and it is guaranteed to deliver action.

Story Games Progress

The Story Games sub-section saw some huge progress this week. Firstly the ICL, run by Bikex, completed its Vuelta a Espana. The final GT of the opening season saw a great battle between Purito and Froomebot, with the Brit taking the honors late on. The first season of the ICL is drawing towards a close but there is still some action to witness.

EPIC also passed a big milesone. After a whole month, and a false start, the Tour de France rolled down the Champs Elysees. One of the greatset Tours in history delivered in every aspect! A GC battle to rival Lemond-Fignon saw Quintana and Froome go toe-to-toe until the very final ascent on Stage 20. The Points Jersey was decided by a single point, on the Champs! In between was non-stop action. Go and catch up in the Tour de France Thread credits to Cycleman for reporting

Thread of the Week

Finally we come to Thread of the Week. It's been busy on Dail with the Vuelta drawing lots of discussion. Also the Tour of Britain and Canadian Classics have seen the Other Races thread plenty busy. But i have to give the award to Other sports on PCM for being neither about PCM or Sports... But it was the funniest thread of the year so far, guaranteed!
