PT Ranking Update #2 - Teams
February was a busy month for the PT teams with the triple header of Paris – Nice, Tirreno – Adriatico and the Classique du Grand-Duché as well as the Copenhagen – Malmö TTT and the first monument of the season with Milano – San Remo.
But the first race was a PTHC one with Roma Maxima. Per not only won the race, but also secured his team the best scoring with 189 points. The rest of the race podium was mirrored in the scoring too with Cedevita in 2nd with 129 points and Puma – SAP in 3rd with 120 points.
Kudus won Tirreno – Adriatico and so does his team, scoring 532 points there. They’re followed by Evonik – ELKO with 327 points despite the disappointing race by Lecuisinier. Cedevita completes the podium here as the last team over 300 points.
Pairs – Nice was a rather unselective race, so the TTers dominated the GC in the end. This is also mirrored in the scores where Indosat Ooredoo just beat Sony – Force India with 404 to 392 points. cycleYorkshire secured the final podium spot with some nice depth scoring and 372 points.
Higuita scored a surprise win in Luxembourg and also secured his team the best score there with 255 points. Puma – SAP (196) and Xero (167) complete the podium.
The score podium at the TTT is no surprise as it’s obviously the same as the race podium with January leaders EA Vesuvio (250) in front of Polar (175) and King Power (140).
La Primavera was won by Vansevenant, but the additional scoring by Vliegen clearly helped to score 378 points, especially as the next best scoring teams also had some good depth. Aker – MOT scored 329 points, Xero 309.
So which team was the best scoring of February? It might be a surprise, because they weren’t mentioned yet. But Rabobank was the 4th best scoring team in P-N, Luxembourg and MSR, just missing the podium by minor points each time. In total they scored 946 points this month, beating Xero by only 8 points. Fastned is already a bit behind with 854 points. Sony – Force India, UBS and King Power were the remaining teams with more than 800 points.
At the bottom we find Jura GIANTS (439), Gazelle (372) and Grieg-Maersk (319).

Their February win was enough for Rabobank to also take the overall lead. They have a gap of more than 200 points to King Power in second place. From EA Vesuvio in 3rd to Sony – Force India in the last safe spot there’s only a gap of around 400 points, but the relegation spots are already a bit behind the rest. Puma – SAP and Los Pollos Hermanos at least have competitive PpRD, but Gazelle, Jura GIANTS and especially Grieg-Maersk are already quite a bit behind in total points as well as PpRD.

PT Ranking Update #2 - Riders
Evenepoel scored enough points in P-N and MSR to keep the overall lead. Dunbar took advantage of the P-N startlist and rose to 2nd place although he still has nearly 200 points to the leader. Kudus is on the last podium spot after his T-A win. In 4th and 5th we have the first sprinters with Groenewegen and Farantakis, only separated by a tires width (i.e. 4 points).

That Rabobank season start!
Some teams still waiting for their biggest stars to really start, but not how I believed the table would look after 2 months

Our current PpRD would comfortably relegate us last season and it seems very likely that we'll be in a dogfight to avoid relegation again. I can't really ask for anything more than what I already got from my 3 main leaders, in fact regression is the most likely outcome with Philipsen already starting that in Sanremo.
Thanks for the update

Started off great with our win in Roma, but go very bad very quickly. We could have imagined the results in the latter three races on the month, but the Paris-Nice disaster definitely looms large. Not much to do except hope that doesn't continue. I worry Skjelmose is in for a very bad year.
Thanks for the update!

It's still early, but I don't think we will be in the relegation battle this year.

Not a great month for us obviously.
We were no part of Roma Maxima and we had zero scoring expectations of the TTT.
In the triple header only Leknessund did well, which leaves us with a meager 300 points total there. And in MSR our very modest expectations were not achieved.
Especially Aleotti needs to step up a bit. This was always going to be a transition year, but we do need to make sure we dont go down.

Still midtable, but PPRD is dropping badly. Not a disaster yet, but we need a big result somewhere next month.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Happy with the current midtable situation. The upcomming period is not going to be good for us, so we need some cushion.
The Grand Tours is also not going to be great.

Points wise, this is a brilliant update for us, solely due to our amazing MSR with Romo and Toupalik as our surprise heroes.
The triple clash was supposed to be very low scoring, but Kragh combined with Groenewegen made TA and PN almost 300 points in total, which kept us afloat. As it stands now, I kind of regret going the GT way with Valter, as I’m starting to get curious how well we could have done this season if I instead went with maximizing his points
The GTs will be a natural struggle points wise, but going this well in “other races” is cool, and also makes me even more excited to see Anderberg starts his cobbles campaign. |

Thanks for the update. Kudus is clearly carrying the team here, but I guess that's to be expected. The first part of the season was bound to be difficult but at least we are sitting above relegation territory to start. I'm eager to see how Jacobs will do in the classics.

Awful January, not the very best triple header tactics but the TTT and MSR definitely started to turn things.
Let`s hope, those positives appear more often now and the team can successfully fight relegation. Nothing more to expect anymore seeing how Wellens/Vansevenant and others have performed on some occassions.
Van Hooydonck might be key but right now is still a huge questionmark really.
The actual standing might be our season`s top placement.
Thanks for the ranking update! |

I wanted to be in the top 5 ranks or at least very close at this point because we had a lot of good races already. Unfortunately, every single race so far was slightly below expectations - and especially the triple header was a major setback on our quest for the title which means we need to kickstart our season now.

Super Rabobank, amazing start to the season!
Not quite where we'd like to be given we've played most of our best cards when it comes to Pidcock's schedule and the Vuelta is such a huge question mark on Areruya's whole season. Wanted to be in the Top 5 around this point. But no disaster and not going to start my annual sky is falling melodrama just yet Very excited to see what Olivier, Vermeersch and the climbing depth looks like in the coming months
Thanks for the update kb

Love to see the great start for Rabobank, after a few years more down in the bottom. We're simply just awful so far. The cobbles should at least give us something to cherish in this season towards relegation.
Thanks for the update!
