Just two races in but with the TdF a big one, which means, the table more and more becomes real with less chances to make changes. That said, 13 races left for the PT teams including monument Giro Lombardia or stage race Tour of Northern Europe alongside couple of classics or big stage races in PTHC Portugal, Deutschland, Balkans, Maroc, where surely some teams have big chances to go high.
For now, a short post TdF update including also Nakhon. Celtic Chrono for now postponed and in the next update only.
The last update saw Gazelle making a huge jump from 6th to 1st, which was a bit of a surprise. Post TdF this no longer goes as surprise as they actually were top scorer due to Madrazo getting a big GC win here. Bold move for the title by the team!
1534 points scored is big.
Coming closest is Grieg, where Phinney started strong but faded towards the end. Still 1219 points for them attacking the top10 in the full rankings having been 11th before.
eBuddy the last team above 1000 points, but it needed a decent Nakhon to do so as Dombrowski`s performance alone was just short, similar to Puma next after a thrilling fight for the green jersey by Demare, in the end winning 2 stages and the points ranking ahead of the climbers.
Festina, Aker, Air France and also Bennelong next due to decent GCs by their riders Lecuisinier, Galta, Sicard or Morton followed by Aegon, who had old veteran Dekker going for his (most likely) last top10 in a GT GC plus having the best sprinter next to Demare in Groenewegen.
Down at the bottom Generali being last, this trend already started last update with losing their lead in the PT rankings and will continue slowly dropping down the ladder.
Repsol, Indosat, Podium Ambition, Fablok or Spar all not having scored that much to make a jump in the relegation area.
A bit better for Farfetch, T-Mobile and Evonik as also EA Vesuvio or Tinkoff, but hardly safe yet neither.
| | Team | TdF | Nak | Total | | 1 | | Gazelle | 1534 | 0 | 1534 | | 2 | | Grieg - Maersk | 1219 | 0 | 1219 | | 3 | | eBuddy | 979 | 75 | 1054 | | 4 | | Team Puma - SAP | 937 | 37 | 974 | | 5 | | Festina - OAKA | 785 | 72 | 857 | | 6 | | Aker - MOT | 705 | 140 | 845 | | 7 | | Air France - KLM | 697 | 131 | 828 | | 8 | | Bennelong - Mitchelton | 785 | 0 | 785 | | 9 | | Aegon - Lavazza | 623 | 44 | 667 | | 10 | | Evonik - ELKO | 593 | 0 | 593 | | 11 | | Farfetch Pro Cycling | 546 | 0 | 546 | | 12 | | T-Mobile | 538 | 0 | 538 | | 13 | | Team Tinkoff | 533 | 0 | 533 | | 14 | | EA Vesuvio | 507 | 8 | 515 | | 15 | | SPAR - Siam Cement | 465 | 0 | 465 | | 16 | | Fablok - Bank BGZ | 421 | 22 | 443 | | 17 | | Moser - Sygic | 411 | 0 | 411 | | 18 | | Podium Ambition | 213 | 177 | 390 | | 19 | | Isostar - LimeBike | 350 | 0 | 350 | | 20 | | Indosat Ooredoo - ANZ | 329 | 0 | 329 | | 21 | | Repsol - Netflix | 300 | 2 | 302 | | 22 | | Generali | 240 | 0 | 240 |
The RD are not 100% accurate having 2 RD too much for every team as Celtic Chrono RD wise already in the formulas.
Gazelle was a easy guess to defend their lead and actually are almost 600 points ahead making them the top favourite now.
Puma up to 2nd being ahead of all other pre season bets but barely no one had Gazelle on the radar.
Air France, Aker and Aegon also 3 kind of surprising teams this season having done well really ahead of Grieg and Generali.
Bennelong, Isostar and Festina end the top10, surely teams you could have had expected a bit higher, which in especially goes for Moser, who are odwn to 11th.
EA Vesuvio in 13th feeling the loss of superstar Andy Schleck towards the end of his career while eBuddy surely had hoped for a bit better by Dombrowski in general.
Basically all teams in the bottom 5 still have chances but can`t ignore the actual gap of ~300 points to the safe zone for T-Mobile already. Fablok, Farfetch, Repsol and Podium Ambition even further behind.
SPAR for now looking safe with Evonik and Indosat just a bit ahead while Tinkoff might be fully safe yet having another gap of ~300 points in between.
So next to the relegation fight, the closest decisions seem to be from basically 4th down to 12th, where it`s just ~400 points in between while the podium seems to be almsot safe right now.

Herklotz defending the lead and seems to become the 2019 PT champion as all GTs are done and his advantage still is more than 300 points.
Madrazo up to 2nd after the Tour just ahead of Taaramae while Phinney also is up to 4th ahead of Spilak, Sicard and Gesink.
Lots of stage racers here, which might still change a bit towards the end of the season with the remaining races.
Best puncheur is Boasson Hagen in 8th followed by two more climbers in Kritskiy and Morton.
Groenewegen the new best sprinter beating Bewley, Demare and Grosu by a tiny bit with Ponzi being the next puncheur in 15th.

I really had not expected to have the most scoring sprinter in my team after all 3 GTs and still couple race days left even.
That said, I even more didn`t expect Velits to be my 2nd best scorer!!!
Just shows that those overperforming, how much De Bie did underperform, even in races, where H/M didn`t impact him really.
6 riders in the top75 is a great depth. Getting Keinath/Dekker for quite a lot of money was a big gamble really as training others would have been an option. But they in the end at least paid back with results and did make it enjoyable to follow them. Obviously not making it easy for next season to decide. |

Good jump for us and well inside the top 10, but it looks like it will be a battle all the way to stay top 10. Phinney only have Chrono des Herbiers left, and we have both Portugal and Maroc left, so the pprd it being a bit kind to us at the moment. Though, we have superman Stake Laengen in Portugal Nah, the big points will have to come from Wisniowski if we want to stay top 10, so hopefully he's ready to go again after being on holiday for the last months.
Gazelle looks unbeatable at the top, especially after Madrazo's win in the Tour.
Thanks for the update!

Relegation still seems the most likely outcome for us, but at least we now have a fighting chance. Hopefully we'll be able to score well in Portugal and Maroc, and then grind out consistent points elsewhere - if I remember right we have Cattaneo in Tasmania and Yates in Lombardia who might pop up with sneakily good results.
I think we should be clear of Repsol and Podium Ambition now for good, and we should just have enough to chase down T-Mobile. Fablok depends on whether Wellens is racing again this season, while SPAR and Evonik may be catchable depending on a bit of luck coming our way. Think we'll end up in 18th, but at least we have a lot more hope than after the Vuelta. |

The fact we are even still in touch to not be last is just impressive in all honesty. And i make the call now to award Supa-Nova with the Rider of the Year award for being inside the Top100 scorers as a loan-in Flat specialist!

Arh man. I really thought I would be jumping here - but atleast we are now very close to the top 5. We will never reach it, but in terms of points we haven't been this close since the first month. 150 points between 5th and 10th at this point is really slim.
Lecuisinier is 170 points below what I expected, and I can't get than from Tasmania unless he has some crazy good TT day, but maybe he can get 50-70 points to close the gap.

Great news!
An amazing TdF scoring for us, even better than I hoped for.
We're very much in search of valuable scoring opportunities in the remaining races though as Herklotz is done and Demare only in Moscow, so I wouldn't call our podium spot safe just yet. Arndt in Balkans and Sütterlin on home soil might actually be our best bets for some surprises...
But I do hope the teams behind us will take points away from each other and all score decently, but none well enough to erase the 600+ points gap entirely.
And in the end, our sponsor goal is Top 5, and I'd take just that 5th too.

Thank you for the update, roturn! Must admit I've been very curious to see this one after the Tour and our unexpected scoring there.
And wow, what an update that is for my team. Really surprised, I must admit, to see us all the way up to 4th at this point of the season. Once again Galta carries us through the Tour in a way we couldn't dream of pre-race.
Having said that, it's really, really close behind us. As it stands now, I expect us to be outside the top 10 when we hit Moscow, Tasmania and Lombardia as the final three races. We don't really have any big scorers in any race before that, but in Moscow Swift is back, and then there's Taaramäe in Tasmania.
Assuming Herklotz is done with his season, Taaramäe has a tiny, tiny chance at winning the individual ranking, but it will take an overall win, a stage win and a top stage placing. That sounds like a lot, and is very likely to be a much too big ask
Looking forward to see us in the races going forward. Now that we should be well safe from the relegation battle, all the races before Moscow will be kind of bonus races, where we won't expect much, but every result will be a nice surprise. |

Such progress. Very wow.
Kind of funny how an ageing Gesink is scoring better than Dombrowski so far.
Guess that's about the team's position this season. No major surprise in terms of scoring. Grosu makes up for Dombrowski's lack-ish of points, while Brambilla has stepped up for Boswell.

So happy to see we didn’t even lose a spot considering our lack of scoring options during Le Tour. Brenes is a miracle worker and even now still punches massively above his weight, ranked around or better than riders like Guldhammer, Galta, Cattaneo, Henao etc. Wonderful race from him.
I kinda thought we’d be in a lot more trouble at this stage and as such made some questionable race selections for the end of season, particularly for Bakelandts with around 15-odd RD’s left which could now massively backfire considering our position. I’m very worried, we’ve quite a way to go yet.
Thanks for the update roturn.

Jams doing amazing in his PT gap year, top 100 and 3rd best for Podium Ambition at the moment is pretty awesome!

Top-3 this far into the season... love it. Gazelle seems out of reach, so staying inside the podium must be the goal now. Will be interesting to follow! |

After possibly the strongest Tour in team history we're still in a very similar situation to the last update. We more or less defended our lead to the relegation spots and are still in a situation where we are expected to stay up but teams behind us are close enough to catch up with us with a good bit of fortune. In case any of the relegation candidates is curious and hasnt seen it yet: I've posted the remaining Evonik lineups in my HQ a while ago.
Thanks for the update.

This is super exciting Going into the season I didn't dare to dream we'd be a serious contender for the PT win, especially after it became clear that Ginanni would be useless.
But a large group of riders led by Madrazo, Teunissen, Kruijswijk, Formolo and Bibby have done better than expected and now we go into our last nine races with a proper lead. We'll definitely need to keep performing though, because a group of very strong teams is leading the chase with Puma, Grieg, Air France and Aker being closest to our slipstream in terms of PpRD.
So what will those races look like for us?
First there's Herbier. Those two TT's don't look perfectly flat, so maybe Bibby or Boara can grab some decent points. But most realistically we'll lose some ground here, especially to Grieg.
East Midlands and Battenkill are better; Teunissen has been great this season.
Northern Europe is an interesting one and hard to predict. But with Teunissen and Kruijswijk we do have riders who have the potential to do well.
In Balkans it's Ginanni and his support, so this will probably be a bad one for us. Maybe riders like Tratnik or Furdi can get something done. Or if Ginanni loses time early, others can go for breaks.
Expectations for Maroc are okay with Formolo, Sosnitskiy and Vervaeke all in the lineup. Obviously we're nowhere near being favorites for the win, but maybe we can go for our formula of swamping the top 20 and grabbing TC.
In Moscow we'll be utterly useless.
Tasmania is always a nice scoring opportunity for Kangert, Bibby and maybe even someone like Konrad.
And the the big finale: Lombardia. Both Formolo and Ginanni on the road there. Hopefully the former gets picked as the team leader. The depth is definitely there with Karnulin, Sosnitskiy, Vervaeke, Furdi, Tratnik and Konrad all attending. Last year we had five riders in the top 30 and this is something I'd like to repeat.
So there's not a single upcoming race where a large haul of points is expected, like in Madrazo's races. But through consistency and depth we should be able to prevent our PpRD from dropping too far below the current 41,9. My guess is that the danger area starts at 37.
Looking forward to seeing this all unfold!

Did not really make a jump despite Morton finishing 3rd in the TDF. But the projected points look good and we are in a position, where we can actually hope for our first PT Top-10!
If only Bobridge was a factor, we could have had a very good year. It seems. The strategy to send him to stage races again (worked perfectly well last season) backfired hard though.. Even more, since the remaining key races totally depend on his performance, if I remember correctly. Maybe Howard can pull a result from somewhere..
