Just in time before the February start, the first update can be posted for the PT division. 2 races for all teams with the hill classic in Badaling International and the flat/TT event in the Tour of Qatar alongside the 2-day mountain race in East Java for some teams only as it is PTHC ranked.
This obviously gives some teams an advantage of having 2 additional race days but for all teams it should be a very good indication of how the season could go.
Obviously the cobblers weren`t having suitable races yet and neither did many puncheurs or stage racers start their season yet, so it`s still all but a realistic outcome in 2-3 months time.
To make it short. eBuddy is the team of the early season so far scoring in all 3 races. Qatar obviously their big scoring with Grosu taking a little bit surprising GC win against huge competition. East Java could have been better by Dombrowski surely but was fetched by Brambilla additionally while Badaling was a depth run by Boswell/Gerts/Vermeltfoort.
The 2nd team of the early season must be Aegon - Lavazza as 2nd best placed team without East Java. Obviously their focus is sprints and hills, so the season start was ideal. Still Groenewegen in Qatar surely performed above expectations and De Bie showed up in Badaling plus great depth of the whole team there.
Also a great start for Moser with very regular scorings throughout all events despite Bewley not having his best Qatar, Indosat the same with Kristoff/Bakelants/Goss or Bennelong also without Java due to a strong Howard showing in Qatar.
Good showings as well by Madrazo, who could be in for a more successful 2019, which is good for Gazelle, Swift for Aker as their new top sprinter and Boasson Hagen as probably best puncheur for Air France.
Top favourite Moser already a bit ahead with the other top teams somewhere in the middle of the division while two big teams are rather at the bottom. Puma not yet had their most ideal races and EA Vesuvio might have a tough season to come at the moment being last.
| Pos | | Team | Total | Bad | Qat | Java | | 1 | | eBuddy | 693 | 81 | 441 | 171 | | 2 | | Moser - Sygic | 537 | 196 | 194 | 147 | | 3 | | Aegon - Lavazza | 475 | 196 | 279 | 0 | | 4 | | Indosat Ooredoo - ANZ | 460 | 132 | 202 | 126 | | 5 | | Bennelong - Mitchelton | 399 | 78 | 321 | 0 | | 6 | | Gazelle | 394 | 115 | 41 | 238 | | 7 | | Aker - MOT | 390 | 40 | 350 | 0 | | 8 | | Air France - KLM | 372 | 260 | 112 | 0 | | 9 | | Festina - OAKA | 360 | 83 | 277 | 0 | | 10 | | Team Tinkoff | 352 | 72 | 117 | 163 | | 11 | | Fablok - Bank BGZ | 312 | 164 | 84 | 64 | | 12 | | Isostar - LimeBike | 297 | 97 | 200 | 0 | | 13 | | Evonik - ELKO | 284 | 90 | 194 | 0 | | 14 | | Repsol - Netflix | 283 | 50 | 121 | 112 | | 15 | | Podium Ambition | 278 | 45 | 222 | 11 | | 16 | | T-Mobile | 257 | 127 | 130 | 0 | | 17 | | Grieg - Maersk | 252 | 45 | 185 | 22 | | 18 | | Farfetch Pro Cycling | 246 | 58 | 77 | 111 | | 19 | | SPAR - Siam Cement | 236 | 123 | 113 | 0 | | 20 | | Team Puma - SAP | 199 | 118 | 81 | 0 | | 21 | | Generali | 148 | 80 | 40 | 28 | | 22 | | EA Vesuvio | 120 | 71 | 49 | 0 |
Individually the Tour of Qatar had the most points and hence the sprinters on the top spots. Grosu, Swift, Groenewegen right now followed by Boasson Hagen as winner of Badaling International with Howard as next.
Madrazo`s 2nd in East Java also moves him up a lot while Coquard/Kristoff are the next sprinters. First surely not as successful as expected whereas Katrasnik in 9th is a huge surprise and delivered a good Qatar to Isostar while Sagan showed his skills already for Moser in Badaling.

Above the relegation zone despite two races where we did absolutely nothing, so I guess that's better than feared. Hopefully we will stay on solid ground with the classics coming up.

Off to a strong start, which is kinda new for our team, that used to have slow starts into PT seasons in the recent years. Nice.

Not much to be taken from this ranking, with so few races, and only one of them suiting us, and we did terrible there

Given that we had a pretty lousy Tour of Qatar (The team we sent in relation), and we weren't riding Java, I guess we can't be too unhappy with being in top 10 for the moment... the TTT will see us drop back quite a bit, but hopefully we will get our chance to shine sooner rather than later.

Didn't expect a lot at this time, so not unhappy. Hopefully we will be climbing soon

Nothing to worry about so far, in fact 8th best scorers in Badaling with a 76 hill rider leading the team and outscoring four teams in Qatar despite sending no sprinter and focusing on the epilogue with an inconsistent Sütterlin is actually a very solid start in comparison to how bad it easily could've been.
eBuddy look to be the only team up there that already gained enough on us to potentiall change the long-term running order, but that's been a great team for a long time now that deserves a good season.
The TTT should start to see us gain momentum towards the triple header where we start our season for real, with MSR and Hallstatt being our first highlights of the season right after.

Given that we've sent our best (baring Cobbles of course) into action, in a race perfectly suited to our new design, the fact we sit something like +30 above relegation having used more race days....

This might be the first time my team stepped on the first place of the PT rankings.

Terrible start for Evonik. Both races have been below expectations and with TTT event as the next race, im pretty sure this will be the first time that Evonik is in a relegation spot in any division after a race. Only can hope that things will be improving massively in the near future
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Thank you for the monthly rankings update, adding Copenhagen - Malmø: we are at least out of the relegation battle for now!

Not really the greatest start in Qatar partially repaired by nice results in both China and Indonesia. So all together quite a solid start, but we need every point before our expected losses come in especially from GTs.
Thanks for the update.

Thank you for the update!
Really not sure how to rate this start to the season. We really depend on Swift delivering the big results together with Taaramäe. And seeing how Qatar went, letting the GC win slip with several bad sprint stages, I can't say I'm happy.
Badaling was an expected no show, but I must admit it hurts a bit to see we were worst of all teams there. Not something I'm used to on the hills! |

Fun times
No real race that suits the team yet - at least not the lineups sent. Quite a few of them this season mind!
