One GT down, and also a couple more Bewley-ments have been and gone. And it remains pretty competitive at the top of the standings.
Becherovka had opened a good lead but Vesuvio have brought that back by winning the Giro, and by the fact that Behcerovka had a weak California. Strong in both races was Festina, and they move up to 3rd. Aker remain close in 4th.
Tinkoff are scoring strongly for 5th, while Oz are slipping back. Quickstep made big Giro gains, up 5 places to 8th. Project 1t4i also move into the Top 10 after topscoring of all teams when combining the scores of Pais Vasco and California.
The biggest climbers are Venchi, up 7 spots to 11th. Meiji were also able to move out of the relegation zone, but only just. Dropping down in their place are Bouygues Telecom and Bacardi, but they Orange and Ayubowan are still pretty close to the rest of the midfield. It is Swisscom who are really seeing a gap open up at the moment.

Sam Bewley is running wild at the top of the Individual standings, but is anyone really surprised? He is 3/3 for Monuments so far this season. Andy Schleck is up to 2nd with his Giro win, with Trofimov always strong in 3rd.
After his great Giro Ricco enters the Top 5, with Madrazo 6th, Cunego 7th and Ignatiev 10th. 9th for Van Garderen after his Pais Vasco win, while Phinney enters the Top 20 after getting his first victories of the year at California.

Underwhelming Giro making us fall, hopefully we can take some points back in the coming races. Really want that top 10

As to be expected, slipping down. It's still a nice picture, but with Burghardt crashing in Roubaix and a not-ideal Giro/California trip, we should have done better in the last few races. Will need Burghardt to score nicely in his final few races.
Thanks for the update! Could become a nice battle between Bewley and Vesuvio

Becherovka will need better Velits results to stay in the lead. Vesuvio will surely close the gap as also Festina.
Bacardi and Swisscom with a long season ahead. Tenorio and Amador already forced to overperform in any single race. |

Going better than I'd expected thus far, still gonna need a lot of luck though...
Thanks for the update SN!

I think the big headline here is Swisscom marooned at bottom. I don't see how they can easily get back.
I am pretty frustrated, I don't think we are getting much breaks at the moment - Giro was poor tactical brain fart though hoping for better later but current result point to barren Alarcon year. Pretty big gap between ourselves and top 10 this could be worst year in protour!
I think bottom nine is where relegation will be decided rather with tint of arrogance.

Early after end of Boonen´s era I expected to suffer around 10th-14th place at this part of season. Luckily, last couple of races went beyond our expectations, so sitting on 6th place is really nice.
Thanks for update!

Wow, Bewley is outscoring 5 teams by himself at this stage, It's a shame to see Swisscom stuck so far adrift at the bottom, they really need to pick it up and score more points from now on. Hopefully Amador will get off the mark soon for them which would definitely help.
In terms of my loaned out riders Kung has 25 points, Hugentobler has 165 points, Salleh has 20 points and Othman has 25points so they are all off the mark and Hugentobler is having a great season so far being his teams third highest scorer and out doing a lot of more senior Swiss riders among his teammates, I can't wait to have him back at Sauber if he is able to keep that going next year.

Thrilled with 4th after the Giro and before the Ardennes, where we really should pick up some points if Boasson Hagen performs according to his stats. If he does, that could give us a nice gap down to 6th before the Vuelta, which we will need, as I can't imagine Guldhammer overperforming there as well, on such a TT heavy course.
Festina definitely back in the game for the title after that Giro, but they need to avoid a disaster in the Vuelta and especially the Tour without Spilak. It looks very, very tough for Swisscom at the bottom, that can certainly not be what they hoped for after Nibali's Giro.
Guess the Swift/Bewley duel (assuming they both ride) in Tour de France could be quite decisive also looking at the overall rankings, if one of them is superior, the other team could loose quite a lot of ground there.
Thanks for the update, SN! |

Yeah we're gonna relegate. Nibali and Schumacher have rarely, rarely cracked the top ten in every single race they've done, and that's 2/3 of my leaders. I needed a decent Giro from Nibali as well but he was horrible. There's no way Amador will make up for that. At least we still have the Vuelta/Tour and Ardennes to go.
The battle at the top is still exciting though. I'm thinking this is SN's year, but it will be fun to follow.

A very underwhelming Giro sees us drop 6 places into the relegation spots, and needing to add 50% to our points to get into our target 10th position. Not good.
Very much needed Jan Bakelants to impress in the coming Ardennes triple header, and then to have him and Jurgen Roelandts actually try to win stages at the Vuelta.

Strikingly similar to our debut PCT season up to now. Leaders underperforming slightly, relegation expected and only a narrow gap between all the teams at the bottom. Just have to hope history repeats |

Just got back from a great holiday and ended up checking this thread before the Giro one, so i have a feeling i'm not going to like what i'll find .
It's pretty much as roturn said, Tenorio absolutely has to deliver or we are definitely going down. Ulissi is having a good season, but he alone won't be able to save us. If Tenorio performs well in his upcoming races there is still a chance as it will give us much needed points and deny points from other teams (Dekker - Orange, Pliuchkin - Metinvast, ...). Will be a hard task though.

Top-10 is the goal, but everything is still pretty close in mid-table, I'm really happy with Gusev's points, he is having a great season so far.

Hmm for some reason I remember this thread having 2 pages and I had a post in here, but maybe Im going crazy.
Anyway, its nice to be out of the relegation zone for now, but it will be a long fight probably going down to the last race, to see if we stay out of it or not.

Quite surprised to see us gain a spot after having a disastrous Giro. If TVG can get us quality points at the Vuelta then maybe, just maybe it will be enough to survive without having a superstar climber.

Followed the Giro from the sidelines and Andy Schleck did good for Vesuvio. Little doubt that SN will be on top of the rankings at the end of the season, Bewley is already the rider of the season though.
Venchi and Metinvest doing really well in the past two months but boy, Swisscom will need some major Danny Pate-vibe if they want to stand a chance, such a big gap already..

The top 5 can be very interesting and close after the ardennes week. Becherovka is the worst of the top 5 in terms of Hills and Sagan have to be lucky to come close to any of the 4 teams below.
Vesuvis have the worst leader of the chasers, but have great depth, as do we, and with both Ricco and Spilak riding I hope to get similar points as Aker and Tinkoff who both have top top puncheurs.
