Same old Trofimov adds one more to his tally, congrats Oleg. Your strategy on focusing on him to build your team around turned out to be profoundly successful.
Wikipedia looks to have found the edge they needed. I'm curios to know whether Vesuvio still has a realistic shot at the title with a good result in Lombardia, or if the PT crown has already been attributed. Either way congrats to both managers.
Kreuziger did nicely in the final TT. Saves my race here at least a little bit. It will be really interesting for me to see the rankings before Lombardia, it should be interesting between my team and Good Energy. We need to stay higher than them in standings to have a chance to be 3rd overall in the end, it should be really close.
Congrats to Oleg, big thanks to tsmoha for reports too.
The tension of the rankings is getting to me - I NEED to know!!!
Dropping to 8th was expected, but it still doesn't lessen my wish that I could have outperformed again. Malori coming in in the TT so low down wasn't quite what I was looking for either.
Still, great reporting as usual, so thanks tsmoha.
Anyway, no surprise to see Trofimov winning again. Would have liked to have seen Rein go higher, especially given I had a top 3 goal here (leaving us a disappointing 2/5 for the season)
Fantastic team result overall. Having Bookwalter,Durbridge, Van Rensburg, and Meyer all produce really will be huge for me here.
Obviously Van Garderen holding on to the podium was a great success as well, with phinney riding well enough to generate some points in a race that didn't really shake out to his liking. Again, just glad Van Garderen took the initiative to go up the road.
I would be surprised if Vesuvio were out of it. The Schlecks have been incredible this year and they have the team to rack up supplemental points as well.
