Really a nice result from our boys, unfortunately we decisively dropped the best two riders for tomorrow in Bagiolia and Narvaez. We are very lucky that didn't happen to Narvaez in South Africa.
Warbasse only dropped a few seconds but in this race that makes all the difference. Maybe one of Daniel, Affini or Matsuda are good enough to stay in the front if it isn't too selective tomorrow.

Middle of the pack TTT performance is solid for us in this field, but we messed up by dropping Lutsenko.
Now the entire game should hope we get gaps in the final hilly stage. One team grabbing GC positions 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 would be a farce that could almost rival the Giro throw.

Another bad race for us as our toilet season continues
I would have expected Barbio to finish a little better here. Thanks for your hard work with the race KB.

We finish 3rd in the points competition, and almost feels like more than we could ask for coming here! Thanks for the reports and congrats to the winners!

Weird to see Grosu going on the attack there, should have some more energy for the finale. Still, slightly surprised to see him hanging on so it's good to see him salvaging something out of this race by scoring points in the GC as well.
Thanks for the reports!

Polanc with another strong performance. Loved to see him on the attack and great to see him hanging on to a strong GC finish. Dude is on a roll.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Much more selective final stage with the deeper field here. The glass is half empty interpretation is damn, this could have been great if we hadn't dropped Bagioli and Narvaez in the TTT. But the better option I think is half-full perspective that a 1-second victory in the teams, the white jersey and some solid depth GC is a great outcome in a PTHC race. Bagioli's market value just keeps going up, the fact he isn't terrible on the TT bike helped to keep him in contention.
Pretty pleased with how finely the GC is balanced between the climbers, puncheurs and tough sprinters. In the end any of those skills sets can work with a strong TTT set up.
Given that Wirtgen was always going to be tough to beat. Congrats to SN and thank for the reports.

A horrible outing unfortunately. This month is so far looking to end up with 400-450 points in the negative in relation to expectations - or something like half the points.
Probably will be thrown straight into the relegation battle…
Pretty decent race AI though.

GC wise, that ended better than we expected pre race! Mohoric with a solid top 10 overall is excellent Had hoped for ever so slightly more on that final stage, though, a pity to be pipped on the line for 2nd place on the stage, and it also looked marginal to get bigger gaps to go even better in the GC.
Overall though, we take this result here, as we're definitely happy with what we got with our former strong TTT lineup being gone. Congratulations to Grieg on the stage win, unfortunately for them no GC result to follow with it. Also congratulations to DD on the stage win, and especially SN on the overall! Vesuvio back on track regarding their title push! |

Congrats SportingNonsense and thanks kandesbunzler for the reports!
A good stage result for Kinoshita, but if we discount the loss of yesterday he would have been second in the GC as well for a great result. Ah well

Perfect! Well timed sprint by Lutsenko to take the stage win.
And we got the gaps a stage like this deserves, making a good GC possible as well.
Lutsenko is having a way better season than last year.
Grats SN

Well, I guess Errazkin was ready when it really mattered ^^
We didn't have a single good stage on the first three days, with the 10th place on day 3 being our worst TTT performance by far this year - but somehow Errazkin manages to finish 4th on GC. Looks like the team didn't make the same mistake like in South Africa, with Errazkin losing just 3" to the rest - and being one of the best puncheurs with this result. Hanging on on the final day was key; unfortunately, none of his attacks ended up being decisive, and so he didn't quite have enough energy left to keep up with the front group - but it didn't matter anyway.
So in the end what really feels like another disappointing PTHC race actually results in some nice points. Not as strong as some other PCT teams who had better stage results or depth, but clearly nothing to complain about scoring-wise. Feels weird, but we'll happily take the points.
Congrats to EA on a deserved (and pretty much expected) win here, and thanks for the reports!

Man. Given some of the riders that were able to stay with the favorites until close to the end, it's kinda disappointing to see Izagirre and Uwizeyimana around 60th place. On a course like this, a lot comes down to positioning and given the riders on our team, it's generally not surprising that we don't get priority near the front of the peloton, so I don't mind the result too much and with some of the overperformances we've had recently, I won't complain anyway. But still, feels like a wasted opportunity. At least I got my prediction for the Top 2 correct, so there's that Congrats SN and Bikex, and DD too for the stage win! And thanks for the nice reports of course

A race of two halves for us, but that was the absolute best case scenario anyway! Vesely was great on the flats. We didn't expect much after that, and Vesely getting dropped just cemented that. Can't complain too much with the outcome though.
Congrats SN and thanks for the reports kb

Well after catching strays all race from the reporter I'm so happy to see Henrikas Tesfaye Houda put on a show for the home fans on stage 14 and get that 12th place GC finish to give us something from the race as he often does when our leaders falter.
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Good to win the TTT.! I was quite annoyed that Würtz ended up two seconds behind and not in the leaders jersey. We'll never know if that would have made an impact, but at least I don't think it was beneficial to have Korsæth in the GC lead going into the final day. Würtz has managed himself very good in similar stages previous seasons, but no success this time. Oh well, we try again. A deserved winner in Wirtgen nonetheless.

Trakhov finishing 9th in the GC - thanks to a strong last stage - made this race enjoyable for us. Very nice TTT-report kandesbunzler26, thanks!
