Good sprint from Van Poppel and surprised to see him actually getting more help from the team here than Grosu ever got in Qatar this year. Very close finish but in the end it's just another podium for Van Poppel who is still missing on that first victory.

Really thought the group of 36 riders would stay away and get a gap at the finish line seeing the writing earlier. Any idea how it looked when crossing the finish line?
The slowdown resulted in the pack getting closer, combined with riders losing some ground in the first group. The distance from first rider in group 1 to first rider in group 2 was 39" with 100 meters left, but some of those lead-out falling back fast,
so fair enough to assume that from last in group one to first in group too would be less than 20": No gap in sprint stage.

Nice of Liu to just barely finish ahead of some big name sprinters, like Kwiato, Pluchkin et al.

Its stunning how Skujins could even underperform my modest expectations on the prolog. Hopefully we will see some gaps on the hilly stages and maybe he can be aggressive without being chased down immediately. I need several good stage results to make this race worth it although i basically had to send him here anyway with Lopez being the far better fit for the Grand Duche route.

That doesn't bode well considering creating gaps on the hills, but there are three more chances coming in a row now, which is good
Strong sprint by Bobridge to get the win and some significant bonus seconds, being probably the only puncheur who can win this race on bonifications if big groups come together to the finish on the next stages. |

Great work by our team, a shame it didn't help for time gaps though. It doesn't hurt that much thanks to Bobridge taking the stage, which is a rare thing since last year (where he did win a stage, too. Not sure, where..). Credits to Hamilton for leading his captain to a perfect sprint position, a decisive leadout, as it seems. Culey also showing our colors early into the stage. If there would have been some time gaps, it would have been a perfect stage for us

Would have liked to see some attacks, especially from Aidan, but I can’t complain. Boily and Aidan both in top 20, and another two riders in the front group. The only bad thing is the size of the group. It’s atleast 30-40 riders too big for us to land any points in the end, so I hope that we can get some splits and then be on the right side of them.

Sucks that Declerq attacked too late, missing out on our break goal.
Aregger making the front group yesterday but NOT sprinting is a mystery, and him and Sagiv making the front group again today is meaningless.

Boswell on the wrong side of the split. Didn't lose time but it's not a good sign for things to come.
Good to see Kaczmarek moving into the top 10, but given his position in the stage it doesn't look he can hold on to that once we reach the harder stages.

Same. I need every possible gap i can get to get skujins up the gc so i need some gaps at least to make some guys drop behind him. The rise has to start slowly because well probably need multiplestages with gaps to overtake some of them...
Talking strictly about my own team, it looked like my guys were very strong. Skujins looked good and the guys behind did well to be positioned near the front too. Becis especially but also Riesebeek. Hopefully the KoM points Riesebeek could grab from the front of the pack will motivate him to chase for the kom jersey on the remaining stages too.

Very good stage from my team. It is nice to see that Viviani wants to show himself in other ways after it hasn't worked out with his TTs so far. Good to see him in the lead of the mountains classification and he already got a decent gap. Gidich and Brändle were aware and finished towards the front end of the peloton, Gidich even in 8th. Considering that I'm also not happy with no gaps, but on the plus side that means Mano one more day in white.
I'm sure that in the next stages there will be more gaps, as the final inclines look a little bit more selective.
Finally congrats tsmoha it's nice to see Bobridge having a good race for a change! |

Happy to see no gaps. Not that happy that Würtz was so far behind, but luckily another day in the lead. Great little win for Bobridge, congrats tsmoha!

These first few T-A stages are bringing some very much needed points for my team as Dennis is still hanging on well as expected and so is everyone else, with De Gendt even 2nd in the KoM standings which is cool, as well as obviously the team standings lead. Was cool to see former rider Viviani out there as well. Next 3 stages are gonna be key tho.

I was actually hoping Chernetskiy would loose time today so he could go on the attack the rest of the race, maybe Strakhov or Vlasov have to/can attack now instead.

We lost the lead, but a quite good performance from Würtz. Good to see Serrano in the break as well. Hopefully more of that, from both him and Cosnefroy. Hope Würtz will still try to good for a good GC, but fear he won't now that he is a bit further down in the rankings.

This is a start. Finally some gaps appearing and its good to see that my support guys started chasing a lot but it is important that it doesnt stop here as we need to see some more gaps at the front too instead of just dropping some domestiques. Some additional stage points would be nice too
