Another bad stage by Van Stayen. he looked like one of the fastest but he once again was so badly positioned when the sprint started. The rest of the team also looks to be badly positioned throughout the stages which can hunt us on one of the next stages.

That's more like it. A very close sprint though - a few inches between the fifth place and the winner.

That photo finish pic is quite remarkable, insanely close finish. Win is a win, but 2nd place and another podium is a perfect way how to win this race overall. Leader's jersey is surely a nice thing to own, but to actually win, Bewley will surely need a better lead-out from Vesely in the next three stages. Habtom was perfect, but Vesely needs to improve a lot.

How does Vanmarcke go from towards the front near the end, to 129th?
Nothing happening for Vesuvio, as expected. 30th for Kittel is a hopeful sign that he may avoid time loss on the first 5 stages at least.
So many other sprinters in the mix though, such an unpredictable finale - and not the opening two stage winners that would have been predicted. Hopefully Swift can get his act together soon.

Too bad Yatsevich and Dal Col crashed and weren't able to return to the peloton

Why did I send Boekmand? He is not even trying

It kind of needs something to have the duo Swift/Groenewegen here, who actually work together and then fail to enter the top10 at all. |

Whoa, a sprint victory!
I was not expecting to see one of these from Avelino at all. What a gritty performance there. It's pretty much mission accomplished with this race, but now I'm feeling we have a shot at a top5 or something from here.
Really tight sprints here, pretty interesting stuff.

Positioning was not great this time, good effort still keeping a shot at a potential top 10 in the GC

Oh well... Not too hopeful after stage 3 anymore, fear the beast may have lost some power...

Following Avelino's wheel there wasn't the best move for Grosu, but in the end he managed to get a top 10 and a few more bonus seconds which is great.

Ahah, from hero to zero. What a disastrous sprint from my man Avelino.
That was a more Qatar-like stage, with the long plains interfering with the result. Aegon playing their cards well today should give Swift the chance he needs to fight for the overall.
A little anitclimactic that there were no gaps there, but I can't say I'm unhappy with that

Interesting with the splits, feared to read Schädlichs name everytime you mentioned riders falling of the pack.
Well done by Swift, 3 stages 3 winnes and none of the Bewley

Another stage, another podium, still leading... but things does not look absolutely perfect as Swift is now a huge threat. Nice to see Vesely finishing in top 10, but too bad there were not any time gaps given. Would be huge for my team without any good time trialists in this race.

Not a lot of gaps, which is both good and bad I think. Coquard can't compete for a GC top 5 clearly, but top 10 might be doable and as long as Coppel and Vlatos is still in the front groups, another two top 15 riders are possible.
Bryan Coquard is also still in contention for the U25 competition, which was always a main goal for him, but Grosu is not a bad prologue rider either, so 4 seconds might be too big of a gap, if looking at previous seasons. Only the top top TT'ers can take significant time.
I still have all of my riders in the first group, but only the three mentioned riders can do anything so I don't have a lot of hope of more riders in top 50 unless we stay ahead in a split - and I can't see that happening, so for now we are content, and hoping for a bit better results from Coquard on stage 4 and/or 5.

Back to no sprint by Saber. No breakaway either, well, to be expected.
Swift finally delivers. Congrats, roturn!

New season but the time gaps are still screwing my team. Getting 100 more riders on the same time as Van Stayen sucks a lot as it harms his chances for a good GC finish while Stoltz loses his chance for no reason at all. Disastrous stage.

Guess I need to Accept a day out of Top 10, hopefully we can make a podium place next instead
Luckily Johansson and Haugard Still in reach for better GC position in the Prologue aswell as Andersen with his Still decent prologue stat. |

When will PCM finally recognize greatness? Maybe Stoltz joins a breakaway now though, which would be nice as well.

That`s how I like to see my team performing.
Super strong train even though hugely contested by Iberia. Head to Head sprint of the very best then and winning in style.
To complete the strong result Groenewegen in bonus second positions to give him a few more GC points in the end I guess. |
