Yey! Thats why he was here! Our first win as a PT team in a PT race
Got me a bit confused and worried with 4.3 km left regarding Abal, seems like he was in two groups at the same time? both +1'48 and +3'05.
Anyway he did Good in the end to minimize his time losses.
Now on to the TT!

I think this is the third vuelta stage win of a break where my rider drops out of the game because the AI picked one who can't climb at all for a mountainous stage. Very annoyed at that.
The GC looks very nice with Vosekalns sticking with on paper better riders once again. Koch also with a solid stage. I like that.
Congrats Viking!

Too little too late or a heroic comeback? Only time will tell. I am not too optimistic, but both Pluchkin and Nepomnyachsniy should be able to do well in the TT.

Olivier took a day off here after his attacks while Keizer was okay seeing his 71 hill.
A bit unfortunate that the group couldn`t stay in front of the later including some other strong riders but in the end the loss is okay.
Pluchkin therefore very strong and back into the podium fight I guess.
Now a flat stage which I hope sees yet another win/performance by Groenewegen but seeing how they worked out recently I expect yet another stupid breakaway win.
Then onto stage 17 and Keizer hopefully winning and closing into the top10.
18-20 then hopefully Keizer to remain there while Olivier goes yet again for KoM and GC improvement. |

Found it: and he was at 3'05.
He never got into group Schleck after Pluchkin’s attack, no idea how he got there in the report.

Finally into white. Yet again nothing spectacular from Lecuisinier, though.
Also a note on the coverage. Some sublime work imo...

Mager should've been able to stay with the break. Arndt could've been able to stay first the favorites group considering he made it there in the first place.
We tried, but failed.

Expected to see Galta drop the white jersey, and suddenly it's very much game on for that 10th place, which seemed kind of safe only a couple of stages ago, I must admit. Fingers crossed he finds his climbing legs again when they hit the mountains.
Looking at the stage result, Guldhammer is once again disappointing, as this was one of the stages I pre-race thought he had a shot at winning. Hopefully he decided to play a solid domestique, not being simply dropped and far from strong enough to follow Schleck's group.
Another good try from Stake Laengen, but admittedly he will fall short with every attempt as long as the quality of the breakaway riders is this high.
In addition to the report, also a huge thank you for the overview after stage 14, Tamijo! You're really making this Vuelta a great one with your superb coverage. |

Stupendous day for Machado, making use of his good power on the hills. Suddenly the 5th place seems possible.
Bittersweet victory for Spotify. While it's great to see them finally take their first victory in PT, it mustn't feel good to see Abal take another tumble in the GC. Congrats, anyway, viking!

Was fearful of Madrazo today, so glad to see Schleck together on the same time as him. The gap to Pluchkin did rather get away from us, and with the TT to come that puts him back in the race. A bad TT for Schleck, and we could have less than a minute separating the Top 3.
Konig excelling once again, which is pleasing to see. He can really make some key contributions when he's on it.

It's going to be a nice battle for top-5 for sure, 3 mountain stages and an itt of 40km left for the GC. And thanks again Tamiji for the detailed reports, they really feel/read like playing the Vuelta yourself!!!

Lead out from Laporte --> Perfect positioning
And you guys say PCM isn't realistic!
EDIT: You've probably all noticed the mistake, I'll blame myself being too eager to point out Laporte's amazingness.

@alex,knockout gustavo- Thanks!
Damn, for a little while I thougt a double by Haugard Jensen was gonna happen
Smart move to get in the break so Abal did not chase the break, but on the other hand Stallaert took vacation on this stage? |

3rd for Groenewegen is fine. Was hoping for another stage win but apparently he is suffering as well after the climbs and my team is no longer giving him a leadout as Lovassy likely is totally exhausted as well. So can`t ask for much more.
At least no breakaway win and it was close yet again as this 40 -> 10 kilometer chasing is just totally bugged.
Congrats ember, Enger seems to be the more supported sprinter this Vuelta and your leadout did fine to deliver him this win, while Houle is having a nice couple of performances as well.
Sucks for Ayubowan that Bellis isn`t doing similar tbh.
Andy Schleck on fire as well. Not that defending the point competition is really needed. But at least he makes the shirt proud.
Thanks for yet another fantastic report, Tamijo. Really a joy to read.
And now please let Keizer shine. Can`t remember him winning the last ITT for me. Can`t actually remember if he did at all once. |

Schleck will win that TT aswell. What a race for him.
If only his domestiques would have performed more consistent aswell, Vesuvio would have catapulted into 2nd overall in the PT rankings. I guess Hugo Boss will stay clear ind 2nd for a while.
Nothing for us here, but we can hope that Lecuisinier will perform good in the TT. Hopefully on par with Abal and better than Galta and Velits.

Pluchkin far back, probably bad AI as Konovalovas was still ahead until late, but not as comfortable as it should have been. Maybe though, this could have saved him a tiny bit of energy...
