It's always unfortunate though. But look at Rothaus: they were on the verge of entering the Giro's "hall of shame", but in a matter of 2 stages have pulled one of the most miraculous stunts I've witnessed in this game. And they only have 3(?) riders in competition.
Indeed.
Only Thurau and Reguigui are left next to GM.
So special thanks to SN for loaning me Reguigui. |

Feck, well that looks like the King of the Mountains gone barring a big fightback. Good attacking riding from Samwel though. |

A 69 mountain rider having the jersey for so long is impressive enough, though obviously I understand it's tough to lose it this late.
Still a great wildcard contribution

But Ricco is just horrible luck, he wasn't having a great race but would have been on for at least a top ten possibly a top five.
He was 6th in the GC, and was definately not going lower than that. Looking at the result he would probably also have caught Trofimov - though he might have lost that again.
4th or 5th in the GC seemed realistic, which would have made this the best Giro for me ever.

So cheer up SotD, perhaps there's a turn around waiting for you later in the season
Yeah, I'm not nearly as angry about it, as I would have been in my younger days. It was only a day after Lecuisinier crashed and dropped 8 spots in the California though, so it was a bit annoying.

I wasn't talking about Samwel, I was talking about Ben Nasser who had the KoM jersey. And he is 69.

I guess...
The usual PCM issues again, that looked like spicing up the GC here and there until the AI kicked in.
I look forward to rack up a lot of nice unexpected points with Herklotz on those stages in the future.

Ouch, SN.
This must have had hurt a lot.
Even though only AI would give you the win for some reason, then again this will be all season and you missing out for 1s sucks.
Personally the time loss was unexpected. Than again still top20 and after two stage wins after a mid stage break, this is actually not unrealistic.

Six out of 19 stage wins is amazing from Good Energy - this team have always been keen on the Giro and this is amazing reward.
Stupid and wierd AI - to be honest though the guys making the front of the splits never really make any sense. Alarcon looked comfortably entrenched in the front group which is clearly ridiculous.
Sprinters denied once again despite at times good efforts from the sprinters teams... well now for the last hurrah...

Really cool Giro d'Italia SN, every report is a lot of fun to read.
Now bring us those last 2 stages, Trofimov is still fighting for top-5 and the points jersey!

Good Energy's Giro d'Italia has just been amazing, which is great to see considering the team rjc_43 sent. Congratulations!
Looking very much forward to the final mountain stage, which should see Pluchkin attack far out considering how short the final climb is. |

That was quite astounding. Reading the report I had thought Ponzi would be in with a chance, then when the front group eased up and the second group caught back up I was thinking the chance was over. To win on the line, in that fashion, well, wow. What a report, what a finish line photo - I love the look Gaustauer is giving, and amazing that Ponzi took another stage!
Incredible Giro for me. Absolutely incredible.
And sorry SN. I didn't want him to beat you... honest.
