Very happy with a podium here. The guys kept it really good together and we couldn't really have wished for more than a 3rd place here, so job done perfectly in that sense.
Predicted 8th and finished 8th so no complaints for me. We're also lacking the real stand alone fire power but maybe next year! Congrats to Vesuvio and thanks for the report
Just missed out on the podium, but Vesuvio, Oxxo and Grieg do have better tt squads so I guess I've to settle for best of the rest, at least Zipp is happy
Well in the year I actually visited both Copenhagen and Malmö in real life, and travelled across the bridge in question, a big performance in the team's #1 race of the season was all important! As noted in the preview, quite an eclectic history for the team - winning the first 2, powered by the likes of Cancellara and Millar, then a shock defeat in the 3rd year triggered a dip into the TTT abyss for quite some time.
Was no guarantee given the improvements this year were individually for Wirtgen; but the depth of the back end of the squad maintained, so fortunately that was enough to hold off the emerging threat of Oxxo!
It used to be way easier to be in the Top 5 in these, but the advent of EA Vesuvio and Wirtgen (speaking of, congrats!) has led to this discipline becoming way too contested for a team that's just focused on getting Herklotz through GT TTTs unscathed to ever return to those positions again, so I'll gladly accept nearly making it into the Top 10.
I REALLY don't like only being two seconds ahead of Evonik now though!
Thanks UU.
Hey! Apologies for my absence!
Between being busy and basically constantly sick, I feel behind schedule to follow the early races live, and then my ADHD ass kicked in and faltered under that ever-growing backlog again.
I'm back for the Giro and hopefully everything after, and I want to reiterate I'm still very much committed to this game long-term if you want me around.
Happy New Year!
