Not a good start with Eislers getting caught in that split behind the top ten but we've got to keep tryin'

Two riders in a breakaway of four. Now that's something

Kind of a chaotic stage there, but to our benefit. Feel for everyone that was hoping for more. Seems like leadouts are almost counter-productive.

An extremely good effort from our team, there's no shame in losing to Tinkoff, congrats Oleg!
37 seconds on Madrazo is a nice cushion to have, while only 28 on Morton is a surprise, considering Bennelong was rated quite a bit lower today.
Nevertheless, we should always strive to keep Herklotz ahead of Morton on every single stage, so any gap should be enough.
Whether Madrazo can overcome today's deficit depends a lot on daily form and the GC going into the latter half of the stage.
With Moser hopefully not surviving tomorrow's stage already, the focus lies on aiming to get Herklotz bonus seconds tomorrow to overtake Vlasov, who is the only decent climber of Tinkoff ahead of our bunch.
Novikov on s.t. shouldn't become an issue.
And if Vlasov can hold on to the jersey, we still have a prime opportunity on stage 5 to either create a gap on the final hill, or at least add bonus seconds as the strongest puncheur in the race to separate from him that way and enter the first serious mountain stage in yellow.
With that roadmap being clear, I'm excited to find out how tomorrow's stage will be run.
Do we gift weird stages to breakaways even in short stage races now? Will the dropped sprinters return due to a lack of pace after the last climb? How will the final be ridden if no sprinters are left?

Solid result in the TTT after a rather disappointing (not surprisingly though) first stage!

Not great in the TTT, but oh well.
Great day for Festina on stage 3 though, could it get any better than that? Shikai kind of expectedly missed that gap, bad ACC probably the cause. Hoping he can still get a Top 10 though.

Boy that was unexpected! After a season with a 4th place as the only breakaway result, things sure did escalate! Nice to finally be at the receiving end of the things
This obviously changed the race from a potential 0-pointer to a decent to good race.
Thanks for the congrats!

Breakaway win was obvious, an 1-2 for Festina is huge though.
A good stage for us, too. Morton following the moves (that I didn't see happening in that stage, tbh). A few more of our guys in the next group, including O'Connor, who puts himself onto a solid U25 position that way.

Congratulations, SotD. Huge win, making the race already a big success for such a team here.
For my own team, it looks to be another race where it doesn't look like we've realized we participate |

Not a good stage, and strange AI from the pack to let a group of favourites clear on the flat. I certainly don't mind, but not the smartest of moves.

I have no idea why we didn't join this breakaway. Also, Aru seems to be having his random fitness set on and it's not a good one

Herklotz easily wins the sprint for 3rd and some prrecious bonus seconds. He will wear the leaders jersey tomorrow.
??? How dare you do this to me!
I really don't know if I should be happy or sad.
Herklotz himself did really well, got extra bonus seconds on his rivals and appeared the strongest.
But we should be in yellow now. And I fear we won't get that back before the mountains. And that's really stupid.
I mean, SotD deserves this and I'm happy for you.
But even if we get the jersey on stage 5, we gifted 16 points just from being 3rd in GC until then.
And if we don't get it on stage 5, that's 24 points thrown away plus the leader bonus for a decisive stage.

This type of mountain stage doesn't suit Madrazo, so I'm fine with this result. Stage 6 is his first chance to shine.

Sorry about that, during the race I I did the math wrong and thought they had closed enough for him to get the lead. Then looked at the results and realized I was wrong but missed that edit.

Thanks! Really happy with the team time trial victory, too bad we couldn't hold on to the leader's jersey the day after, but that was expected. Don't know if tomorrow is a hilly or flat stage, if flat maybe Moser can work his magic again.

Another decent Stage for us. Bouglas taking a single point, but we kept the jerseys except for points, where we are still 2nd though.

Only two points for us but we tried and Eislers just didnt end up in the right position at the right time.
Holloway continues to be exciting. Love to see another win for one of the coolest sprinters in the MG DB.
