Vesely and Vakoc hopefully better take an advantage of a poor competition for hilly a sprint stages. I hope HIL attribute will matter for that hilly stage and that my team can produce at least somehow decent sprint train. Plus attacks in mountains. Insane startlist for GC though.

Wonder why we helped in the chase
Morton not looking too good with a finish way back in the pack. I don't like! Let's just hope the climbers field ain't so stacked, that a few premium climbers don't even care about positioning.
Congrats, Roman. Festina won't like that though

Well done Vesely. Eventhough the list of sprinters here aren't great, you still need to win those stages as the favourite, and definitely nice to see Vesely deliver. Congratulations, Roman!
Didn't expect Kogstad Ringheim to mix it at the front, but definitely a good try, and 8th place is a bonus from such a stage.
Thank you for the report, jandal7! Could we please just skip the TTT and jump straight to the mountains? |

I wanted to do a double header tonight to get there quicker but I thought it wouldn't be allowed

Aw man, that was very close to a podium and a perfect start. Still, a great sprint there exploiting the weak field and I believe the second flat stage suits Herklotz even more. All points are welcome.
Now for the TTT which we should finish in the middle of the pack. Just don't pull a Roglic.

Well... Obviously not a great position for us, to see Moser performing this well, to take more points than we do - But we have to look at this on the positive, and honestly we didn't expect a stage top 3, so to have Jacobs in the BotD and Alaphilippe finishing 3rd in the bunch sprint is obviously good.

Great stuff by Schlechter to take the early KoM lead.
Pity that it was Debesay who looked to take advantage of Mr No Acceleration, rather than Afewerki. But somewhere Van Heerden must have taken his best sprint of the season, as he has 2 bonus seconds. Any ideas where jandal?

Quite annoyed at not winning the stage. This was the most interesting stage for my team and not winning us costs us valuable points. Getting the jersey for a stage would have been so cool and losing that opportunity because of a crash (im convinced he would have won without it) sucks.
Let's hope he can perform well on the other flat stage (the hilly stage is too hard for him anyway). On the other stages I hope that my two top climbers will join attacks and maybe fight for the KoM.
Thanks for doing the TTT report (that counts as commenting on that stage, right? )
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

I don't have the stage files on me but that's weird - I'm sure the bonuses were 3/2/1 at the sprints as usual.

6/4/2 are the bonus in the intermediate sprint in races with the "normal" system.
And while you never said that Van Heerden finished third in a intermediate sprint, Van Avermaet is said to have been third in the last sprint and the seconds hasn't been counted for him, so it's fair to assume those were counted to Van Heerden.
I have experienced those kinds of things when a very close fight for KoM points or sprint points, where it says someone has taken x points and then they get less

If there is one thing to be learned about this season, Moser is performing no matter what

It was those three competing for it so you're probably right

Ouch Tinkoff, that sucks.
For us a relaxed stage with Wellens looking sharp and staying high up in the peleton aswell as Ludvigsson. |

Decent from us, Wellens staying with the team is good.
Will be intersting when the climbing starts to se how Wellens will do.
Atleast a little comeback for Tinkoff with a stagewin here after Kritskiy loosing time on stage 1, congrats! |

Obviously feeling sorry for Jayco, Hugo Boss etc. for again not getting the best out of the TTT AI, but personally it opens up a huge opportunity to outscore several better climbers in the end.
Expected mid-pack finish for our squad here, so white seems wide open now (I surely hope three minutes are too much for Morton to make up) and Kudus is quite a similar rider to Herklotz at the moment.
Also it's nice to see we didn't drop Bongiorno.
Tomorrow's mountain stage looks interesting because any meaningful selection will probably have to be made before the final ascent. I like Herklotz's chances of following the favorites in the last kilometres if he is in a good position and chooses to care.
