Flat race, but with hills. So FL becomes very important. And the AI becomes wack when it's flat AI but partly hilly race
Also time for some stats, below you can see best cl, tt, hill, cobble, sprint and u23. As you can see, there are some U23 regens that are becoming good already. And one cobble guy is already awesome (Pearson, 79 COB guy)

Well, 77 SP and 70 HIL is already really good in the FCD matrix. Plus he's riding at CT level where most of the riders have high 60/low 70. So he crushes them |

Well, Roy finishg 2nd in Vuelta is a surprise.
But another fact : Froome wins TDU, Romandie, Suisse, TdF and Vuelta. I wonder how the AI managed to put him in good form for all those objectives ?

Season 2016

Already the 4th season going, and unlike the previous seasons, we saw a lot of variations and suprises.
First the spring.. Sagan was expected to dominate... he did finally win Tour of Flanders, however, in the other races he failed to win. Kittel took San Remo. Kristoff doubled E3 Prijs and Gent Wevelgem and Roelandts beat Cancellara and Boom in Roubaix.
Man of the spring? Bauke Mollema! The number 3 of the TDF 2015 took wins in Paris Nice, Vuelta Ciclista al Pais Vasco and Liege Bastogne Liege. Later that season he'd also manage to win Tour de Suisse and finish 2nd in the Vuelta.
In the Giro Nibali did not take his 4th win. In fact, he didn't take part at all. Rigoberto Uran finally had his shot and took the victory, ahead of Nieve and Ulissi. Intxausti finished just outside the podium again, he has a good record of finishing 4th and 5th in GT's now.
The Tour de France was also not going according to plan. Chris Froome failed miserably in the hilly transitional stages, allowing Rui Costa to take enough time to suprise the Sky machine. Costa wins the GC by a margin of 54 seconds. Surely the suprise of the season. Jurgen Van den Broeck also showed he's not done yet and finished 3rd in the GC. Also worth a mention, Aketza Martinez Ballesteros finished 2nd in the U23 classification, not bad for a scouted rider.
Froome took revenge for his failed TDF by winning the Vuelta comfortable ahead of Mollema. Michal Kwiatkowski showed signs of life again by finishing 3rd, ahead of the aging Contador. Löfkvist and Kiserlovski suprised by finishing in the top 10.
Meanwhile during the Vuelta Cavendish took the double Vattenfall/GP Ouest and looked ready to conquer the world championships on a pancake flat course. While Thomas de Gendt appeared out of nowhere to win the GP Montreal.
At the worlds massive favourite Cavendish failed due to a failing GB train. Kittel laughed his way to win, an impressive double MSR+World Championships for the German. Scouted rider Tony Zoricich (Australia) finished 2nd in only his 2nd year as a professional. This guy will become BIG.
The ITT went to Tony Martin who took his 4th WC ITT championships. Phinney and Ludvigsson joined him on the podium. Castroviejo and Dowsett rounded out the top 5. No more room for fading stars as Cancellara and Wiggins...
Finally Betancur ended his season the way he begun, by winning. First time I ever saw the winner of the TDU win the Tour the Beijing in the same season. Impressive. Most hilarious win of the year was by Albert Timmer who managed to fluke a win in the Tour of Pologne thanks to a freak breakaway.
And even though the awards say differently. Mollema was the man of the season for me due to an impressive talley of WT victories!

It will be interesting to see if any of the top guys in the U23 rankings manage to break through and have a very successful main career - or if the best regens tend to not be as notable in that U23 section. (I dont play enough career to have any first hand experience of that)

Season 2017

2017 was the year of Sagan. With wins in Tirreno Adriatico, E3 Prijs, Amstel Gold Race and Liege Bastogne Liege he was by far the best classics rider. Terpstra and Vanmarcke took the win in RVV and Roubaix respectively. While Froome and Nibali showed they are still on their best level winning Romandie and Nice.
In the Giro Nibali was back with a vengeance. He dominated the race completely and won by over 8 minutes to Henao. Intxausti, the eternal top5 finisher, finally managed to get onto the podium. Worth a mention is Kismetdinov, finishing 12th and being the best young rider. Also a mention is the suprising 8th place of CA Sorensen, yeah, he's still around.
Chris Froome also took revenge for his failed TDF last year. This time around he beat Rui Costa by a large margin. Roman Kreuziger added himself on the podium in 3rd place. Mollema was 4th and old Alberto Beefsteak 5th. It was nice to see that another scouted rider, Davide Nardini, finished best young rider, even though he was only just inside the top 30 of the GC. His stats look good and he was mainly here as helper.
Cavendish took another sprints jersey and is moving closer and closer to Zabel.
In the autumn classics Cavendish broke the record for most wins in both Vattenfall and GP Ouest Plouay. While Quebec, Montreal and Lombardy get a different winner each year it seems. Sagan took another big win in the ENECO Tour and Fellini finally managed something nice on WT level by winning Beijing.
The Vuelta was the time for Betancur to finally take a long overdue GT win. The Colombian is always there in the top of each ranking but never seems to win big (except small WT stage races). Now he did. He was the overwhelming victor ahead of Talansky and Anton. Gesink and Van den Broeck finished in the top 5 as well. Kismetdinov finished a commandable 9th. The first scouted rider to reach a top 10 in a GT. And he finished both Giro and Vuelta as best young rider. Keep an eye on this one!
The Worlds in Doha was a German affair. Tony Martin took his record 5th ITT world championship. Marcel Kittel outdid Viviani, Cavendish and Sagan in a sprint royale in the road race. It was the perfect sprint with Cavendish in Kittels wheel, and then Sagan and Viviani. Viviani might have had the best sprint but just had to come from too far.
Also worth a mention is Kwiatkowski. He's literally everwhere in the top five, and finished 2nd in the WT ranking. But all that consistency lacked a big win..

I mean come on... Where are the Russian riders?
Just kidding, I see that there's a youngster with a very pronounceable name of Ugulbek Kismetdinov. Come on, you can do it! Grab the win! |

When I first saw the name I read i as "Ugulbek Kissmenow".
There's a fine line between "psychotherapist" and "psycho the rapist"

Huh?
There's only 1, right?
And as a CT team(thinking he is), he probably just sims to the end of the season, just click on a date very far away and then 'sim without interruptions'
