Declerq finishes third from the break, Ciolek finishes third from the peloton, and neither of them gets on the podium.
That's kinda funny.
23rd and 25th isn't too awful in the end. Bringing an 80+ rider for every single stage and getting the best stage result from a breakaway is.
I guess Declerq needs full leadership here next year. This and Portugal showed that too much depth is detrimental with this AI.
Congrats to roturn, Boom doing what he exists for. And I expect a lot of other teams being very satisfied with their riders as well.
RBC, eBuddy and Aker with huge races are obviously awful for our rankings position. Still, I apologize again for getting personal towards you. It's not your fault that we're in this position.
Thanks a lot for your consistent and detailed reports Abhishek!

Yes! Boom with a great history here and finally winning it in his last prime year. As one of my first season riders already, this must be his biggest success clearly.
Basically his whole season was based for this late race and he delivered in style.
My top3 goal here was a bit risky as this race can end in so many ways but with the shown consistency of him I just had to go for it, so good it ended like this.
De Bie in 13th with some nice backup points. Surely normally a rider too good for this race in the hills. but just had 8 open race days I didn`t know to use much better.
Funny that it took me 3 or 4 seasons until I won my first GC. Then another one last year, which was the first in the PT, not changing a lot and then this is already my third PT stage race win this season. Can`t complain.
Thanks to your reports and to all the nice congrats on the previous pages. |

Congrats roturn! What a sweet victory for you! Love Boom as a MG rider so its cool to see him finally winning "his" race.
In the end i can be quite happy with 3rd place here. A few "what if" remain but this race is too unpredictable to not be content with that result
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Decent sprint from Saber.. to bad some escapees finished ahead.
Two stage podiums and a great 7th place in the GC make this race quite a success for Jayco. Vanspeybrouck didn't do anything special, but Saber definitely overperformed in the hills to get us a well needed Top-10 result here. Couldn't really expect him to survive with the best allrounders, even though his skillset is surely quite okay for this race. His time with Jayco hasn't been to succesful so far, I'm glad he delivered such a result now. He will hopefully be similar strong in Rheden.
Vanspeybrouck and Feng (as well as Durbridge's TT result) add some points, which is as important as Saber's GC result. We really needed it so badly. Still a way to go, let's keep up with this kind of stuff.
Congrats, roturn and huge thanks to Abi for the quality reports! Definitely no easy race to report, you did a great job. And this time, I finally could enjoy the results as well

Thanks for the reports. Too bad I couldn't enjoy past stage 3, because of David crashing out of GC contention for the second year running. Both times he was looking set for 5th or above in the GC.
Congrats to Boom and Aegon for a nice win, and of course congrats to Roman and Moser for securing the PT win. Leading by 150 points while having 2 more races than us - and being race favorite for both - it can't miss now.
Evonik and Aegon effectively secured their top 5 spots with these races, while also Jayco climbed away from relegation, and should now be safe with 500 or so points down.
Good races for Strava and Ayubowan! to keep on fighting, though, and Porto aswell as Tinkoff must be very uneasy at the moment.

Good to see Sinkeldam trying to rescue something from the race.
Too bad Van der Velde lost his place in the top 10, but at least Vermeltfoort kept the KoM jersey. And of course, this stages marks Gerts' first big result. Hopefully there will be more to come
Thanks for the reports!

Tom David came 6th (I think) when he was unmaxed with similar stats to Gerts. The past two seasons he crashed out of contention - so that's Gerts' future for you

3rd and 6th is actually a very nice ending for this stage race for us. Although it has to be said that it is quite a shame to see Avelino only do well in the flat stage which is won by the break. Congrats on the victory dev.
And congratulations roturn on such an emphatic win.

Absolutely! I'm dying for the Copenhagen - Malmo TTT to bring us some respite. October is going to be an absolute nerve-wracking month!
Thanks for all the reports Abhishkek!

I think this race may sum up my team in a nutshell - in isolation a really good result, in the situation we're in probably not quite enough. We'll soldier on from here, but really we're going to have to rely on luck and others underperforming from here if we want to stay up
Great reporting Abhi, enjoyed reading throughout! |

Big congratulations, roturn! Cool to see Boom pull it off in his final season being maxed. Really great stuff from him, making his consistency on the GC stages count, before his outstanding ride on the hills made all the difference.
Must admit I have mixed feelings after this race, which undoubtedly was the race I looked the most forward to this season. Kristoff does a brilliant race considering his stats, and 6th overall is a great result by him. Breen also with a consistent and solid race, landing 16th overall. Trentin on the other hand, was very disappointing. Having said that, I can't be too hard on him, as he has done great in general this season. Just unfortunate to see him that passive in the race that should suit him the best, at least on paper. Of course, I suspect he was also restricted by Kristoff's GC position going into the hilly stage, which is a pity, as it certainly could have been a very good race for him as well. 12th place overall is basically a "meh" race, looking at the chances he seemed to have here.
Another very nice thing though is that we won the teams classification. Must admit I thought that one was going to slip when I read the hilly stage, just to realize we just survived. Now we only need to pay MGUCI enough money to implement ranking points for the team classicication in the classics as well, not only in stage races |

Great ride by Sulimov during stage 7, but of course that is followed by an epic fail on stage 8
Thanks for the reports!

Good race for my team with stage win & two 2nd places. Also nice to see Dege sneaked into top10 eventually. Just a pity he managed to lose 7 minutes within last 19kms of cobble stage.
Late but huge congrats to roturn, cool to see Boom winning! And thanks Abhishek for brilliant reporting.
