Great to see Rein take those bonus seconds. Should be a close final TT.

So Close, at 700m I thought I had a shot, but it wasn't to be. I now have 4 inside the top 22 which isn't too bad, I am just lacking a leader, I guess Kashechkin can't be everywhere.

Was really hoping for Vasquez here. Think the TT will be really close between Kritskiy and Taaramae. Leader's jersey bonus probably playing an important role.
Congrats to Avin for the stage win!

What a bummer for Vasquez, a good climb though with Alarcon again nowhere near his usual dominant self. That said Pozzovivo, Taaramae and now Kritskiy are top drawer climbers as seem here.
The two climbing stages have done the damage, the top three will battle it out in the time trial set up for a fun finale.

I enjoyed the report so much, i read it three times. But the result probably played some role in that.
Popovych finally provig himself against the top climbers of PCT, his first win in our colours and showing his ukrainian champ jersey on the line, sponsors should be delighted.
Popo is not far from leading duo, but i will be more than happy with 3rd place in GC, that should not be a big problem against Pozzo.
Sorry Repsol, Vasquez was a hero of the stage, congrats for this result too! Our Tour of Vancouver is one big success so far, very important points to stay in top 10 for one more month possibly.
Edit: Strange that Popo is now holding with the three best climbers in the division as he was loosing on them a lot in first encounters. I hope this will continue at some more races.

Bad luck for Repsol, but congrats to Metinvest.
My boys were good today, maybe they can salvage the race in the TT with a double top10, which isn't impossible.
Teams classification would be good as well but Repsol has a good lead, and in all honesty they deserve something out of this race.
Now onto the final duel between Kritskiy and Taaramae. I'm curious.

Pozzo seemed to have decent form here, so it's a shame he's not on the podium going into the TT.
It's a bigger shame though that he keeps having to race against Taaramae and Kritskiy. |

Can't be annoyed with GC top 5. But thought Alarcon had found his form at the end of last month.

That was an improvement from stage 4, at least. Still not enough to salvage the race, as I find it hard to see Caruso finishing inside the overall top 10. He should overtake Stetina and might also pass Gadret with some luck, but he will still most likely get crushed by Nicacio, Plaza and Keizer. I'm guessing he'll end up in 12th, but fingers crossed for better.
And excellent reporting, Count. I'm really enjoying the race, even though things aren't really going as well as I'd like them to for my own team.

Mezgec's win does at least bring me some points here, but i still don't understand why i chose the American rankings as a goal while my strongest riders have most of their racedays elsewhere...

What a dominant race by Kritskiy. Tinkoff on their way to promotion if Kritskiy continues do deliver like this. |

Great reports Count! The whole race.
Was really hoping Taaramae could overtake Kritskiy but well. The Estonian deserved more as he was better in the mountains.
Let's hope stage 2 was the last stupid pcm farce of the season but that's highly unlikely.

This. Great indeed!
Shit race for Oz though. Sure, i couldn't expect a great result here, but better than a Top-40 for Rogers should have been possible.. Won't be the last disastrous race i fear..
