We also have returned the 'Donate' button to the website on the left hand side, which has been absent since CrueTrue stepped down. Any contributions to help towards the running of the site are always welcome.

New administrators!

We are pleased to announce the addition of two new adminstrators to our team: jph27 and tsmoha. Neither needs much introduction as both have been active members on this site for a number of years. Both will be able to offer great support towards our existing site initiatives, and who knows, maybe on some new initiatives too!

Congratulations to them, and thank you to all others who applied for the position. I am sorry that this took so long to sort out, considering that applications were initially advertised a few months ago!

Console game news

As well as PCM 2015, the Tour de France 2015 console game is also released this week for PS3, PS4 and Xbox One. Cyanide released a dev-blog this week which talks about increasing the realism of this game. This includes the addition of race day condition (AKA daily form) and stage objectives which boost recovery if achieved.

Man Game Madness

After the season began last Monday, racing has continue with a fast pace. The Tour of Qatar was a sprinters festival in the ProTour, while at the C1 level the Tour Down Under saw a close battle between the puncheurs, hilly sprinters and breakaways. The Vuelta al Tachira is the only active race at the moment, featuring the first breakaway of the year.

The ManGame Betting system is running after a pilot at the end of last season, giving a reason for anyone to follow the game - not just those managers involved. Bets are currently open until Tuesday for 4 upcoming races.

Thread of the Week

Nothing PCM 2015 related this week, although I will take this opportunity to say that the Pro Cycling Manager 2015 section of the forum is now open for business. The Critérium du Dauphiné has attracted plenty of discussion this week, but my thread of the week is PCM.Daily Favourite Cyclist Contest [Season 6]. The knock-out rounds are under way, with 4 matchups to vote for on each day. We've already seem some very close votes and that will only continue this week, as the game moves on to Round 2.

PCM15 Round-Up

Just 11 days until release and we are getting tons of new information about the new game. The week started with the release of the Official Gameplay Trailer. This gave us the first real look at all the new additions and changes to PCM15 and it certainly sparked discussion.

On Thursday Cyanide put out a DevBlog focusing on the all-new Be A Pro mode. This gave us a lot more details about the new game mode that so many fans had been asking for. And alongside these there's been regular announcements about which team's are lisenced in PCM15 via Twitter.

Old Versions Still Alive!

But don't throw out your old PCM's just yet! This week we got two more DB's to play with. The first is Udoi DB All Time for PCM13, which is a DB featuring the greatest riders and teams of all time. All mixed up together and set loose in great style, and on some unique stages as well. It's been a long time coming to the Download section but you can now get it here.

If you want something more up-to-date then gorge yourselves on the JESGD 2015DB V2. Updated stats and just a whole raft of changes, fizes and additions from Jesleyh and Sgdanny make this one of the most well rounded andbest 2015DB's available for PCM14. Downlod it here.

ManGame Madness

RACING! The 2015 ManGame season has now well and truely began. Following the pre-season Bay Crits and Continentals today we saw the opening races for all three divisions. The CT teams began with the Clasico San Cristobal, a hilly race dominated by Severstal's Jose Mendes. The PCT teams mixed it up with the Down Under Classic, where a late breakaway denied the sprinters as Evonik's Mark Dzamastagic took glory. The PT teams were last off in the almost mountainous Badaling International. Yuri Trofimov resumed normal business as he soloed to victory.

Exactly three months since the end of regular-season 2014 racing and the ManGame is back underway!

Thread of the Week

Got to be honest i was expecting this to be another week for a Cycling thread. Then the community throws one hell of a curve ball! My thread of the week is Buying PCM15 from steam where we explain what Steam is and compare the prices of the game. But please hold try and hold off until we can get the site supporting links in place.

More detail on new Pro Cyclist mode
Pro Cycling Manager 2015

In Cyanide's latest developer blog, released this afternoon, Eyolfur has provided more detail about how the new 'Be a Pro' Pro Cyclist mode will work. You can read all about it here.

It talks about the motivations for adding the mode, and more importantly, how it will work. You create an under 23 aged rider at the start of the career, with the age and choice of rider type determining the initial stats. You'll start on either a continental or pro-continental team, and work your way up the ladder through achieving results, and from daily fitness rider development.

In the races itself you have no control over your teammates, and receive limited information about what is going on in the race beyond the group that your rider is in. Your teammates will support you if you are a team leader, and the ability to move you rider left/right - which was patched into PCM14 - will be of great benefit during sprints or key moments.

The blog closes with a hint at what may be to come in future years, and they are open to suggestions from communties on that. This includes more interaction between your rider and the rest of the team, and the possibility of a pro cyclist multiplayer mode.

PCM15 Gameplay Trailer
Pro Cycling Manager 2015

PCM15 Gameplay Trailer + Analysis

Cyanide has released it's first actual gameplay trailer for PCM15. Watch the full trailer on Youtube. But here's a run down of what we can learn from the trailer.

BMC are once again COM. There's visual change to in-race HUD, nothing major just an altered style for the same information. 200 competitons across Road and Track, so a good number of races included with the game to begin with but probably not 200 real life routes. Plus in-race it's as pretty as usual.

We get a look at some of the new Career screens. Completely new layout to the Rider Info screen which should be much easier to navigate around. The "Scout Report" button is new as is the display of Potential, which i think is cool. Equipment Sponsors are back in the same set-up as PCM14, hopefully it works this time around.

Still no return of the "7 day" calendar we lost after PCM13 but the general Career UI is cleaned up and looks very nice to me. The background color now matching your team colors is a nice touch and i think is very nice. Functionally nothing seems to have changed much just the way things are laid out.

The Fitness Curve system doesn't seem to have changed. You'll still pick rider objectives that define their fitness for the season. Also Etixx are not licensed. The next in-race shot shows a zoomed in climb profile which is new and a great little addition. There's mention of an updated progression, training systems and scouting but we don't get a good look at them so not much to say. There's also mention that we can now have a Development team, but that will probably be locked to WT teams, again we don't see anything.

Confirmation that you can alter a riders trajectory will be in the game from the start, and not just patched in later on. Nice feature that will be useful for the "Be-a-Pro" mode. And speaking of Be-a-Pro we get a look at some of it! Name, region, height, weight, skin color, picture, age and specialization are changable options so now you really can put yourself in the game. You'll get to pick between three teams, and we see what one of the Dev teams might look like in the form of an Ag2R jersey. We then get a look at training properly and it is a lot more detailed, at least in Be-a-Pro.

It finishes off a brief mention of multiplayer. Up to 16 players in Road Races. And it doesn't end with an image of the Yellow Jersey sprinting on the Champs Elysees!!!

There's quite a number of changes this year and the focus has been put on Be-a-Pro mode and Career modes. It's what we as a community have most strongly been asking for for several years and Cyanide have listened. I think it looks great and we are just a few weeks away from finding out!

More TDF/PCM 15 Announcements

We're at that stage of the year where Cyanide/Focus is putting out new information a couple of times a week in the final run up to the releases of the games. To keep right up to date follow @PCyclingManager on twitter. Every day they confirm a fully licensed team.

On Friday we got 4 new screenshots. The usual fare really, a couple of peloton images and a couple of Elysees images, including the standard Yellow jersey attack on the Elysees.

Most interestingly was a new DevBlog about Pro-Team mode in the TDF console game. Here Cyanide detailed a lot of new information about one of the big games modes of the game. The biggest bit of news is the inclusion of not just the Crit Int and Dauphine as standard, but that all three races (Int, Dauphine and TDF) come with a variant route as standard!

For the Crit Int this is a flat stage, no ITT variant, and a cool looking stage up the Mont Ventoux. Not exactly realistic but should be pretty fun. The Dauphine has a mix of stages including a hilly stage on Corsica, realism apparently not important, and a stage finish on the Alpe d'Huez. The Tour de France variant is actually the 2014 race route, beginning in Yorkshire and heading over cobbles and onwards.

Giro All Over

For the last three weeks the Giro d'Italia has dominated the site's cycling section. Today it came to another surprising and dramatic finish with Alberto Contador crowned race winner. The weekly discussion threads have regularly been the most popular threads on the site as this most action packed of Grand Tours delivered something new every day. Now we've got just enough time to recover before the Tour kicks it all off again!

PCM.Daily's Favorite Cyclist

The 6th(!) edition of the competition is scheduled to make its return tomorrow. Again it will be run by Mresuperstar who does a terrific job each time. Last year Marcel Kittel just edged out Vincenczo Nibali to the title. Previous winners include Gilbert, Voeckler, Voigt and Nibali. Can the Shark podium for a third year in a row? Will we get our first repeat winner? Is it going to be an easy walk for Bakari?

Thread of the Week

Just like the last couple of weeks i refuse to select the Giro thread. You can tell summer is here as there's more going on than ever on the site. There's a whole range of community activites i can chose from. The Man-Game pre-season events come close. The Daily Song Contest comes close as well. But my thread of the week goes to the CX:ND Game Thread! Ian Butlers reports are some of the best writing on the site, and the players mimic that with incredible responses. By far the highest quality thread of the last couple of weeks!
