I'm proud to introduce a new crew member: Panaflex. He hasn't been a member of this site for long, but with his great knowledge about PCM, his linguistic skills and his helpfulnes it's obvious to everyone that he's a perfect guy to have in the crew. Panaflex will help out on a lot of different areas. Since he's a part of many different PCM-communities he's able to "catch" news from other parts than the English-spoken, and hopefully that will benefit you, the members. Also, we are currently working on a new initiative which he will be a big part of.
About Panaflex: He's a 22-year-old German, living in Berlin, but studying International Business Adminstration in Frankfurt, Germany. He speaks a lot of different languages, and that, as I mentioned before, makes him able to participate in other PCM-communities than the English ones.
Still searching, though Even though we have hired one doesn't mean we are done hiring. If you feel like being a part of a growing PCM-website send me an application in which you explain why we should hire you and what you can offer. You can contact me by sending me a private message (PM) or by clicking "Contact" in the left side.
After one of the most active weeks in the PCM.daily history we're now ready with the weekly news :)
Site improvements Throughout the week several of you have participated in the "Ideas"-topic in our forum. I have worked on some of your suggestions, and that has resulted in the following improvements: - We have created a new section for 2007 databases, meaning that we now have 3 categories for databases: 1 for historical databases, 1 for 2006 databases and 1 for 2007 databases - We have edited the ordering of the files. Now, the files are ordered by when the file were added. Before, it was ordered by the name of the file - We have also edited the ordering of the screenshots, so the latest screenshots are showed first. - We have also cleaned up the Downloads section. Now, you can only find the latest version of a file; not the old ones. - Some files, including RSM News DB 1.3, has been offline a lot during this week, but these problems have been fixed permanently now.
The new version contains a few fixes, including the movement of Allan Davis to Discovery Channel.
Final version of PPDB Europe 2006 released After an uncountable amount of fixes a new version of the very popular PPDB Europe 2006 has been released. Basically, it's just the original version, but with all the fixes included. For the same reason, I have deleted the fixes and replaced them with the final version :)
PCM Spain releases 2007 DB The guys at PCM Spain have become known for their very good 2006 DB, PCM Spain 2006. Now, some of the guys from that team has released a 2007 DB which contain everything you need for the 2007 season, including a lot of new graphics. Unfortunately, only a Spanish version has been released, meaning that the race names only are in Spanish - but except for that, it's a great pack which is really worth trying.
Another 2007 DB - Pepsi 2007 This DB is also a 2007 DB. However, it does seperate a little from the ones above: It's release in two versions. The light version which we host here at PCM.daily contains the basics which is new jerseys and new mini-jerseys. The large version does, however, contain a lot more, including new commentaries (only French) and new music.
Two new backgrounds For the first time since the opening of this website we can present two new backgrounds. The first one illustrates Patrick Sinkewitz, and the 2nd one shows pictures of Thor Hushovd and Saul Raisin. Both can be found in our Backgrounds DL-category: http://www.pcmdaily.com/downloads.php?cat_id=6
2nd version of 1976 DB released A new version of the 1976 DB has been released. The new version contains a new calendar which are more realistic and a new invitations system which should make the invitations closer to reality. Apart from that you can of course also find the needed jerseys and mini-jerseys.
The future of cycling - try it out! This DB is a futuristic database, forwarding you to the year of 2012. Some of the old teams still exist, but the world of cycling looks a bit different now compared to 2007. The best climber of the world, José Rujano, is riding for the first Brazilian team ever, Team Globo. Yaroslav Popovych has lived up to his potential, but has left Discovery to join Unibet.com.
PCM.daily still searching for crew I will just quote the post I made a few days ago: "Ever since the opening of this site we have searched for new crew members for this site. Since then, we have lost crew members, but despite that we have also had an increasing activity on the site which can of course be connected with the increasing amount of members. To keep up the high standards of the site, and to develop new ideas, we would like to hear from anyone interested in developing the one and only English PCM wesite. We don't require much, but we don't just accept anyone just to have crew members. Therefore the following is expected: - You are good at English (no one is perfect, and personally I'm only average - so no, you don't have to get an A in English) - You are interested in developing new ideas, writing articles, updating the download database ..
We are also searching for graphic artists. We don't really use much graphic at this website, but once in a while we do need new graphic. Therefore, if anyone is interested in doing small "jobs" for PCM.daily once in a while, please feel free to apply.
To apply, either send me a private message at this website or click the "Contact"-link in the left sidebar."

Another week of PCM-news has past, and as always you can get them here ;)
Story part closed down As you might have noticed our menu is now shorter than ever before ;) We've decided to remove our Story section, because it was very buggy and didn't work the way it was supposed to. Instead, we have opened a forum category called Stories, in our forum in which you write your own PCM story :)
New exciting database projects It has become a habit at PCM.daily to comment new database projects. This week is not an exception. We've seen a lot of new and quite innovative projects which have not been seen before.
The most noticeable is the NFL Database which is made by the French forum member at Cyanide Fireman. As the name suggests it willl contain the teams of the American Football league, NFL. The teams will be built up like this: Leaders = Quarterbacks Co-Leaders = Primary Running Back Sprinters = Primary wide receiver Cobbleriders = Kickers .. and more. Currently, only Indianapolis Colts have been completed so it's still far from being done.
Another funny database is the Political Database. The DB is being developed by "Imthebestcoach" and it'll contain 20 teams. Since it's a French database it will contain the different political parties in French, but it will, however, also contain the greatest democrats and republicans of the USA, CDU and SPD in Germany and the governments of Great Britain, France, Spain and Italy, and it will also contain the most powerful politicans of Africa, Asia, the Eastern Europe and the Southern part of America. Currently, no release date has been given, but we are of course looking forward to see if Bush is a better cyclist than Hillary Clinton ;)
A Football Database is also underway. Not much has been published about the project which is made by FRANCK94 but at this point the following teams have been completed: Ajax AZ Alkmaar Anderlecht As Monaco Aston Villa Atletico Madrid
Want to build your own database? If you want to help making databases, now is your chance. A database team is currently searching for new members for their team. It will be a 2007 database and will include a lot of graphical work. The leader of the project, ginger_ale, is specifically searching for people who know something about the continental teams.
2007 Stages Pack #1 I've collected all the 2007 stages which I could find and have collected them all into one package. There might be more out-there, and when I find them I will include them into a new pack. However, the first version consists of stages made by Jape90, and these are included: GP_Knetemann, Tour of Murcia, Tour of Switzerland, Shay Elliot Memorial, Ster Van Zwolle and Tour of Flanders.
A little delayed, here's last week's most important news :)
Rasmu89's 2007 DB updated I don't know why, but French people really like to release "patches". Whenever they release a DB it'll be followed up by a lot of patches. The PackRasmu89 2007 DB has been released in a lot of versions, and throughout last week it made it into its 4th version (not counting the patches, that is). Since then, it has also been followed up by patch 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 and 4.4.
Looking aside from that it's a great 2007 DB containing a lot of graphical extras, including all the shirts, accesories, mini-shirts, photos, cadres, equipment and more. For the same reason the pack is huge (more than 200 mb), so you'll need an okay connection to download it ;)
Please notice that the files are not hosted at PCM.daily:
Cyclocross Manager now even more realistic After having worked for a long time on the 1.1 upgrade of the original Cyclocross Manager pack it was on Sunday the 4th.
The 1.1-version fixes the following: - World cup bug. - Riders from Zimbabwe have black faces. - All national jerseys are workingn now. - Teambudgets are higher. - Improved startlists for single player races. - Good jerseys for national teams during world championship. - The length of some stages is lower.
For those who are yet to try it out, the Cyclocross Manager-pack is a free "add-on" to PCM which changes your game into a Cyclocross-alike game. It contains a totally new calendar with built-from-the-scatch races, new teams and riders which are true to the Cyclocross-world, etc.. You can read more about the pack and see screenshots from it by reading our news-article about it: http://www.pcmdaily.com/news.php?readmore=14
Another fixes pack for PPDB Europe As with the Rasmu89 2007 DB the PPDB Europe has also had a uncountable amount of fixes since the release.
The new pack contains the two latest fixes for the PPDB Europe. The first fix is for the neutral championsjerseys that didn't work in the release-version. The 2nd is a fix for the Tour Med which will work in the 2nd season with this fix.
Ivan Basso takes the double For two months ago you guys predicted that Ivan Basso would win the Giro 'd Italia. Last month you also predicted him to win the Tour de France. In our latest poll Ivan Basso managed to get 35 % of the votes ahead of Alexandre Vinokourov (21 %) and Alejandro Valverde (16 %).
It's more interesting, though, that 4 % voted that Jan Ullrich would win the Tour de France. Now that he has ended his career I'm pretty sure we won't see him on a bike at Le Tour ;) Also, if you look at who voted for Carlos Sastre most of them (if not all) are Danes ;)
The new poll is more PCM-related - which DB is the most popular DB currently? At this point, PPDB Europe 2006 is the most popular, but we're far from over..
World Championship in PCM2? On Cyanide's Forum a Polish guy has declared the he will host the official World Championship in Pro Cycling Manager 2. However, according to Cyanide themselves, no one has been given the right to organize the championship yet. The CEO of Cyanide, Storm, is currently in USA (probably to promote the PSP version of PCM) and is therefore yet to decide who will be the official organizer of the World Championship. Storm will return on the 12th of March and no decision is really made before that.
