EuskalPCM 2008 Pack 27. January 2008 20:00 from CrueTrue
To avoid corrupted downloads and speed up the downloads a lot, we recommend using a download manager.
The first "real" 2008 package. It includes an updated DB with 45 teams (Pro Tour and Continental teams), shirts and accessories. Since the pack is 200+ MB, I suppose they have included other things too, but they are not listed in the official announcement.
Installation: Open the file with WinRAR. Double click the EuskalPCM-folder, and drag all the files to your main PCM-folder (f.e Program Files/Cyanide/Pro Cycling Manager 2007/)
Insane stats. The idea of capping maximum stats at 78 is interesting and might make breakaways have a better chance of staying out.
but the difference between riders is too low. Contador and Soler differ in a few RES points, for instance. this means that form of the day is pretty much the only thing that matters. Had good form in the mountains of the tour with Antón/Cunego/Pellizotti/etc? congratulations...you just won the tour. weird.
The sprinter's stats are just a colossal mistake. Freire and Chavanel have the same sprint stat. it's tje Acceleration stat that differs. uhm. two things about that:
1. that wouldn't normally be enough of a difference
2. The Acceleration stat has been disabled. So that means Forster, Chavanel, McEwen, Boonen, Petacchi, Napolitano, Davis, Hunter, Freire, Hushovd and Bennati are all equals in sprinting speed.
by the way, the above post was just a sample. There are many more things I think are wrong in the DB, from just looking at it.
Testing it is of course very different. I haven't done it but my little brother tells me races are just as chaotic and "anyone can win" as could be expected from a first glance at stats.
yeah, that will take some time, i can tell i'm having the idea of starting a project with PCMBenelux...and pcm daily has it's project, but it takes time to make a good database
these 2008 databases (euskal, bourinof, GCT) are all rushed and not good
good/bad anyone?
