Question Creating a Team?
EMO_24
I pre ordered Pcm2009 today at Ebgames in Australia and release date here is 25th June. They say a new feature is to create a team. Do you think you will just be given a choice of shirts for your team or can you create your own.? Can't wait for this game.

It will probably be a generic jersey with different color schemes. But as in other PCM games you can replace these jerseys with fantasy jerseys. It is possible to use the fantasy jerseys created for PCM08.

yes! I don't want to redo all the work.

Yeah, it was confirmed in the open bar.
There are 10 premade jerseys. The directory to replace the jerseys is easy to find, just replace the jersey file, the new one appears in race.

okay this is frustrating...and i feel like an idiot...but whats the directory to change the file for the fantasy jersey for create a team? And do I have to use a specific name for the jersey i replace it with to get it to work?

C -> Program Files -> Cyanide -> Pro Cycling Manager - Season 2009 -> CM_Textures -> cycliste -> team -> any of the c0# folders

replace your jersey with the c0#_maillot and rename your jersey to c0#_maillot. make sure its .tga

I didn't try, but my guess is that it's also possible to create a new c00-folder, e.g. c10.

Just thought I'd chime in as this was driving me absolutely crazy this afternoon.

Even if you replace the jersey in any of the c# folders, it will still show the default on the jersey selection screen in custom team creation mode. However, once you get into a race, the proper fantasy jersey will be used. So if you are trying to use a fantasy jersey in custom team mode, use the c00 folder, or count the number of jerseys until you get to the folder you put it in.

For this reason, I don't think c10, ect. can be used as you can still only click through the default jerseys on the selection screen.

Of course I could just be doing something wrong, so someone please correct me if they've found differently.

(This is with the latest patch + the PCM.daily expansion pack installed)

Quavis- I ran into the same problem, but I got so aggravated by it that I never bothered trying to even go into the season.

Also I don't know if I was doing something wrong but regardless of the team name I input it is always displayed as all CAPS. And don't worry I made sure the CAPS LOCK was not on. Is this something everyone else gets too?

One more stupid question, as I am not the best with the DB creation/editing, or any programming for that matter, but when I put in a new jersey what will I get for the national champ jerseys, will it go back to the default style that I am replacing?

Does anyone think that it will be included in a future DB all of these things will be included, a new custom team shirt pack including national champs jerseys? Or is it going to take us replacing them ourselves?

Sorry if these all seem a bit stupid, but my passion for cycling is just that a passion for cycling. There is not much knowledge there when it comes to DB programming etc...

I always have this happen as well. Doesn't make much difference with shorter names, but it is a real bother on long ones.

I'm not possitive on this one, but i believe it will be replaced with the default national championship jerseys. I think theres a way to replace them with custom team national champions jerseys, but I honestly don't know how and think it probably requires individual jerseys for each one.

Edit: just checked on my US Postal team, shirt for Austrial champion does change to default national champion shirt (with no sponsors at all), shorts stayed the same.

There's a reason behind all the madness Wink

About the "jersey not showing up"-part, it's because PCM has two shirt designs: the in-game shirt and a preview shirt (mini shirt). The one that shows up in menus, before a race, etc. is the mini shirt, and this one isn't generated automatically, meaning you or someone else have to make it. They are located in Gui/team_shirt

The Caps Lock thing is, I guess, done automatically by the game, because the teams in the standard DB all have capitalized letters - so it'd look weird if your team had non-capitalized letters.
In the PCM.daily DB, we decided to use low-case, simply because it looks more 'proper'.

If you want to change your custom team into lower case, you will probably have to change it with an DB editor. One comes with the game and is easy to use (in the opening menu before you enter the game, click "DB Edtior"Wink. When selecting the save game, go to My Documents/PCM/Database/Solo/OfficialRelease. Pick it, scroll across to "Teams" and find your custom team and change the letters.

If you have the PCM.daily DB installed, there may be some error reports when you open the Team selection. Just click "OK".

On the subject of national shirts, it will use the default national champion shirts. Again, if you want one designed for your team you will either have to make it yourself or ask someone else to do it. To implent them, they will have to be called e.g. c01_maillot_usa (for USA) or c01_maillot_den (for Denmark), etc., and be put in the c01 folder in CM_Textures/cycliste/team.

I hope that answers your questions.
