Tips for Transfers

hey, have beem PCMing for a few months now and am having major trouble trying to sign new riders at the end of the season. Doesn't seem to matter how much I offer for a rider (double the asking price even) I'm getting knocked back. I'm currently playing with LRP Brakes and I can't get riders from other continental teams let alone pro tour teams to come on board.

If any wise old PCMers have any tips or tactics for clinching that perfect transfer deal then I'd be glad to hear them.

Just to clear it up: Are you going for free agents or contracted riders?

Basically, it's way easier to get free agents / riders with expiring contracts.

Contracted riders. I had a good year and ended up with just under a million quid to spend. I wanted a half decent sprinter to take over from Petacchi when he retired, but noone wants to sign. I was going for ageing sprinters who still had good stats, but even oferring £900,000 for a £550,000 rider gets knocked back.

In cycling, 'buys' from other team happens very rarely - unlike other sports, e.g. football. Instead, teams go for riders with expiring contracts or free agents, and this is actually quite realistically reflected in PCM.

Fair point Crue, fair point. Do the management experience points have much affect on your success in the transfer market?
