Stage 2 pretty much resembles stage 1 except that the organizers found some bump in the road where they award KoM points.
The break looks pretty much like yesterday’s although Kaislavuos companion today is White.
And the resemblances continue when Kaislavuo wins his next intermediate sprint. Carsi once again wins the sprint for 3rd, although his manager would probably be happier if he focussed on the final sprint instead.
The Finn also wins the last intermediate sprint, thus taking the virtual points lead. Ganjkhanlou is third this time.
The break is over with 36 km to go. The KoM sprint is due in 9 km so probably some happy domestique will get a nice jersey for his trophy cabinet to commemorate his hard work today.
And Tuyizere is the lucky one. The neo-pro shows some promising race instinct by demanding the next rider to take his turn just on the line.
With 16 km to go we have five trains in front. From left to right they are for Ganjkhanlou, Perera, Carsi, Manninen and Harrison.
With 5 km to go the sprint preparation got messier.
With 3 km to go the trains for Ganjkhanlou and Plowright are in front.
But with 1 km to go the Kiskonen and Manninen tandem is back in front.
With 600 m to go the duo is still in front. Perera and the duo of Marin and Carsi seem to be the only others still in contention.
Perera has a clear lead with 200 m to go. Manninen seems to have missed the right moment to launch his sprint.
And Perera wins another sprint! Manninen finishes in 2nd.
Behind them Mudgway just gets the final podium spot in front of Carsi and Luchshenko. Harrison, Plowright, Ganjkhanlou, Jimenez Retana and Skerl complete the top 10.
Congratulations to Perera for another win this season!
Tuyizere is the first KoM leader of the race.
White was able to stay with the peloton and is the new U25 leader.
