April is over and we are starting to move into the warmer months, but before we move into May we have to summarize April! It started of with GP Herning for the PCT teams and finished with Dwars Door Vlaanderen. Between these bookends we have had some higher scoring races, a lot of great results and a lot of dissapointments.
At GP Herning Simba Cement - Tanga Fresh was the highest scorer with a great result from Nipuna Shira Manamalage. Together with Aviv Yechezkel he scored some important points for them in the battle against relegation. Also Minions and Lotto-Caloi came away from this with some good points
Badaling International was a race with more scoring potential and Tryg - Eni left the race with a strong haul. Tobias Halland Johannessen the big scorer for them with his 140 points. This proved a good race for Norwegians with Odd Christian Eiking being the second highest scorer of the race, even though his team Gjensidige Pro Cycling Team was beaten by 3 points by Bolt - Eesti getting more depth points
Continuing to Poland and Tour de Pologne where Hunter Valley Cycling is the top scoring team, right in front of Colombini Kometa who had the highest scoring rider in Neilson Powless, with Michael Storer right behind. Gjensidige Pro Cycling Team once again scored well from Sindre Skjostad Lunke this time. This was also the first race of the month from the team leading going into the month, Specialized with Ronnilan Quita scoring most of their points
Hunter Valley Cycling followed up with another great result in Tour of Slovenia, getting 259 points with Nicola Conci and Jaime Castrillo headlining a strong team effort. Rokas Kmieliauskas was the highest individual scorer here for DK Zalgiris. This was also one of many races where Minions scored well with both Yoann Paillot and Dusan Kalaba getting good points
Tour de Faso had less points to offer, but Specialized once again had a good race with the 2 highest PCT scorers in Amith Udaya Kumara and Guillaume Van Keirsbulck. Lotto-Caloi being the second highest scoring team in this race, with Minions in third
Minions continued their good trend being the top scorers from Lincoln GP with Michael Boros. Duvel-Tsingtao and McCormick Pro Cycling following up with some nice points themself
GP Wallonie saw Ekoi - Le Creuset get 140 points from Aurelien Paret-Peintre scoring them all. Duvel-Tsingtao with a good haul from Alberto Bettiol following suit and Assa Abloy also having a good race.
Lisbon Classic saw once again Specialized scoring well, might be a reason they are having a good season? Sergey Medvedev was the rider to really perform this time! Tryg - Eni also had a good race with Casper Pedersen as the top scorer, but several depth points aswell. Gasper Katrasnik helped Ekoi - Le Creuset. Several other teams aslo left this race with a good amount of points, inclucing McCormick Pro Cycling, Hunter Valley Cycling, Assa Abloy and Gjensidige Pro Cycling Team
Going to Netherlands and the flats with the PTHC race Veenendaal - Veenendaal Simba Cement - Tanga Fresh became the best PCT performer with 102 points. Olivier Lecourt De Billot their main performer. JEWA TIROL close behind with 90 points coming from Marildo Yzeiraj, Thomas Boudat, Fabian Lienhard and Axel Laurance. While they scored less points both Hunter Valley Cycling and Trans Looney Tunes left Netherlands with nice pprd here
The last race of the month Dwars door Vlaanderen was far from being the best scoring race for PCT with 39 pts from Minions being the best result. Mathias De Witte scoring most of them. Bralirwa - Cegeka was the second highest scoring team with 24 while Lotto-Caloi got 20.
Taking a more overall look Hunter Valley Cycling was the best scoring team this month with 610 pts, and as far as I can see the only team to race all races this month. They also rise from 17th to 5th on the overall rankings. Another team to climb is Minions. They go from 16th up to 9th as the 2nd highest scorer (516 pts) in April. Specialized had a good month, 3rd highest scorers (419 pts) staying in 1st position, while Gjensidige Pro Cycling Team, even though they were the 4th highest scorers with 391 pts actually went down from 12th to 13th. Duvel-Tsingtao stayed in 15h while scoring well with 380 pts over the month.
Tryg - Eni another team to climb. 329 pts takes them from 9th up to 6th, really joining the promotion battle. Bolt - Eesti (300) and Ekoi - Le Creuset (295) keep their positions on the podium while DK Zalgiris climbs into 8th with their 286 pts). Assa Abloy (237) is another team staying put in 4th. JEWA TIROL had a very good Veenendaal who helps them to 228 pts and going from 19th to 17th.
Simba Cement - Tanga Fresh performed really well in some races, too bad those where not the ones with the most points on offer for PCT. they stay in 22nd with their 221 pts this month. Trans Looney Tunes is one of the teams loosing positions on the table. They scored 202 points this month and went down to 10th. McCormick Pro Cycling had pretty much the same story with 179 points and falling down to 14th. Just 1 points less this month takes Bralirwa - Cegeka all the way down to 11th from 6th, thile their neighbour last month Lotto-Caloi on 7th likes the friendship and joins them going down with 171 points into 12th.
MOL Cycling Team went into the season as the top favorite in the division, but only 160 points this month takes them out of 5th and down to 7th. IESE ProCycling Team on the other hand has by many been predicted to relegate and while 158 points this month is not among the worst they are not able to climb anywhere and stays in 23rd place. Another team down on the table actually climbs 1 spot from 21st to 20th. Colombini Kometa (147) got most of their points from 1 race, but it does take them closer to survival. Right in front in front of them on the table is Zwift - Newton Foundation who scored a bit less this month (133) and went down 1 spot from 18th to 19th. Spark Team NZ started the season really well, but April takes them further down the table. After leading the division in January they are now down to 16th after only 113 points in April, their season is going to wrong way at the moment.
3 teams scored less than 100 points this month, and the best of them is the worst on the table. Staying in last place after scoring 54 points is the talents of DeNA Roadstars. CT seems clear for them. Sauber Petronas Racing is still fighting , but going from 20th to 21st is not a good sign, only 38 points this month! But the title as the worst team in April goes to Everesting with only 28 points, falling from 13th to 18th and joining the relegation battle.
Looking at pprd Assa Abloy is right now the "leader", but there are 3 other teams over 20 pprd close to them. On the other end of the table here the 2 worst teams til now in the division, IESE ProCycling Team and DeNA Roadstars looks doomed
Odd Christian Eiking scores a total of 204 points in April and becomes the best rider this month, nearly 40 points in front of Rokas Kmieliauskas (Rokas only rode 1 race though) and Aidan Van Niekerk, who both scored 169 points. Ronnilan Quita had a good month for Specialized with his 155 points, while Michael Storer scored 146 for Hunter Valley Cycling.
3 riders scored 140 points; Aurelien Paret-Peintre, Tobias Halland Johannessen and Sergey Medvedev, with Nicola Conci only 1 point behind them again. 10th highest scorer, with 133 points this month was Neilson Powless, trying his best to save Colombini Kometa from relegation.

While he only had one race this month Tiesj Benoot climbed into 1st position with his 93 points from Poland, with Elie Gesbert climbing into 2nd. Last months leader Biniam Girmay didn't do anything this month and falls to 3rd, while Bryan Coquard falls to 4th.
Neilson Powless with his strong Pologne result goes from 9th to 5th, climbing in front of idle Przemyslaw Kasperkiewicz and Ruben Zepuntke. Caleb Ewan keeps his 8th place, while Rokas Kmieliauskas is the only new face in top 10. Climbing into 9th. Lucas Manuel Gaday is the last rider in the top 10, falling from 7th coming into the month.
The biggest climber this month (who had points previously) is Sergey Medvedev who climbs 208 spots into 49th, while the biggest fall is shared among Maral-Erdene Batmunkh, Saya Kuroeda, Seunghwa Joung and Thymen Arensman who all fall 40 spots.
Thanks for a big update Heine! A big month for us especially given the lack of non C2 cobbles on the calendar which then just made other riders step up with Quita and Medvedev in particular rising above it.
Being top for another month in a row even extending our lead a bit, but with teams such as Zalgiris, Assa and Ekoi still having a ton of RDs left in the bag with really good PpRD I don't think we're going to end up with the title at the end of the season but promotion is looking very likely as of right now I will be the first to admit!
Outside of DeNA and IESE this relegation scrap looks really tight for those final three relegation spots it's going to be a gruelling one to follow!
We've definitely limited our losses, more as I expected beforehand. Dropping from 7th to 12th is nothing more than logical. Still a nice cushion on the relegation spots.

Considering that there are only 3 races where we scored points, I'd say that this haul has been decent. Shame that Kukrle couldn't hang onto the GC lead in Tour de Pologne - it would've been one of the biggest upsets. Novak only raced in Badaling so far and his schedule is yet to come
It's been a good month for us in the end thanks to Wallonie and Lisbon, but I'm still a bit surprised we're still in 2nd. The PpRD still look very good and if we're able to stay up there after May and June (where we don't race much either and have some potential low scoring races) a promotion fight could actually be in the books.
Not the greatest month for us due to complete failure in Pologne, but still hanging in there, 4th in pprd, Lutsenko still has almost half his RDs left, and Kmieliauskas has a ton (only 13 used), so we should still be good
April was not great and not terrible for us. Overall decent results, but we’ve yet to have a race this season with a really big points haul. Really cool to see Gesbert 2nd in the rankings with still a lot of race days left, whereas Dainese is a little behind where we want him to be.
May will be a big race day driver for us with Tour of America, Balkans, Tropicale Amissa Bongo and some classics on the calendar, and sustaining our current PpRD will be difficult. Really impressed by both Specialized and Ekoi who seem to be able to score big results even when they don’t have a favorite, which is what you need to do win the division. Zalgiris is also to be counted with for the tittle battle in my opinion.
Thanks for the update! It has felt like quite a good month but we were in almost every race, so used quite a bit of RD to get us back in the top ten on points but not on PPRD. We need to at least keep this line of performances for the next months
A really strong month for us with big results from Storer, Conci and depth across the rest of the team. The big disappointment has been the C2 cobbles where our PPRD has taken a hit.
Great to see us fly up to 5th in the overall rankings but our projected is lower with the PPRD that we have. Going to be a big 2nd half of the season though as the classics are just about done so the majority of our race days left should be for the likes of Conci and Shikai who have some points to score!

What a great update, thanks a lot! For us it was an OK month I guess. Despite the sims stupidity in realizing who my teamleader is in stage races, we got good results in 1 day races. Looking forward to the next races!

All in all, a successful month, mainly led by Yikui Niu, shockingly, and some decent points from Bettiol. Improving the PPRD is all that matters, and even though we’ve used up 80 race days, a bird in the hand is better than 2 in the bush. Feeling a little more confident about avoiding relegation at this pace, which will give our talents some more time to develop, that’s what this year is about to set the foundations for the future. Still looks very tight down at the bottom, we’re certainly not in the clear yet, but it’s looking a little more promising (albeit in one of those PCT years where it seems several teams are mortgaging the present for the future - obviously good for the man game to see long term projects kicking off, but it helps a youthful squad like ours to stay up no doubt).
Finally, some luck going our way in April, but it's still not looking good. We'll most likely relegate back to CT, but there are still some big jumps in the division (looking at Hunter Valley and Minions), which show that nothing has been settled yet.
On the plus side, we haven’t really seen Choi in action yet. On the downside, almost none of our riders have performed according to expectations – only Lecourt De Billot and Manamalage have (over)performed with 50+ points.
