In the first half of today's stage we have most of the climbing that will be done in this race. And we two 2nd category climbs on the route, those who are eyeing the polka dots have to make sure they make it into the breakaway. The second half of the stage looks quite calm and it should leads us to a mass sprint.

With the first 2nd category climb coming quite early it was a fearce battle to not only get in the breakaway, but stay in the front group as well. Eventually, it was pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/aab.png Culey who reached the summit first, followed by pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/eko.png Katrasnik, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/eko.png Roosen and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/spr.png Al Mutaiwei. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/anz.png Gaze also was among those who managed to breakaway from the pack today, but he was reeled back in just as he was reaching the summit, but managed to hang on for 5th on the climb.
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C1/Tropicale/s2/1.jpg

The first four riders at the top of the first climb would eventually create a group which would be know as the breakaway of the day. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/eko.png Roosen was the last one to join the group and the one who had the most trouble keeping up the pace when it came to intermediate sprints and hunting KoM points.

We had a proper sprint on the second climb of the day, the 4th category one. It was once again pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/aab.png Culey who came out on top in front of pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/eko.png Katrasnik and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/spr.png Al Mutaiwei
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C1/Tropicale/s2/2.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/aab.png Culey was in a league of his own today, being first across the last summit of the day as well. 25 points in the bag and there's a good change the polka dot jersey winner has been decided today
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C1/Tropicale/s2/3.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/aab.png Culey had a filled day, winning two of the intermediate sprints as well

The breakaway had no change at suriving today and they were caught quite early with about 40km left so with 15km to go we could already see some clear sprint traings forming from pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/mol.png MOL, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/spz.png Specialized and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/snz.png Spark
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C1/Tropicale/s2/4.jpg

Things changed quite drastically in the next kilometers though as more and more teams were trying to put their sprinter in a good position. So with 3 kilometers to go the pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/mol.png MOL train was the only one that didn't seem to have lost any speed.
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/spz.png Specialized were derailed first by pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/spr.png Sauber and then by pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/trg.png Tryg-Eni.
While pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/snz.png Spark managed to keep their guys together they seem to be losing some speed, with two new trains emerging to their right: pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/aab.png Assa Abloy and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/gct.png Gjensidige
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C1/Tropicale/s2/5.jpg

One kilometer later, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/trg.png Tryg-Eni seemed to be the best put together train, with Huertas and Lander.
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/mol.png MOL were losing speed, with pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/spr.png Sauber now making their life hard and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/gct.png Enger who ditched his lead-out to move to other side of the road
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/spz.png Milan is doing quite a good job leading the Specialized train, but Van Poppel seems to struggle to keep the wheels in front of him.
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/snz.png Coquard is on an opposite situation. He has been able to keep the wheels of his team-mates quite well, but the Spark train is not going very fast at the moment and he looks stuck
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C1/Tropicale/s2/6.jpg

Under the flame rouge the situation has changed once more as it's now the main lead-outs who are out to show their speed. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/trg.png Lander is not as strong as Huertas was and the Tryg train is losing speed fast
Afte messing with pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/mol.png MOL's train for a bit, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/gct.png Enger has now found his lead-out and it seems to be a fantastic move as pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/gct.png Waersted seems to be the fastest one today
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/snz.png Edmondson has also found some speed, but while he managed to get out to the front, it won't be as easy for pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/snz.png Coquard, with some other sprinters and lead-outs intertwined between them
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/aab.png Assa didn't have the most impressive train in terms of numbers, but now Coutinho is about to put Abdul Halil in a dream position
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/mol.png MOL is still strongly represented at the front, now by Baterdene, but Ewan has slightly lost his wheel and he will have a few meters to make up
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C1/Tropicale/s2/7.jpg

The sprinters left it really late today and it's only with 300m to go that we see them properly trying to get out of their lead-outs wheel. From left to right, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/snz.png Coquard, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/aab.png Abdul Halil and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/gct.png Enger have found some space in time to launch their sprints
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C1/Tropicale/s2/8.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/snz.png Coquard seems to have the most energy left after being very well protected by his team-mates. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/gct.png Enger is fighting hard near the barriers, but his many movements during the lead-out might came back to cost him not only the stage win here, but the yellow jersey as well! Both he and Coquard finished well yesterday so they can snatch the yellow jersey if they get into bonus seconds positions. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/mol.png Ewan has found some space to launch from Coquard's wheel, but it's too late to contest the stage win for the Aussie
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C1/Tropicale/s2/9.jpg

And indeed it's pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/snz.png Coquard who comes up on top today. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/gct.png Enger 2nd, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/aab.png Abdul Halil 3rd. No podium for pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/mol.png Ewan who did seem to have the speed, just not the right timing, though you cannot say his team didn't put him in a good position today.
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C1/Tropicale/s2/10.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/snz.png Coquard and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/gct.png Enger also move into the first two positions in the GC, while pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/spz.png Milan will safely keep the white jersey for another day.
