Abhi and I are beginning to think about parcours for 2026. Now we have some experience with PCM24 we will begin to revise races to fit the engine better. Also the stage races that rotate routes each year will need new routes.
We could use people to help.
JT is already helping with some route review based on the new game engine and looking at whether/where cobbled sections should be harder. Thanks to JT.
We could use help:
1. Designing 2026 PT/PTHC race routes. This doesn't even require the game (although a little easier if you had it). Abhi will provide some guidance on the routes and the work is to find stages to create a route that meets that guidance and makes some sort of sense geographically. It also requires some graphic work to create the route JPGs for the races thread. This work is needed for the 3 PT GTs plus 4 week long races (PN, TA, Suisse, Dauphine). So if you ever wanted to design a GT this is your chance.
2. If someone wants to learn stage editing it would be nice to have a 2nd editor other than me. KB started down this path and so maybe he wants to continue but be good to have others.
I’m sure I’m not the best suited to do this, as I hardly know anything about the game. I Think it’s 8 years since my last game. Also I have never designed stages.
All that aside, I’ll be happy to help if you need it.

You really don't need to know much about stages or the game, just what makes a good grand tour in the mangame.
We'll outline a tour - something like: short ITT, MTT, lots of hills and mountains, a few sprint stages. Then it requires 4 steps:
1. Identify IRL stages that meet the need - since nearly all GT stages since 2010 exist for the game you have a lot of flexibility and you can just start on a site with the real routes. I usually find a real route that is similar to the outline and just modify with stages from other years to fix the gaps (e.g find a hilly stage from another year that can replace an extra IT in the real race). Also want to avoid routes that have been used in last 2 or 3 years.
2. Find and downoload the relevant stages on PCMMod, PCMFrance etc. 2010 to 2015 we have. Most other years can be found.
3. Send it to me and I will edit anything needed (things like changing IT lengths or adding a few k to avoid a downhill finish are easy, we try and avoid major changes). I will run a test and take screenshots (this is the step where having the game can help but not a big deal for me to do)
4. Take a look at the test results to make sure there aren't red flags and compile the final JPG and do the write up for the reveal.
So if you or someone else are still in let us know and which race you want to work on. We have to decide on GT outlines for 2026 so that may take a little time but there will be plenty of time to work on it.
I'd be down to lend a hand with this sort of thing if you need it, but having only raced TOA as my GT experience I might not have the same level of knowledge as some of the PT managers.
I'll still be very happy to help. Just let me know which race you prefer me starting on.
It might take a while as work starts again in 2 days, and I have to put a bit of effort into that with two new guys starting in the team I'm responsible for

Always a downer when work requires work.
Thanks Sammy, you can take a few of the smaller races if you prefer. Will reach back out to you both in a little when we have outlines. Should have plenty of time since our deadline is like May.
