Welcome to stage 8 of the Vuelta al Tachira. There are four cat. 2 climbs on the menu today and last year an attack from Kozhatayev over the top of the last one not only got him the stage win but also a decisive gap to claim the GC win later on.

No oneâ€™s fighting for the sprint points. The gap mostly pended around 2â€™40 and seems to go down even before the climbing starts. The first uncategorized climb is only some km ahead.
