The choice is whether to continue with the current tax system where tax is calculated on total money in or change to a system where tax is calculated on money in less money out (net income) but rates undergo a large increase as follows (from Knockout's proposal):
First 500k - 10% (up from no tax)
501k to 1.0 M - 20% tax (up from 10%)
1.001 - 2.0 M - 30% tax (up from 20%)
Above 2.0 M - 40% tax (up from 20%)
Under this system we would expect to see the total tax bill decline but only slightly.
Please also vote in the other poll which compares the current system to one that raises tax rates more modestly.
