12 teams with wildcard requests this year up from 8 last year and 4 of those 12 bought “all”. So we were oversubscribed in GTs and Stage Races and at maximum for monuments. People getting bumped from GTs opted to go for classics so by the end every slot was full. As a result a number of folks didn’t get what they wanted.
Generally, managers who got bumped out of one tier got preference in other tiers.
We had 9 requests for the 6 GT slots. Four of those are making their GT debuts: Colombini, Trans, DeNa and Spark, they all get a place. Next in are Specialized, not sure if it is a GT debut for them but it has been a while. The final entrant is Bralirwa who last rode a GT in 2022. Tryg, Minions and Gjensidige lose out.
5 teams wanted monuments so they got 2 each and mostly was able to give top preferences.
In stage races everybody wanted the longer ones – so those got shared with preference given teams missing out on the GTs and then based on priorities.
Classics are also fully subscribed – tried to give some credence to manager priorities but also was just trying to get to a fair number of race days based on spending.
Full list is below.
For teams receiving wildcards - in the first spoiler at the bottom are the race IDs you need for your Planner. In the second spoiler is the PT-level values that should result in the check the the last step in part 1 of the planner. Other race level check values can be found in the planner thread.
Thanks Ulrich! Really excited to have our first ever GT! Carlos will be excited to suit up for that one and head to his home country! Really excited to race in that one!
Congrats everyone who got their preferences Seems a decent spread!
Congrats to all who got races! Not tremendously excited that we'll see Kasper in all of our cobbled goals this year, but at least we won't have to deal with Wisniowski this time.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy
So we will be able to show our new colors even in Top races.
Vuelta, Liege- Bastogne - Liege & Giro di Lombardiaare the highlights. With Tour of Northern Europe & Chrono des Herbiers also.
Will be great for our young riders but we might wanna also show a bit more in some races.
Very glad I didn't save up for a GT, as I suspected they would be oversubscribed and we'd have the lowest priority.
In the end the decision was to try to get as much free XP as possible, so will just be sending unmaxed riders to both - not that we could send anyone who would really worry PT teams anyway!
