Selamat siang dan selamat datang di markas baru tim balap sepeda Indosat Ooredoo Pro Tour!
Welcome to Indosat Ooredoo's 2025 team HQ (which also comes with the empty promise of being updated way more regularly) for the upcoming 2025 MG UCI cycling season!
Ringkasan singkat musim 2024 dan pratinjau singkat
"A brief recap of the 2024 season, and a brief 2025 season preview"
Our 2024 PCT season was very successful and resulted in our promotion to the MG UCI Pro Tour - the highest level of cycling. We return after a brief 2 season stint in 19' - 20' which saw the team achieve some incredible highs - winning monuments and GT stages - and also some crushing lows which lead to our eventual relegation to PCT.
The team has undergone many changes since our last PT stint, namely the investment in both building a strong core of Indonesian riders as well as investment in one plucky Irishman - Eddie Dunbar. Dunbar was signed in our return season to PCT for a staggering $815k from the free agency. With a little bit of extra work each off season Dunbar has become the most accomplished rider to ride in the team's colours, culminating in winning the PCT Individual standings and finishing 2nd in the Worlds ITT last season. Promotion means stiffer competition and less opportunity, but he hopes to make the most of it.
Tujuan dan Informasi tim jangka panjang
"Long term team goals and other information"
After 10 seasons in the MG peloton, 2024 was one of the most successful seasons the team has had to date both on and off the road. Following the success of the team, cycling fanaticism is exploding across the Indonesian archipelago. Amateur teams have been popping up all over, and participation at junior levels is higher than it has ever been. The PTHC Tour of East Java was a celebration once again, with a stacked field of some of the best riders gracing the roads on the island of Java. While we weren't very active in the race, it was a great 4 days of raacing.
For the upcoming season, we are looking to continue to foster our Indonesian talents and hopefully unearth several more. The Firdaus brothers have continued their development with Ahmad reaching his potential in time for the upcoming season. His brother Prasetyo is aiming to be in a similar position this time next year.

No sponsor changes for the upcoming season, but Mos burger have signaled that this will be their last season sponsoring the team. Other sponsors are currently being sought out to replace them. ANZ's contract with the team is also ending, it is unknown if they will be returning next season.
Our renewals were average, not spectacular but also not catastrophic - a fine balance! Dunbar had one of the most expected wage increases with his training + results from last season, and his wage now closely resembles his skill. Bagioli, despite his terrific season took a wage cut. A.Firdaus and Wibisono finished their development and understandably demanded a higher wage. Besides that, it was just the usual yo-yoing of the core riders of the team. We said goodbye to 8 riders - Justo Tenorio, Abdul Gani, Clement Venturini, Brendan Canty, Aiman Cahyadi, Murilo Affonso, Owain Doull and Wojciech Pszczolarski. Although Tenorio was with us for only one season, he turned back the clock and put in some great rides to help us on our way to promotion. Gani and Clement both leave the team as age is catching up to them - Gani has been with the team his entire career and as a former RR NC for Indonesia will be sorely missed.

As with every year, take this list with a grain of salt. Availability is moreso 'likelihood to leave' - every rider is available to negotiate for the right price. That price however depends on how likely they are to leave.
Dunbar we don't see leaving, but if the right offer comes in anything is possible (that offer would have to be quite decent though ). Definitely not a strict 'no'.
Bagioli was a welcome addition to our team last season, finishing 14th in the PCT standings with 700 points. We would very much like for him to remain with the team, but are unsure if we can accommodate him and will definitely listen to offers.
Sakalou is a decent hybrid on a great wage and is C2 eligible - he will be leaving the team. Cash preferred, swaps possible.
Rubenis is already an alright cobble/sprint domestique, and will only get better as he continues his development. We don't have the capacity to keep him without any cobbled riders, so he will be leaving the team.
Van Vliet is also available, the Aruban stage racing talent will be hitting the open market. A future GT level stage racing/climbing dom, he'll be very helpful in almost any team setup.
Any Indonesian rider that receives an offer will incur an additional 15% tax to their perceived value - buyer beware.
Bagioli is another of those riders who were great when guest-starting in Avenir for us. He doesn't fit into our plans, but he's clearly a great rider to have for anyone!
@SotD: Not many interesting availabilities this season, so he will happily be having his first foray into PT
@ KB: Bagioli is future world beater - sadly he's no longer with us, but hopefully we can convince him to come back one day
2025 Jersey reveal
Our wonderful jersey designer hillis91 has been hard at work during the off season break, and has been able to create this wonderful kit that the team will showcase throughout the season. It's quite a bit different and streamlined to what we've worn in the past, and we can't wait to show it off. We're stoked, and again a huge thanks to hillis

2021 World Road Race Champion Fernando Gaviria has joined Indosat Ooredoo for the 20235 MG UCI cycling season! Largely considered the fastest man on two wheels, Gaviria has decided to join Indosat from the Free Agency after the demise of his former team, the legendary Moser. He also becomes the highest paid rider that has ridden for the team, in front of Jan Bakelandts in 2019 and Eddie Dunbar in 2022.
Gaviria is a rider who really needs no introduction - a former world champion, winning the rainbow jersey in a tense race in New York in 2021 for then team, Isostar. Gaviria has had a storied career, racking up many wins and points. He joins Indosat after a successful season last year that saw him win an incredible 6 stages at the Vuelta Espana as well as the points jersey - beating his previous record of 4 stage wins in the 2021 edition of the Vuelta.
Gaviria is the second WC that has ridden for Indosat along with Matt Goss, the 2014 RR WC.
Gaviria joins us in our return to the PT, and we couldn't be more excited. He will be our joint team leader alongside Irishman Eddie Dunbar. He has expressed his desire to potentially take part in another GT as part of his schedule, of which is currently being worked on. Transfer plans have shifted to organising a strong supporting cast to support Fernando throughout the season. He has recommended several riders he would like to join him here that he feels will bring out the best in him - more on this at a later time.
Please welcome the worlds' fastest man, Fernando Gaviria!
Before the off season I would have expected Gaviria to be higher than 920K, as you have a top 10 PT rider for two seasons in a row - and him likely going a bit lower next season.
It's a very nice pick I think, and you seem to have build pretty well around him too. I hope to see him help you get a solid season in the PT!
@Abhi: Thanks Was getting pretty close to my threshold, not sure how much higher I would have been able to go. We shall see if he can justify the pay day.
@SotD: I was expecting 1m+, similar to when he was on the FA a few seasons ago so am just as surprised that we managed to bring him in for less than 1m. Equally as surprised that it was only Abhi and myself actively after him as well. Originally wanted to go with Ewan, but the lack of interest in Gaviria made it an easy decision to get in on the action with him.
It's been a bit of a slog to bring in decent enough support riders, so hopefully they can do enough during the season to allow Gaviria to do his thing
@alex: Ah, I thought nobody noticed that And thanks
Honestly not that bad for Gaviria in the end. Not that much more than what he normally renews at, which is crazy in these market. I'd be concerned if he was your only leader, but with Dunbar, Latour, Stussi, you're absolutely stacked and ready to compete for a top finish in PT right away. Very well done!
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy
Gaviria and Dunbar is such an awesome pair of leaders. Wow And really a big fan of that kit too!
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant." [PT] Xero Racing
As the season winds down and the last GT of the season has finished, I thought we'd go back and look at our performances during our first season back in PT.

Basically 'Gaviria's team'. A strong leadout with Stussi as a free rider to go for the GC, and Zwiehoff to carry his bottles.
Team Goals
Stage wins - 3
Gaviria is the best sprinter in the world, here with the strongest leadout we could provide him - He hadn't had a great season up until this point so the pressure was on to perform in a strong field. The Giro featured the most sprinter-friendly stages of all three GT's, so the competition was expected to be strong.
GC - Top-15
Not a very ambitious goal. After seeing how strong the startlist was, a top-10 was thought to possibly be a bridge too far. A top-15 seemed more realistic as Stussi would be here basically without support and would probably be amongst the breakaway lottery in week 3.
Win - Points Jersey
An ambitious goal - a strong field as well as a strong contingent of GC riders means it would be no walk in the park. Gaviria and Kemboi went blow-for-blow and the jersey was up for grabs all the way to Milan.
Notable Results
Fernando Gaviria
- 1st, Points jersey

Race Recap
Sprint train organisation on Stage 2
There was a lot of anticipation for the teams' first GT in 5 years - quite a lot of pressure was mounting internally with star recruit Fernando Gaviria's average start to the season following a poor showing during the Tour of Qatar. The team was selected to help get the best out of him, as well as Stussi for GC.
Gaviria ended up having a very strong race, winning three stages and taking home the points jersey (our first ever GT classification win). It didn't start well though - apart from a strong showing on the first sprint stage on stage 2 where he finished 2nd, he failed to land on the podium on the following sprint stages until finally taking a victory on Stage 6 due to a monster leadout from Nur Hasan. Gaviria's leadout continued to be inconsistent - it fell apart on Stage 16 where he had to put in an enormous effort to sprint from over 1km and managed to take a huge win alone. It finally clicked in time for him to seal the points classification in a tense final stage into Milan, where Gaviria took a convincing win to stave off Kemboi for the points jersey.
Gaviria wins Stage 6 in front of Max Kanter and Salem Kemboi

Colin Stussi was here riding his first race for the team as a leader. He didn't quite hit the heights of his GT escapades from last season with former team JURA, but was solid nonetheless.
He managed to keep up with the main contenders until Stage 14 where he dropped out of the peloton for unknown reasons and lost 6', dropping out of the top-10. He then prioritised breaks, but didn't have any luck until the huge final mountain stage on Stage 20. He and Orluis Aular of Los Pollos managed to decimate the breakaway and make it to the finish, with Aular taking a big win and Stussi dropping on the final climb and finishing 2nd on the stage. He managed to move from 17th ---> 13th GC and secure our pre-race goal of finishing in the top-15.
Stussi finishes 2nd on Stage 20
The Giro was definitely a successful return to GT racing, with Gaviria redeeming his season and Stussi's consistent riding in the mountains keeping the points ticking over.
Fernando Gaviria wins the points classification at the 2025 Giro di Italia!
The second and most prestigious GT seemed to come up fast. A little bit of history - It has been 5 years since we had last rode the Tour, where a stage podium by Pim Ligthart was the best result we achieved in a very grim race. The year prior, in our first ever Tour, Costa Rican climber and team legend Gregory Brenes gave us an exciting intro to GT racing when he and Brit Hugh Carthy (riding for Bolt - Eesti predecessor Farfetch) dueled in the mountains for the polka dots. Brenes led the classification up until the pointy end of the race before running out of gas in the final stages and eventually losing the jersey in Paris by 3 points to Carthy.

Led by the Swiss duo of Stussi and Frankiny. Stussi is easily the outright leader, with decent mountain support from Frankiny, Zwiehoff and young Indonesian Hefnar. Nur Hasan was brought long to contest the flat stages with loanee Silva acting as his pilot fish.
Team Goals
GC - Top-10
Our team goal was a top-10 in the GC which we believed could be possible until the startlist was released. A lot of strong riders were present and we were thinking we'd be riding our luck chasing results from breaks to get anywhere near a top-10. As well as top favourites, there were a lot of secondary leaders of a similar strength present which made it seem like we'd need a lot of luck wo get anything meaningful from this race.
Stage wins - 1+
We brought a decent mountain contingent that realistically should be able to get into breaks, as well as Nur Hasan as a strong secondary sprinter who should be able to fight for results.

Race Recap
Coming off a respectable Giro result, Stussi was hoping to have another crack at a top-10 GC result in his final GT as a maxed rider. He had a decent enough support squad along for the ride with him that should hopefully be able to keep him at the pointy end of the peloton for as long as possible each day.
Nur Hasan mixing it up with the top sprinters on Stage 1
The race started off well enough with sprinter Nur Hasan being in the mix for the stage win on the first stage. He managed to get involved in most sprints in the first week or so, but failed to make it onto the podium. The race then moved to the TTT where we were expecting a bad result which we certainly got. Stussi was already on the back foot 5 stages in, but recent history has shown that might not be the worst thing.
Stussi finished 3rd on Stage 13 on the mighty Mont Ventoux
The mountains brought more mediocrity, Stussi managed to ride well enough to stay in reach of the big dogs and Zwiehoff did try his hand in the BOTD on stage 10 to Superbagneres, but could only manage 9th on the day. The tide turned on Stage 13 when Stussi, Zwiehoff and Frankiny joined the break on a brutal stage finishing on the legendary Mont Ventoux. Stussi rode very well with his companions and managed 3rd on the day and moved up to 16th in GC, just under 2 minutes outside the top-10.
Week 2 started terribly, with Stussi losing almost 4 minutes on a flat stage and s few seconds again on the next. This apparently set him up to go for it on the 'queen stage' of the race on stage 16 up the legendary Alpe d'Huez.
Stussi attacks Le Tour with Lecuisinier up the Alpe d'Huez on Stage 16
He joined the BOTD with some big names and went on an absolute tear as soon as the remnants of the break made it to the Huez, dropping them all. Lecuisinier jumped out of the favourites group and the two rode almost to the top together, Stussi finally relenting under the flamme rouge and finishing off a great day with a 2nd place.
[/]
Stussi finishes 2nd behind Lecuisinier on Alpe d'Huez.
The next few stages were relatively uneventful, with Stussi managing to move up to 14th in GC, before entering a very strong break on Stage 19. Stussi and four others managed to resist the peloton up the final climb, where unfortunately he couldn't shake former Indosat alumni and Polar rider Andrea Bagioli again finishing 2nd on the stage. This would move him up to 9th, with only the ITT remaining to seal an amazing third week run into the top-10.
Stussi again misses out on the win up the Joux Plane on Stage 19
Stussi rode a respectable ITT on Stage 20 and defended his 9th place successfully, which all but confirmed achieving his goal of a top-10. The final stage in Paris ended uneventfully with Stussi sealing his top-10 and Nur Hasan having a go in the sprint.
Groves wins on the Champs-Elysees, Nur Hasan involved in the sprint behind.
Summary
Le Tour was a definitive success. We achieved our most important goal with Stussi's 9th GC and had some great stage results. Stussi was very unlucky not to win a stage, but rode a brave race and could have finished even higher in the GC if not for his time loss on a flat sage.
Thanks to Imladrik for the images from his fantastic Tour reports!
