The Boys in Green are back for a seventh year.
As a keen follower of any mystical stuff he comes across on social media Manager MacC is convinced that the 7th year is a lucky one and great fortune will come to Glanbia this year,
For those that don't know the back story:
Following Brexit, Irish food conglomerate Glanbia sought new markets in English speaking countries. The result was a cycling team based mainly on Irish riders but taking in American, Canadian, NZ, Aussie and South African riders.
The ethos is based around a strong TT core and Stage Racers although last year was a bit of mad year with all this thrown out the window.
MacC has promised the sponsors a return to "traditional values" this year.

The above table shows the history of Glanbia with the total points at the top for each year. 2023 was our one and only PCT year where despite a huge season for legend Ryan Eastman- he won the Tour of America- the team slipped right back into the CT

In terms of renewals the sad story, the real end of an era type stuff folks ,is that Sam Bennett and Sean Downey, two ever present legends have not been renewed
Both were long term leaders and both accumulated over 500 career points for Glanbia.
Downey is the only Irish rider to win a race for Glanbia...it just won't be the same without them,

Sad the see two stalwarts leaver from the early days, but they will surely enjoy retirement and remain present in a new way.

Always cool to see historical stats, and I've really enjoyed seeing Kennett at such a good home, one of my most regretted renewals moments was losing him after his development but glad he's found somewhere he can be a leader and appreciated. As you say Bennett and Downey are so representative of Glanbia so far and sad to see them go. Sure they can stick around the team in some capacity in the future

Always an interesting project to follow with the strict focus, and looking forward to seeing what you do this season - particularly seeing how you move back towards the stage race/TT focus |

Two interesting South africans on that maybe list, especially for teams that like those lower level GC riders
Next season you should consider asking for a stat increase in Ben Healy if you were to release him, as there aren't that many subtop irish riders in the DB. Despite the DB looking more interesting as of late I guess

There is less gold colour on the jersey, but hopefully there is still a pot of gold left for transfers?

Ricardo Broxham to secure a permanent move following on from a successful year on loan? An absolutely gorgeous jersey in that signature Irish green. Excited to see where you take the team this year with the promised return to form.
