how do they work out the riders average ability?

On G. Larson's Pinarello story James Sampson has an average of 68. If you look at his ratings his average is clearly not 68, it is in fact 65! So why has he got an average of 68? is it a mistake or is there a reason for it?

Also, if his real average is 65, will he ride like someone with an average of 65 or will his 68 average make him better.

Can't remember which ones, but the average is not the average of all the ratings - only of about 6 of them. Wink

anyone got any idea which 6 are important?

i'm guessing prob hills, mountains, flat, tt, sprint and cobbles.

I think it is the top 5 excluding downhill and maybe acceleration or fighting. if you play around with a culculator it should be easy to work out
