Neither the V2 of the DB allows to contract free agents at the begining of the game. Is there any way of enabling to contract free agents at the begining of a new season?

If you had read the '09 DB: Technical Q&A' topic, you would have seen this:

Question: I can't sign riders at the start of the season. Why?

Answer: Unfortunately, the rule only counts in 2008. In 2009, you have to do with the squad you've got
