Game refuses to advance day

I just started playing PCMGeeks 2003 Database and upon reaching the day before the Daupine, the game refuses to advance a day. I click the button to advance to next day and the advance bar pops up, but no results. The game just sits there. I read a thread about letting the game sit for 20 minutes and then come back. I actually let the game sit for 30 and no results. Is something else going on? Thanks!
