good that you got it back up though. I saw it happening in real time, first the files that shown the last page of forum posts dissapeared, then the whole forum stopped working, then the whole site.

At first, I feared that it was yet another hacking attempt, but this time, it was a false alarm. Actually, the reason for the crash was a bunch of minor coincidences. The server was upgraded a while ago, and during this upgrade, some settings were reset. One of the settings was the logging settings which limits how large the file can be - with the upgrade, this wasn't set, meaning that the log kept increasing until the server ran out of free disc space.
