25k to go, a 4-rider break of amateur riders has a 57-second advantage over a 104-rider peloton being led by Lierse and Lidl.
Early in the final climb prior to the finish the break is caught. Van Asbroeck on the front having attacked and bridged up to the break.
A series of attacks lead to group getting a gap over the top. In the front group are 5 of the strongest puncheurs in the race: De Bie, Benoot, Waeytens, De Plus, and Van Poucke. Fastned massing on the front of the peloton to shut them down, Vanhoucke currently leading the chase.
3.4k to go and the attackers are brough to heel by Van Hooydonck and Van Keirsbulck. Van Poucke launching a counter.
The counter goes nowhere and with 1.2k to go and the riders on the final climb De Bie has the lead with Vansevenant right behind him.
500 meters. Still De Bie versus Vansevenant with Meurisse and Vliegen just behind them.
De Bie fades and Benoot comes charging up the left to take the lead.
Benoot wins it with room to spare. Sony - Force India has a second NC to celebrate.

Van Moer is the clear favorite in the TT, we will see if he is more successful than the clear favorite in the road race.
The outsiders for the TT title are 3 of the young guns of Belgian cycling: Herregodts, Evenepoel, and Weemaes. They all pass the 2nd time check on the same time. Herregodts proves the best of them beating Evenepoel by 1 second and Weemaes by 2.
But his time on the hot seat doesn’t last long as Frison sets the new best time by 38 seconds.
Van Moer is the last man to finish and he gets what he came for – a Belgian National TT title. He beats Frison by 29 seconds.
