Let's look at all participating teams in detail:
| | | | | | | | | Amaysim Australia.com | PT |
| Last name | First name | Country | Age | HL | ST | RS | CO | | | Christensen | Ryan | NZL | 27 | 70 | 76 | 74 | 52 | | | Culey | Marcus | AUS | 30 | 65 | 77 | 76 | 53 | | | Edmondson | Alexander | AUS | 30 | 64 | 72 | 71 | 74 | | | Kench | Josh | NZL | 22 | 64 | 68 | 71 | 67 | | | Monk | Cyrus | AUS | 27 | 66 | 76 | 70 | 76 | | | Schreurs | Hamish | NZL | 29 | 67 | 75 | 75 | 77 | | | Sweeny | Harry | AUS | 25 | 71 | 67 | 76 | 67 | | | Wohler | Alex | AUS | 31 | 66 | 72 | 71 | 51 | |
This Oceanic core will be happy that the cobbles season almost comes to an end.
Cyrus Monk had their best PT/PTHC result with a 28th place in Paris-Roubaix. Maybe they can surprise through a breakaway.
| | | | | | | | | Binance | PT |
| Last name | First name | Country | Age | HL | ST | RS | CO | | | Bush | Robert | USA | 33 | 62 | 73 | 71 | 77 | | | Gough | Regan | NZL | 27 | 65 | 66 | 69 | 63 | | | Matsangos | Alexandros | CYP | 24 | 68 | 71 | 68 | 72 | | | Mengoulas | Alex | GRE | 26 | 68 | 72 | 69 | 70 | | | Noppe | Christophe | BEL | 29 | 69 | 74 | 73 | 73 | | | Palyi | Csaba | HUN | 33 | 70 | 70 | 71 | 70 | | | Van Lerberghe | Bert | BEL | 31 | 66 | 75 | 74 | 77 | | | Vanbilsen | Kenneth | BEL | 33 | 68 | 78 | 72 | 79 | |
Binance will count on their leaders Kenneth Vanbilsen (10th in Paris-Roubaix) and Robert Bush (15th in Macskako).
Bert Van Lerberghe is also ready to contribute some minor points.
| | | | | | | | | Colombini Cycling | PCT |
| Last name | First name | Country | Age | HL | ST | RS | CO | | | Aquilani | Andrea | SMR | 24 | 66 | 69 | 70 | 64 | | | Bdadou | Youssef | MOR | 23 | 71 | 69 | 67 | 70 | | | Blythe | Adam | GBR | 34 | 63 | 71 | 66 | 79 | | | Bonello | Daniel | MLT | 23 | 68 | 70 | 69 | 70 | | | De Bondt | Dries | BEL | 32 | 67 | 72 | 69 | 72 | | | Jele | Kwanele | SWZ | 23 | 62 | 69 | 71 | 55 | | | Martino | Stan | SMR | 23 | 65 | 71 | 70 | 67 | | | Sprenger | Felix | LIE | 24 | 66 | 72 | 69 | 65 | |
The first PT cobbles outing for Colombini if I'm correct.
Probably Adam Blythe won't shine as before, but he will mentor all these young guns around him.
| | | | | | | | | Evonik - ELKO | PT |
| Last name | First name | Country | Age | HL | ST | RS | CO | | | Ansons | Kristers | LAT | 24 | 69 | 70 | 70 | 67 | | | Bergstrom Frisk | Hannes | SWD | 28 | 68 | 71 | 71 | 61 | | | Krasts | Alekss | LAT | 22 | 69 | 69 | 68 | 59 | | | Kurianov | Stepan | RUS | 27 | 65 | 76 | 74 | 71 | | | Neilands | Krists | LAT | 29 | 69 | 74 | 73 | 78 | | | Polanc | Jan | SLO | 31 | 73 | 78 | 73 | 78 | | | Ulysbayev | Dinmukhammed | KAZ | 25 | 71 | 70 | 70 | 60 | | | Van der Haar | Lars | NED | 32 | 72 | 70 | 72 | 75 | |
We have our first favourite in this preview with Jan Polanc. The Slovenian won Ronde van Vlaanderen and was second in Macskako.
He gets a lot of support from Neilands (finishing three times in top-20 himself) and Van der Haar (three times top-25).
| | | | | | | | | Fastned | PCT |
| Last name | First name | Country | Age | HL | ST | RS | CO | | | Bovenhuis | Jasper | NED | 32 | 71 | 74 | 70 | 74 | | | Duric | Dorde | SER | 23 | 69 | 71 | 72 | 71 | | | Pluimers | Rick | NED | 23 | 66 | 70 | 73 | 64 | | | Renard | Alexis | FRA | 24 | 68 | 67 | 74 | 66 | | | Robeet | Ludovic | BEL | 29 | 67 | 72 | 75 | 74 | | | Van der Hoorn | Taco | NED | 30 | 70 | 76 | 69 | 75 | | | Van Hooydonck | Nathan | BEL | 28 | 71 | 75 | 74 | 81 | | | van Sintmaartensdijk | Roel | NED | 22 | 63 | 67 | 67 | 63 | |
PCT based Fastned brings Nathan Van Hooydonck as leader. He was ninth last year, just like in Paris-Roubaix this year.
That was his only cobbles PT outing this year, so he will be eager to perform.
| | | | | | | | | Gazelle | PT |
| Last name | First name | Country | Age | HL | ST | RS | CO | | | Hofer | Andreas | AUT | 32 | 65 | 74 | 72 | 55 | | | Lander | Sebastian | DEN | 32 | 69 | 77 | 72 | 73 | | | Malecki | Kamil | POL | 27 | 76 | 71 | 75 | 73 | | | Menicucci | Samuele | SMR | 26 | 70 | 73 | 73 | 72 | | | Mundle | Benedikt | LIE | 32 | 65 | 69 | 73 | 62 | | | Teunissen | Mike | NED | 31 | 67 | 77 | 73 | 81 | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |
And we follow up with another favourite: Mike Teunissen from Gazelle. The Dutchman finished seventh last edition.
He already was 5th in Paris-Roubaix, 7th in RVV and 8th in E3 Prijs this year.
| | | | | | | | | Indosat Ooredoo | PCT |
| Last name | First name | Country | Age | HL | ST | RS | CO | | | Ahmad | Firdaus | INA | 23 | 70 | 69 | 72 | 54 | | | Cahyadi | Aiman | INA | 30 | 75 | 70 | 71 | 58 | | | Firdaus | Prasetyo | INA | 22 | 58 | 68 | 64 | 60 | | | Kochetkov | Mikhail | KAZ | 32 | 60 | 72 | 69 | 52 | | | Venturini | Clement | FRA | 30 | 68 | 74 | 74 | 72 | | | Wibisono | Rachmad Noka | INA | 24 | 69 | 70 | 72 | 55 | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |
No big ambitions for Indosat Ooredoo here. Clement Venturini can maybe aim for a breakaway.
| | | | | | | | | Kraftwerk Man Machine | PCT |
| Last name | First name | Country | Age | HL | ST | RS | CO | | | Colombo | Filippo | SWI | 26 | 67 | 71 | 70 | 70 | | | De Buyst | Jasper | BEL | 30 | 70 | 73 | 75 | 75 | | | Juntunen | Antti-Jussi | FIN | 24 | 70 | 65 | 69 | 61 | | | Mathis | Marco | GER | 29 | 67 | 67 | 74 | 62 | | | Sommer | Jan | SWI | 23 | 63 | 68 | 68 | 68 | | | Uhlig | Henri | GER | 22 | 61 | 63 | 68 | 68 | | | Zhupa | Eugert | ALB | 33 | 66 | 77 | 73 | 76 | | | Zubov | Matvey | RUS | 32 | 63 | 70 | 69 | 79 | |
First PT cobbles race for Kraftwerk Man Machine this season.
A top-20 for De Buyst, Zhupa or Zubov will be a realistic goal.
| | | | | | | | | Lampre - Pinarello | PCT |
| Last name | First name | Country | Age | HL | ST | RS | CO | | | Daniel | Maxime | FRA | 32 | 69 | 76 | 76 | 80 | | | Kumara | Amith Udaya | SRI | 28 | 67 | 74 | 70 | 75 | | | Medvedev | Sergey | UZB | 28 | 63 | 75 | 74 | 67 | | | Milan | Jonathan | ITA | 23 | 62 | 69 | 77 | 63 | | | Riesebeek | Oscar | NED | 31 | 73 | 73 | 75 | 73 | | | Rowe | Luke | GBR | 33 | 65 | 74 | 68 | 74 | | | Thwaites | Scott | GBR | 33 | 64 | 72 | 68 | 75 | | | Van Keirsbulck | Guillaume | BEL | 32 | 71 | 75 | 73 | 78 | |
Another PCT favourite in Maxime Daniel from Lampre-Pinarello.
He will be supported by an experienced squad with Van Keirsbulck, Thwaites and Kumara among others.
| | | | | | | | | Lidl Cycling | PT |
| Last name | First name | Country | Age | HL | ST | RS | CO | | | Casillas | Jhonatan | MEX | 28 | 64 | 67 | 69 | 54 | | | Dekker | David | NED | 25 | 65 | 79 | 76 | 72 | | | Gee | Derek | CAN | 26 | 67 | 69 | 72 | 58 | | | Phonarjthan | Patompob | THA | 26 | 63 | 66 | 71 | 53 | | | Salzmann | Jodok | AUT | 28 | 71 | 77 | 76 | 77 | | | Stewart | Jake | GBR | 24 | 70 | 69 | 73 | 71 | | | Vermeersch | Gianni | BEL | 31 | 70 | 74 | 78 | 75 | | | | | | | | | | |
Lidl Cycling brings Austrian Jodok Salzmann as their leader.
He finished three times in top-15 this season, with a 8th place in Macskako as best result.
| | | | | | | | | Lierse SK - Pizza Ullo PCTeam | PCT |
| Last name | First name | Country | Age | HL | ST | RS | CO | | | Bagioli | Nicola | ITA | 28 | 77 | 76 | 72 | 60 | | | Biermans | Jenthe | BEL | 28 | 61 | 71 | 74 | 71 | | | De Plus | Laurens | BEL | 28 | 79 | 74 | 73 | 57 | | | Gamper | Patrick | AUT | 26 | 66 | 77 | 77 | 79 | | | Siddikov | Dilmurdjon | UZB | 26 | 65 | 76 | 75 | 70 | | | Van Aert | Wout | BEL | 29 | 66 | 72 | 73 | 68 | | | Verwilst | Aaron | BEL | 26 | 67 | 70 | 72 | 73 | | | Weemaes | Sasha | BEL | 25 | 62 | 74 | 70 | 55 | |
Salzmann has been followed in this preview by another Austrian favourite: Patrick Gamper from Lierse SK.
He is surrounded with a few Belgian riders who have some cobbles experience.
| | | | | | | | | MOL Cycling Team | PT |
| Last name | First name | Country | Age | HL | ST | RS | CO | | | Altur | Marcos | ESP | 30 | 70 | 75 | 70 | 82 | | | Basso | Leonardo | ITA | 30 | 72 | 78 | 73 | 73 | | | Carretero Millan | Hector | ESP | 28 | 71 | 68 | 62 | 57 | | | Filutas | Viktor | HUN | 27 | 75 | 71 | 69 | 54 | | | Kolev | Yoan | BUL | 24 | 68 | 66 | 66 | 55 | | | Majoral | Jordi | AND | 26 | 68 | 69 | 71 | 55 | | | Moricz | Daniel | HUN | 27 | 68 | 73 | 71 | 77 | | | Scotson | Callum | AUS | 27 | 63 | 73 | 70 | 75 | |
Marcos Altur is the king of consistency, his worst performance was 12th in Ronde van Vlaanderen.
Only downside that his best result was 7th on three occassions. Maybe Cheshire is his time to shine?
| | | | | | | | | Sauber Petronas Racing | PCT |
| Last name | First name | Country | Age | HL | ST | RS | CO | | | Chen | Mingrun | CHN | 27 | 72 | 71 | 75 | 56 | | | David | Tom | NZL | 33 | 74 | 75 | 73 | 77 | | | Forcellini | Luca | SMR | 33 | 73 | 68 | 63 | 51 | | | Ghani | Muhammad Suhaimi | MAS | 28 | 73 | 71 | 68 | 74 | | | Giulietti | Luigi | SMR | 24 | 68 | 71 | 70 | 71 | | | Marzuki | Nur Amirul | MAS | 31 | 74 | 71 | 72 | 74 | | | Rossi | Diego | SMR | 23 | 69 | 71 | 70 | 71 | | | Schoonbroodt | Bob | NED | 32 | 75 | 75 | 73 | 74 | |
Tom David leads PCT based Sauber Petronas Racing in Great Britain.
He finished 4th last year, maybe his age will become a factor this season.
| | | | | | | | | Sony - Force India | PCT |
| Last name | First name | Country | Age | HL | ST | RS | CO | | | Alben | Esow | IND | 22 | 63 | 70 | 61 | 52 | | | Benoot | Tiesj | BEL | 29 | 81 | 75 | 74 | 76 | | | Havik | Piotr | NED | 29 | 70 | 74 | 73 | 72 | | | Kooistra | Marten | NED | 26 | 65 | 72 | 69 | 69 | | | Kuroeda | Saya | JPN | 28 | 63 | 72 | 73 | 77 | | | Kuroeda | Shiki | JPN | 31 | 70 | 76 | 77 | 76 | | | Van Dijke | Mick | NED | 23 | 73 | 72 | 73 | 67 | | | Van Dijke | Tim | NED | 23 | 69 | 70 | 73 | 66 | |
Tiesj Benoot is far and away the best hybrid hills-cobbles combo.
Already a second place last year, his team Sony-Force India will hope for the top spot this time.
| | | | | | | | | Team Popo4Ever p/b Morshynska | PCT |
| Last name | First name | Country | Age | HL | ST | RS | CO | | | Dzhus | Volodymyr | UKR | 30 | 70 | 74 | 74 | 55 | | | Horvat | Ziga | SLO | 25 | 67 | 71 | 74 | 69 | | | Manamalage | Nipuna Shira | SRI | 31 | 59 | 71 | 64 | 77 | | | Orlov | Andriy | UKR | 31 | 76 | 74 | 68 | 55 | | | Papanov | Martin | BUL | 24 | 72 | 72 | 72 | 54 | | | Parashchak | Yaroslav | UKR | 23 | 72 | 68 | 69 | 58 | | | Pluchkin | Aleksandr | MOL | 36 | 68 | 68 | 68 | 63 | | | Zumer | Matic | SLO | 26 | 68 | 68 | 74 | 56 | |
No big expectations for Team Popo4Ever p/b Morshynska, perhaps a breakaway appearance.
| | | | | | | | | Team UBS - Tissot | PCT |
| Last name | First name | Country | Age | HL | ST | RS | CO | | | Balmer | Alexandre | SWI | 23 | 70 | 71 | 72 | 63 | | | Bohli | Tom | SWI | 29 | 68 | 79 | 75 | 77 | | | Brun | Nils | SWI | 23 | 71 | 71 | 69 | 59 | | | Grand | Arnaud | SWI | 33 | 64 | 72 | 68 | 76 | | | Jacobs | Johan | SWI | 26 | 69 | 77 | 76 | 78 | | | Schäppi | Martin | SWI | 27 | 67 | 74 | 72 | 76 | | | Spengler | Lukas | SWI | 29 | 67 | 74 | 73 | 83 | | | Stöckli | Jan | SWI | 23 | 71 | 69 | 68 | 61 | |
A stellar line-up full of Swiss riders. Lukas Spengler will look to continue his form from Paris-Roubaix, where he ended just outside the podium.
Tom Bohli (E3) and Johan Jacobs (Paris-Roubaix) both finished in top-20 this season, so the support is definitely there.
| | | | | | | | | Trans Looney Tunes | PCT |
| Last name | First name | Country | Age | HL | ST | RS | CO | | | Centrone | Ivan | LUX | 28 | 71 | 72 | 67 | 76 | | | Doull | Owain | GBR | 30 | 65 | 71 | 70 | 71 | | | Kolev | Iliyan | BUL | 29 | 62 | 73 | 71 | 77 | | | Lecourt De Billot | Olivier | MRI | 30 | 69 | 74 | 73 | 75 | | | Moulingui | Clenne Morvan | GAB | 28 | 71 | 71 | 71 | 78 | | | Murn | Bostjan | FRA | 22 | 65 | 71 | 72 | 58 | | | Peng | Yuan Tan | TPE | 30 | 64 | 74 | 73 | 75 | | | Sobrero | Matteo | ITA | 26 | 71 | 67 | 72 | 58 | |
Trans Looney Tunes competed earlier this season in RVV, where Lecourt was their best man at 36th spot.
Maybe one of their better cobblers can go in the breakway to aim a better result here.
| | | | | | | | | Xero Racing | PCT |
| Last name | First name | Country | Age | HL | ST | RS | CO | | | Boileau | Alan | FRA | 24 | 72 | 66 | 69 | 62 | | | Duyvesteyn | Kees | NZL | 25 | 72 | 65 | 69 | 60 | | | Hamza | Yacine | ALG | 26 | 67 | 72 | 72 | 62 | | | Lazkano | Oier | ESP | 24 | 72 | 66 | 69 | 60 | | | Novardianto | Jamalidin | INA | 29 | 68 | 70 | 78 | 69 | | | Ramirez | Jhon Stiven | COL | 24 | 66 | 65 | 65 | 60 | | | Strong | Corbin | NZL | 23 | 70 | 65 | 74 | 58 | | | Vermeersch | Florian | BEL | 24 | 67 | 71 | 73 | 73 | |
Xero Racing has brought a young line up to Great Britain, mainly for the experience.
Florian Vermeersch could be an outsider here in the coming years.
| | | | | | | | | ZARA - Irizar | PT |
| Last name | First name | Country | Age | HL | ST | RS | CO | | | Cardona | Julian | COL | 26 | 63 | 71 | 72 | 62 | | | De La Cruz Chapulin | Luis Fernando | MEX | 23 | 72 | 73 | 74 | 64 | | | Gilmore | Brady | AUS | 22 | 54 | 70 | 65 | 58 | | | Hesters | Jules | BEL | 25 | 63 | 72 | 74 | 71 | | | Miquel | Pau | ESP | 23 | 72 | 73 | 74 | 61 | | | Ovsyannikov | Alexandr | KAZ | 26 | 68 | 75 | 72 | 75 | | | Sam | Henry Alberto | GUA | 24 | 66 | 72 | 71 | 58 | | | Vandevelde | Yentl | BEL | 23 | 63 | 68 | 69 | 60 | |
ZARA - Irizar is the last team of the preview. Alexandr Ovsyannikov will hope to perform on par with Macskako, where he finished 16th.
All young riders in this squad, only Ovsyannikov has reached his full development.

Good luck to all participants!

Kinda weird to see Polanc at the top of the favourite list but he deserved himself the spot with his strong season. This could be a route that suits him better than many others so i'd like to see him riding the wave of confidence to another strong result.

Pretty much the only cobbles race we're missing this year, at least that I remember. kind of unfortunate given the weak startlist, but I guess the other top cobblers had similar feelings about the bands choices. Pulling for PCT teams then.

This race could be a make or break for our season, hoping that Daniel finally decides to show up. Thanks for a great preview!

The favourites list is flattering for Benoot but I don't see him repeating last season's result or even getting close with the kind of season he's having.
Thanks for the preview

Certainly think this will be a bit tough for Ovsya to get a noteworthy result but would be very happy if he can make Top 25. Otherwise it's a development race for us so hopefully someone can make it into a breakaway to get us a bit of air time
Thank you for the very comprehensive preview and hope it's an exciting race, even if we're not that involved!

Thanks for the report!
Love to see another Polanc win this year!
For us personally this race is seemingly ok, decent depth scoring but we're saved by GVK putting in one of his best performances in his PCT seasons. Max Daniel continues to have a mid year, not that I am surprised but he's not really cut out for this parcour anywhere!

Unreal season by Polanc. Absolutely love it
Victory reminds me a lot to the way he already won Flanders. Even outside of him, im very happy with how we raced here. Van der Haar is the perfect guy for those midrace shenanigans and also Neilands and Kurianov with great rides adding valuable secondary points. Love it.

Benoot made the wrong move. A shame because he looked strong enough to win the race.

No moves, wrong moves, story of our season
Still, 8th and 12th is a fine result, so can't complain too much. We will need to have this kind of results more consistently.
Congrats on the great win knockout and thanks for the report

Kinda weird to see Polanc at the top of the favourite list but he deserved himself the spot with his strong season.

I'm glad you've done the preview, Laurens, it's much appreciated. You're pretty accurate and I like your team-by-team approach which both I couldn't do myself. In fact, this way you're motivating me to not do the previews myself for the races I report
And of course congrats to knockout for the win!

Thanks for the kind words. It's the least I can do. The biggest shout-out is to you and your fellow reporters, you're the true heroes of the game

This one at least made perfect sense given the parcours and startlist, but Polanc is going crazy this year. Congrats to knockout!

5th in PTHC can`t be too bad I guess. Some surprise performances in hte mix but in total expectations fulfilled. More cobble points for the rankings and decent showing by van der Hoorn as well. |

Who knew that not being leader was holding Salzmann back all this time? Once again, a result that far exceeds expectations. Thanks for the report! |
