Welcome in Windhoek, Namibia, for a brand new event! Sure, the race has been raced from 2013 to 2020, but it was previously an individual time-trial. The break from last year allowed the organization to rethink their event, to make it a team time-trial. So it’s the same, but also all different. It remains in C1 category though.
13 teams are here today, only 6 of them being from the PCT. The race is 47,5 km long, with some inclinations, but that shouldn’t disturb the time-trialists too much.

Four teams are high up the favorites list: Zara, Glanbia, Red Bull and Minions. They have both the best riders, and a nice homogeneity between their riders. The exception might seem to be Red Bull, but they only have to drop Schönberger to be at level with the others.
Behind these four, four other teams might take some good points, or, in a very good day, even compete for the win. Cedevita and Voyagin are at level with the favorites for their best riders, but they might be lacking in depth. And Cedevita might also be lacking a relay. BWT and Project: Africa equal these two teams in terms of depth, so it’ll depend on who has good legs today.
The five last teams – all of these are CT teams – probably mostly are here for experience, are they are quite far behind the others.
In any case, one should never rule anybody out too quickly, so tune in tomorrow to see who indeed takes the win here.

Well, that's at least 10 points given that there only are 13 teams. Without Rekita and our TT numbers 3 through 5, anything higher than last place should be fine for once. Was hoping there would be few teams - looks like it was a pretty good bet.
Glanbia should look pretty good to really challenge the PCT teams here, otherwise I guess PCT should take the big points.

In preseason planning I meant to had Pogacar here and maybe that would be enough to challenge for a top 5, but I'm a rider short due to Tdf clash. No big expectations here, but as Fab pointed out it won't be a zero pointer.

Was also looking for some cheap points and looks like it will work, although agree PCT field is a little stronger than I hoped. I did spend 2 Warbasse days here which might have been a mistake as don't think he will help that much.

No idea what it is with us and TTTs this year, but we perform good every single time, 3rd place this time. Makes me wonder what could've been if Pogacar was here

This was the same lineup that won the Monterrey TTT a few weeks ago and took 2nd in the TTT stage in Vancouver. Guess I've found the perfect lineup combo for TTT.

Congrats to ivan, I guess adding Brändle to your team this year was a big move especially for those TTTs!
Not too happy about missing out on the Top 10, but given our lineup that doesn't come unexpected. And given the 30" gap to Podium Ambition, I guess just adding Rekita wouldn't have gained us a lot, so I'll be happy with taking more than minimum points here.
