Nakhon Ratchasima Trophy Preview
The Nakhon Ratchasima Trophy remains on the calendar for it's seventh running. The race has moved down a division to C2, which means the best sprinters and more from the Continental division are here to try and write their name on the honours list of the race.
| FLA | RES | SPR | ACC | Kanter | 75 | 73 | 79 | 80 | Guerao | 72 | 61 | 81 | 73 | Keough | 73 | 73 | 79 | 79 | Perera | 71 | 73 | 79 | 80 | Prasad | 74 | 74 | 78 | 79 | Willwohl | 73 | 67 | 79 | 78 | Gibbons | 75 | 72 | 78 | 78 | Guardini | 71 | 67 | 79 | 80 | Merlier | 73 | 72 | 78 | 74 | Nizzolo | 72 | 65 | 79 | 77 | Habtom | 75 | 75 | 77 | 78 | Wippert | 70 | 70 | 78 | 82 | Aberasturi | 73 | 69 | 78 | 76 | Bogdanovics | 73 | 69 | 78 | 77 | Tivani | 70 | 78 | 77 | 78 | Barbier | 75 | 71 | 77 | 79 |
Kanter has been in good form this season and is billed as the top favourite for this one. His closest competitors will be Guerao and Keough. The former is the fastest rider in the race but his aging legs can't always keep themselves at top speed for too long. Keough is another rider who's done well this season and will look to keep his team's promotion charge on track.
After that, it's anyone's race really, as the likes of Perera, Prasad, Willwohl, Gibbons and Guardini are all very similar, with a slight difference in strengths and weaknesses making it very hard to predict where each will end up!
Beyond that, one again, there's very little to separate the riders on the favourites' list!

Thanks Abhi
For Glanbia not much expectation here....Bennett won't be here.
That means Nelson is our sprinter and as you can see from the favourites' list he doesn't register.
Maybe a late attack by Dunne or Haas....
Good luck all

I'd like to see Nizzolo get a nice result here...Hard to see him getting better then a top 10 though unfortunately.
Good luck everyone!

Don't usually send Keough to classics, too afraid the attackers will take all the good points. But had some race days to spare. Thanks for picking up the report Abhi.

=)
Not too much a bad race for us, 11 for Sarreau is quite good.
I guess that seeing that with the pace, Guerao and Aberasturi would be out of contention, he went for himself and we have to be content with that.
The problem is, our direct competitors did way better than us, with often two riders in the top 10...
Thanks for the preview and the report Abi, and congrats Ulrich! |

Heartbreaking stuff for Habtom
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

OMG, Habtom give everything but still lose it at the end. No word can describe..........
Anyway, our team perform very well in this race with 3 riders in Top 16. Hope the best in next race |

Yeh look….
These one day sprint races haven’t exactly been our forte since letting Wippert go…Rajovic hasn’t raced one yet though so fingers crossed he continues his success in stage races to make up for days like this…

Although it's obviously not great news to lose the provisional division lead, I honestly love to see Keough win here and redeem himself after a really poor USA PCC! Congrats, Ulrich
And also glad Habtom is not riding for us this year - I'm not sure if my PC would've survived Still a great result for him, would've loved to see him win as well.
Great start of the month in any case for McCormick, Bianchi and also Glanbia, will be a great fight for those promotion spots! And thanks for the report, Abhi

Well that was a very pleasant surprise. Wasn't sure what Jellays was doing attacking given we had a good sprinter, wasn't sure Keough attacking made any sense and then it all worked by some miracle. Huge sympathy to Wildwind, I had resigned myself to 2nd before the last shot. And then to put two more in the top 15 was nice as well.
I am believer that things even out over the season for the most part, guess this is evidence of that.
