Having recently recieved the training question from SN, i was wondering if other riders who are at maximum exp level (4 max) gain any stats at all. I know from the age of 32ish they decrease, but if a rider is like 23 and max experience surely they go up some stats? If this IS the case, how is it decided?
Many thanks for any answers.

If one was to say, release riders at the end of the season could they be updated?

Yes, if you dont resign someone they become a free agent so may well get a stat update - but then if you want to resign them you will face competition from other teams.
But we are planning to bring in a initiative for riders currently in teams to have their stats updated to what they are in for example, Dankan's Real Name Package. It wont be free though.

That's a brilliant move. I don't really like having Maaskant with 68 in cobbles

I dislike the sound of it not being free. Why should teams have to pay for the usual increase found in riders over the years due to bodies maturing?

Think about it.
Lets say you bought Rider X in your management game team. You got him pretty cheap since his stats arent that impressive in the database. But since then, or since when the management game started, Rider X has progressed dramatically in real life and is now one of the best climbers in the world.
Since the database could not predict this, theres no way that Rider X could follow this increase in the management game - even with the normal stat increases from progressing experience levels. If you were able to gets the stats of this rider updated for free, then what a bargain for you. You got him cheap because noone else wanted him due to his stats, but now he has had a huge stats increase for free. Its not fair on the other teams is it?
By paying, it does make it fairer - particularly since the price you pay will probably depend on the size of stats increase. There will of course be certain rules to go with this - such as riders who have had stat decreases ingame will be ineligible for it.

Ah, you misunderstand what I'm saying is unfair.
I do not even pretend to think it's logical to update rider stats with real life (for free). I was under the belief that the management game and real life were two different games. What i was asking about was the normal increase.
So for example if a rider was clearly a sprinter, over say, every 2 years, they would gain 1 stat point in sprint, stamina and flat, if they were potential 3. Or once a year if they were potential 7. Merely an example.
I, personally, quite like the fact that real life and this game are seperate.

For now, the only normal stat increases come with experience levels being gained. So if a rider has level 4 and 100 XP at 21, his stats will remain the same for some 11 years before they start to decrease. Its not like real life where riders develop at a more even rate - it would be hard if not impossible to think up a fair way for stats to be gained by riders already at level 4 100 xp.

Maybe one way of doing it would be to spread out over 2 or 3 years a number of stat points.
IE.
potential 1 gets to spend 1 stat point every 2 years at lvl 4 max
potential 5 gets to spend 5 stat points every 2 years
Obviously some kind of limit would have to be put on where stats go. F.E. upto pot 4 only one stat point can be put on any stat, at potential 5 and above one stat can be increased by 2.
I don't know, i just think a bit more realism wouldn't go amiss.
Maybe this adding stats could also stop at around 28/9 years of age as well to prevent overpowering. Just thought id throw the idea out there.

Unfortunitley I don't know of any Db's that recognize Cozza for how good he is. Same goes for Euser, Stetina, Peterson, Caldwell, Frischkorn and Lewis
