Welcome to the Australian road race. McCarthy top favourite but BNZ has the numbers and I think Ewan is also a dangerous name on this profile.
Nice team effort by BNZ, as Scott and Watson reach the top of the penultimate hill together with 25” ahead of the peloton! There we see Roe and current national champion Howard attacking as well now! 11 km left!
Groves has joined the two chasers, and with 5 km to go they are trailing the BNZ duo by 18”! A group of favourites of 13 is another 40” behind, but is missing domestiques. Meyer just attacked there, but that might be too late.
Great job by Scott to deliver Watson under the flamme rouge, he accelerates now with a twelve second lead over the chasing trio!
And he holds on very well! Australian road title goes to BNZ, with Howard in second and Groves in third!

Time Trial
Three very strong Australian time trialists, let’s see who is able to take this one home.
Hepburn finishes in 1h04’18”, which is only three seconds faster than Roe and should not be enough for the win.
Howson is around one minute and a half faster! Enough for the title?
No! Current time trial champion Durbridge is exactly one minute faster than the green owl and prolongs his title for another year!
