Welcome to the 7th edition of the GP Kigali. This is a fan favourite race amongst a lot of managers as the riders take on the Kigali circuit featuring the Mur de Kigali. We have 16 laps over 183 km for the riders to traverse, finishing on the Mur. It's a cobbled classic where the ability to climb short hills is very important.
With that said let's look at some of the favourites:
| FL | HI | ST | RS | CB | SP | AC | Tsatevich | 74 | 77 | 74 | 73 | 75 | 75 | 75 | Naesen | 75 | 72 | 77 | 73 | 76 | 77 | 76 | Schoonbroodt | 72 | 75 | 75 | 73 | 74 | 68 | 72 | Van Keirsbulck | 72 | 71 | 75 | 73 | 78 | 70 | 68 | Declerq | 74 | 73 | 73 | 71 | 77 | 67 | 67 | Ovsyannikov | 72 | 68 | 74 | 72 | 74 | 77 | 76 | Jansen | 72 | 70 | 75 | 72 | 76 | 75 | 70 | Vanspeybrouck | 74 | 69 | 75 | 68 | 80 | 65 | 66 |
When it comes to cobbled races in CT, it's always Crabbe that is at the fore. With Tsatevich and Naesen they have two punchy cobblers that seem well suited to this profile. Schoonbroodt is not quite the top level cobbler, but he can climb very well. Van Keirsbulck, Declerq and Jansen are more the classic cobblers, not as punchy, but can still climb fairly well. Ovsyannikov is more of a sprinter and will hope for as easy a race as possible. Vanspeybrouck is a former winner and the best pure cobbler.
| FL | HI | ST | RS | CB | SP | AC | Thwaites | 73 | 65 | 74 | 70 | 76 | 78 | 76 | Riesebeek | 74 | 73 | 73 | 75 | 73 | 69 | 72 | Paprstka | 75 | 69 | 74 | 70 | 75 | 70 | 72 | Lindeman | 73 | 64 | 72 | 69 | 76 | 74 | 76 | Ariesen | 75 | 68 | 74 | 73 | 75 | 70 | 71 | Sweeck | 73 | 68 | 71 | 72 | 76 | 70 | 71 | Gamper | 75 | 66 | 75 | 76 | 76 | 63 | 71 | Matthews | 72 | 66 | 70 | 67 | 75 | 76 | 76 | Videika | 74 | 65 | 68 | 67 | 73 | 74 | 79 | Peng | 75 | 64 | 74 | 73 | 75 | 69 | 73 | Kaislavuo | 73 | 70 | 73 | 73 | 73 | 67 | 72 | Marcos | 74 | 73 | 71 | 65 | 74 | 65 | 70 |
Thwaites and Riesebeek give HelloFresh two more solid options. Paprstka was good in this race last year, so why not again? Lindeman is a good cobbler, but his hill stat leaves a bit to be desired. Gamper is arguably the strongest rider here when you take his resistance into account. Matthews is more of the sprinter type, while Aker bring 3 solid riders, where we're not sure who the leader is.
Full startlist:
Spoiler | Jansen | Amund Grondahl | Aker - MOT | | Bravo | Edison | Aker - MOT | | Peng | Yuan Tan | Aker - MOT | | Videika | Airidas | Aker - MOT | | Kaislavuo | Jesse | Aker - MOT | | Ngandamba | Geoffroy | Aker - MOT | | Ovsyannikov | Alexandr | Aramco DP | | Sureda | Jaume | Aramco DP | | Hesters | Jules | Aramco DP | | Kawasaki | Miori | Aramco DP | | Cardona | Julian | Aramco DP | | Sam | Henry Alberto | Aramco DP | | Vliegen | Loic | Bralirwa - Stevens | | Schoonbroodt | Bob | Bralirwa - Stevens | | Okbamariam | Tesfom | Bralirwa - Stevens | | Khederi | Souheil | Bralirwa - Stevens | | Hadi | Janvier | Bralirwa - Stevens | | Tesfatsion | Natnael | Bralirwa - Stevens | | Mulubrhan | Henok | Bralirwa - Stevens | | Debesay | Yacob | Bralirwa - Stevens | | Tsatevich | Alexey | Crabbe-CC Chevigny | | Naesen | Oliver | Crabbe-CC Chevigny | | Declerq | Tim | Crabbe-CC Chevigny | | Manakov | Viktor | Crabbe-CC Chevigny | | Ariesen | Tim | Crabbe-CC Chevigny | | Domene | Ramon | Crabbe-CC Chevigny | | Nareklishvili | Beka | Crabbe-CC Chevigny | | Van Tricht | Stan | Crabbe-CC Chevigny | | Meyer | Travis | Eddie Stobart | | Hugentobler | Gregory | Eddie Stobart | | Pushpakumara | Gihan | Eddie Stobart | | Agostini | Stefano | Eddie Stobart | | Lovik | asmund Romstad | Eddie Stobart | | De Tier | Floris | Eddie Stobart | | Moreno Hernandez | Salvador | Eddie Stobart | | Malacarne | Davide | Eddie Stobart | | Dunne | Conor | Eurosport x GCN | | Groves | Kaden | Eurosport x GCN | | Archibald | John | Eurosport x GCN | | Rutsch | Jonas | Eurosport x GCN | | Stedman | Max | Eurosport x GCN | | Doull | Owain | Eurosport x GCN | | Carr | Simon | Eurosport x GCN | | Hulgaard | Morten | Eurosport x GCN | | Van Keirsbulck | Guillaume | HelloFresh | | Redecker | Heiko | HelloFresh | | Thwaites | Scott | HelloFresh | | Riesebeek | Oscar | HelloFresh | | Stash | Mamyr | HelloFresh | | Gaspar | Joao | HelloFresh | | Kumara | Amith Udaya | HelloFresh | | Puccio | Salvatore | HelloFresh | | Gamper | Patrick | Lierse SK - Pizza Ullo PCTeam | | Verhelst | Louis | Lierse SK - Pizza Ullo PCTeam | | Biermans | Jenthe | Lierse SK - Pizza Ullo PCTeam | | Aleotti | Giovanni | Lierse SK - Pizza Ullo PCTeam | | Van Aert | Wout | Lierse SK - Pizza Ullo PCTeam | | Van Gils | Maxim | Lierse SK - Pizza Ullo PCTeam | | Verwilst | Aaron | Lierse SK - Pizza Ullo PCTeam | | Potocki | Viktor | Lierse SK - Pizza Ullo PCTeam | | Lindeman | Bert-Jan | Minions | | Sweeck | Laurens | Minions | | Marcos | Leandro | Minions | | De Witte | Mathias | Minions | | Selander | Bjorn | Minions | | Vansevenant | Mauri | Minions | | Nechita | Andrei | Minions | | Bjerg | Mikkel | Minions | | Paprstka | Tomas | Philips - Force India | | Bovenhuis | Jasper | Philips - Force India | | Lafay | Victor | Philips - Force India | | Moricz | Daniel | Philips - Force India | | Garcia | Jhojan | Philips - Force India | | Leemreize | Gijs | Philips - Force India | | Major | Jay | Podium Ambition | | Edmondson | Alexander | Podium Ambition | | Matthews | Darren | Podium Ambition | | Bridges | Jyme | Podium Ambition | | Hennis | Hasani | Podium Ambition | | Campbell | Akil | Podium Ambition | | Perez | Cristian | Podium Ambition | | Dekker | David | Podium Ambition | | Lavery | Philip | Tafjord Kraft | | Gogl | Michael | Tafjord Kraft | | Weiss | Martin | Tafjord Kraft | | Paulus | Daniel | Tafjord Kraft | | Johannessen | Anders Halland | Tafjord Kraft | | Hvideberg | Jonas Iversby | Tafjord Kraft | | Andersen | Idar | Tafjord Kraft | | Lunder | Eirik | Tafjord Kraft | | Dillier | Silvan | Team UBS | | Schäppi | Martin | Team UBS | | Grigrian | Artur | Team UBS | | Fominykh | Daniil | Team UBS | | Jacobs | Johan | Team UBS | | Cemazar | Nik | Team UBS | | Vanspeybrouck | Pieter | Trans Looney Tunes | | Keukeleire | Jens | Trans Looney Tunes | | Kolev | Iliyan | Trans Looney Tunes | | Abraha | Tesfay | Trans Looney Tunes | | Primozic | Jaka | Trans Looney Tunes | | Munoz | Cristian | Trans Looney Tunes | | Mudarra | Pablo | Volcanica - Fox | | Villalobos | Roman | Volcanica - Fox | | Jorgenson | Matteo | Volcanica - Fox | | Jurado | Cristofer Robin | Volcanica - Fox | | Rojas | Henry Antonio | Volcanica - Fox | | Rivera | Kevin | Volcanica - Fox | | Jimenez Retana | John | Volcanica - Fox | | Samudio | Joseph Ivan | Volcanica - Fox |

An easy race with a sprint for Ovsya would be perfect but I doubt that's what we're going to get. To be honest, I'd be pretty happy with a Top 10 while a Top 5 or better would be an outstanding result!
Thank for for the preview! Eagerly awaiting more dominance from Crabbe

Like the preview mentions, Paprstka was good in this race last season, so hoping for something similar. We really need a lift from somewhere...
Thanks for the preview red

Race of the year for us. We completely unravelled here last year with 16th as our best placed rider. Schoonbroodt has to do better than that this year and Okbamariam and Vliegen are strong supporters. Top 5 would be solid, win it and I'm giving out free Bralirwa beer to everyone

Mostly XP needs more than a competitive chance on the bumps. Still, Kigali always holds a fond place in my MG heart and it should provide some cracking action!

The cobbles team is very good in C2 races so I'm expecting a few points here

With 4 solid options, I really hope one of them can get a great race day. We got lucky in GP Herning regarding race days, where Jansen was on a phenomenal day, winning the race. Don't expect that, but we should compete for a top 10 on a normal day, which makes even more possible on a great day
Very cool to do this race for the first time. The Mur here is brutal, so I'm interested in seeing how the AI plays it out, and if it's for the strongest cobblers, or more for the allrounders. Think I favour the latter, making Tsatevich the clear favourite. |

Hopefully this report makes some sense. I had problems following the action and taking screenshots amid all the lapped riders.

Ack, I was close!
Tough puncture for Tsatevich there. The fact that he still got 5th shows how strong her was.
Very exciting race to read through, thanks redordead!

The lapped riders make this a really difficult race to report but I think you did a really good job. At least I always knew where Schoonbroodt was - unfortunately, not as close to the front as I had hoped 11th is not great, a good result here eludes us on this second occasion as well. Okbamariam in 15th place at least gives us a decent one two punch.
Congrats wj, always cool to win a goal race!

30th not what we wanted but not our strongest terrain.
Congrats to HelloFresh! Been saying that one a lot
Good report red! Always a difficult one to report when it comes to screenshots on circuit races but you've done a great job

Sweeck! What a ride!
Lindeman also good enough for some extra points. C2 cobbles are kind to us.
Thanks for the report redordead and congrats whitejersey!
