Changing database in a save

Some time ago i started a pro cyclist career with a database taken from the steam workshop, then i found a newer and better one but i don't want to lose my 7 in-game years career and create a new one. I tried to copy all the content in the newer database file and paste it in the older one, but there were no changes in the career. Has someone idea if what i'm trying to do is possible and, if yes, how to do it?

The db you want to edit once you started a career is your save game. The db you start off with becomes your save game and gets continuously updated. Making a small change like changing a team name would be easy enough, but I don't see any way to integrate a completely new db.
