A mini-update before the season concludes in Lombardia. If I have time later on I will add individual standings (post reserved below for that very purpose), but for now please enjoy a final glimpse of the team standings before the grand finale!
At the top Isostar have all but secured the title after Phinney's victory in Tasmania, but Evonik and Puma still have a battle for 2nd place to settle. The former would normally expect to be favourite with Lombardia ahead, but nothing is certain.
Similarly, close battles exist behind - Festina and Moser for 4th and 5th, and Gazelle and King Power for 6th and 7th. A strong performance by either of the latter duo could even make it a four way battle for 4th, so a lot to play for there.
Generali are the big gainers from the last update after a dominant ToNE, and they look relatively comfortable in 8th. But 9th to 12th should see some interesting battles, with Bennelong looking to ride the wave of a strong performance in Tasmania into the final top 10.
Behind them and we have Air France who will hope to join the battle for the top 10 with a good result in Lombardia, and then a quartet who should be safe barring something remarkable happening. Aegon's fantastic Maroc appears to have saved them unless UBS or Aker pull out something special, while cycleYorkshire and Rakuten will battle for pride in the fight for 20th.

Argh, that's closer than I expected it to be! Don't think Morton will pull a significant result in Lombardia (pretty sure he's our leader there) , as we used to struggle in this race with our kind of leaders (Bobridge too weak in such classics and Morton too slow and weak on hills). A few disappointing results probably cost us that Top-10 result, that we just can't manage to achieve!
Well. Maybe someone will prove me wrong in Italy

Rheden was too weak unfortunately to get that top 10 spot that we hoped for after the last update. Can of course hope for something special in Lombardia, but don't think we will score more than minimum points.
Both the relegation zone and the title looks more or less secured before the final race of the season. For us as a Norwegian team it's sad that Aker looks to be going down, so I'm cheering for them in Lombardia and hope they can finish it off in PT with style.

And yeah, we're going down. There's no reason to question that with only Lombardia left. A pity the rankings look to be settled in key areas, like the winner, the podium places and the relegation zone. The top 10 spots will be fought for, but I'm not sure how many teams involved have such a sponsor goal.

7th already would be a great result, but seeing how close it is to Gazelle in 6th I'm hoping for a great final race!
Crazy to think that my team was save from relegation with 4800 points last year and now two teams with more points will go down. |
