OK, so I have tested some of the training camps and they seem to give an unfair advantage. It's not fun if your rider has 85 in mountains while other rivals have 80. But is it different with pre-season camps or do they give an advantage over riders on other teams too? What's your policy on the use of training camps? |

Training camps are cheating
AI doesn't use them, so you gain an unfair advantage by using them. Hence the reason, it is cheating and I do not use them.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too. If the AI doesn't use it, I don't want to use it. But is it the same with pre-season camps too? |

Yep - any type of camp, you can use, but the AI can't

It is pretty much a way of incorporating doping into the game without Cyanide getting bad press for incorporating it.
It has the same effects as doping, but they don't call it doping as there could be legal action against them, so they just call them "training camps"

I guess I won't be using it then. |

I never thought of it that way, but yeah, you're right. |

I haven't played PCM 08 yet but my suggestion for equaling out the advantage of the training camps? Ramp up the difficulty, at least, that's what one guy on this site said, ramp it up, then you'll get a decent challenge even with training camps. You could say it's like you get a chance to dope up your riders, but if you set the difficulty higher, you are doping your opponents too. |

Well isn't that just to lower the difficulty and then raising it again?? Then it makes no sense at all. Why not just stop doing the training camps, or have I misunderstood?? |

No, you got it right. The problem with that theory is that AI get bonus points if you play on hard and extreme, but still nowhere close to what you can achive by using training camps. It's still like cheating. |
