In the C2HC division there is a mandatory time trial event, something not all teams agree with, but it gives a chance to the specialists to battle without inference of higher division. The Namibian capital of Windhoek hosts the seventh edition of this race and the second under the two-phase format, in which the aggregate time over two days is the final result.
Profiles
The riders have to ride the exact same route twice. It is just over 40 kilometer long and mostly flat, but has slight elevation towards the end. Whether this will have much impact remains to be seen, we should know after the first stage.

Only one former winner on the startlist, the first one: Ford is possibly the best time trialist but has some well documented flaws on other terrains which might cost him the win.
We have to go down quite a while to find the best rider from the last edition, the entire top nine either in higher division, not selected or out of contract. Downey finished tenth and is back for another shot.
French Champion Robert's best result is a third place in 2017. Improvement is surely possible, he is one of the favorites for the win.
Cruz has two top five classifications and is likely to add another. Hofer another rider who is very likely of a good result.
Stage racer Eastman participates in a race where there are no mountains. Nevertheless he is an accomplished time trialist and surely deserves a place amongst the favorites.
Other riders to watch out for are Van Baarle, Rekita and Marchewka. And who knows, maybe a total outsider can put out a huge performance.
Obviously hoping for a very strong performance here from Eastman who is certainly out of place without the mountains to help his overall chances. A couple other solid riders hopefully puts us in the running for a team award.
Great stuff from my team, 2nd is fantastic for Eastman there and should prove to be well worth the racedays he spent. 7th from Cheyne and 17th for Ortega is a great set of finishes for our team.
sadly Hofers god awful mtn and hil stats cost him the dub, 4th and 10 is 'ok' but not great, but Hofer wants to finish the season with 200 points looks like
