I didn't know whom to nominate, so many riders came to mind. And it's still a tough call, I'll give Carapaz my vote, the first Ecuadorian to win... well, just about anything.

Biggest surprise for me was Fuglsang. At the age he's at, I wasn't expecting him to become Alaphilippe level on the hills after being known more as a stage racer for most of his career, and also having the best year of his career now.
