GP Herning
Due to some suspicious names on the Kulczyk startlist, rumors of bribe paid directly into MGUCI private accounts, free F1 tickets and lightly dreeses women, Kulczyk will be ignored in this preview but will be allowed to race
Welcome to the 9th edition of GP Herning, first raced in 2008 but with no race in 2011, 2013 & 2014. To my knowledge this is the first time it will be raced as a C1 as it used to be HC, so there is no reason to look at former winners, just mention that last year it was Geraint Thomas (Podium Ambition).
The favorites will be cobblers as stones make up a large part of the route and we won’t see much undulation. Other skill coming into play could be flat, acceleration and resistance some stamina or even sprint it a group approach the finish line.
Kasperkiewicz and Maes seems to the those obviously contending for the top of the podium, Kasperkiewicz the best clean cobbler but with Maes very strong on the flat sections.
Taubel, Van Keirsbulck, Richardson and Orue all podium contenders, only that Orue’s lack of flat, acceleration and sprint may hurt him.
Van Keirsbulck relative good combo of acceleration and sprint making him very dangerous if not dropped closing in on the last km.
Manamalage and interesting outsider due to his very high speed on the asphalt, he can suck energy of anyone with that pace.
A lot other good cobblers here in Bolivar, Kosic, Jacobs, Corwin
A special mention to Kluge and Nepomnyachsniy due to their great finish, they will benefit a lot if this goes down as a waiting game.

Three high cobbles guys here for me, hoping for a solid set of points even if it doesn't come with a win.

Yeah, bad calendar planning, Kulczyk is off even worse apparently. Any points would be great.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

What?! Why can't Baugnies race this one?!
Thanks for seeing beyond my oversight MG team, I'm sure Jempy and Cominelli will enjoy their attempt at leadership.
Thanks for the preview Tamijo

Teubel and/or Young should be able top do well here. One rider in the top 10 should be doable.

I have two teams in this race, so I'll start with Carlsberg.
We have been trying to win this race for years. Finally, the MGUCI decided to get it out of our heads by dropping it down to C2. But this won't stop us. Ostergaard should be the one to win it anyway. Just has to attack!
Also, this seems like a fun time to not that 5 years ago, Ostergaard was tied for the best cobbler in CT, and now he is 17th best here.
For World Cycling Centre, we're mostly riding just to get the gets in a regional home race. Get in the breakaway if you can and enjoy the ride!
Thanks for the preview!

Mainly here for the XP, but Ghani and Taramarcaz are both getting a chance to shine so hopefully they take advantage of that.

After Philipsen in Belgium, another hot prospect is starting his professional carrer here in Denmark. This time, it´s Egan Bernal!
Obviously, competition seems to be more friendly this time, so I´m hoping for good racing form of Kosic or Domene. Some points gained here would be very welcome.
Thanks for preview Tamijo, looking forward the report!

Hoping for a good result from GVK who was out his depth last year in the PCT but shone massively last time we were in the CT!

Home race win!
In case anyone unfamiliar with the latest PCM edition wonders what happened there early: on high rated cobbled sectors (I'd say 4* and 5*), there's no real way of managing your effort anymore (at least for human controlled riders, but pretty much the same goes for the AI), you can dot at 5% effort and still get to 190bpm if your rider isn't a specialist.
So hitting a long, tough sector like this will inevitably bring the favorites to the front and see them just ride away when the weaker cobblers run out of energy, no strategy involved.

jeeez Østergaard, what a ride! 4th for GVK is a bit disapointing but it's still decent scoring so won't complain too much! Great report!

Really disappointed with the cobbles group I have, Orue did okay, but misfortune hitting Richardson really hurt after Corwin did some work up front reducing my Trio down to just a solo performance.

McCormick early season continues to far exceed my expectations. Manamalage with a great ride. Hopefully this isn't a fluke but even if it is I think this result probably makes his season. Congrats to Carlsberg, gave Oostergaard a little too much room.
Thanks for the report.

And in the cobbled classics in MG every cobbled section is 5 stars

Congrats Carlsberg, dream win for the team!
Very nice ride from Joseph in his last season for us. Some minor points from Verhelst as well, so probably our best race of the season!
Thanks for the great report, Tamijo!

Really? So stuff like Kuurne is now proper cobbles with no chance of a bunch sprint?
