Vilnius GP
Sveiki (hello) cycling fans from all over the world. You are currently witnessing a new event in the Continental Tour of cycling: A one-day team time trial race! Designed to give teams who dared to sign time trialists something extra, the MGUCI added a TTT to the calendar, and Vilnius happily decided to host it, having lost their flat classic a few years ago.
The profile shows that this race certainly won't be flat, though! 45,8 kilometers and four major hills, with time checks on top of two. This may be in the adventage of time trialists who are good at climbing hills, though its effects are hard to grasp when it comes to TTTs.
Because of this race, or perhaps just coincidentally, we can see that CT teams have a lot more depth when it comes to team time trials compared to previous years. An overview of the strength of the best five time trialists per team can be seen above.
When summing up these strengths, we can see that we can divide the teams in roughly three groups. The first one consists of the favourites: Teams who have gathered five or more competent time trialists. And there are a lot of those! Andorra is the strongest one, though Swisslion has the strongest time trialists who can drag along their weaker teammates. Adastra, Sauber, Bogota and Rothaus don't have much to split them and are all able to compete with the top two with good teamwork and a good day for the riders. Compal and GCN have a top time trialist but weaker depth and will likely look to sneak into the top 5.
Behind them two teams who lack enough top time trialists to challenge the better teams – assuming no miracles happen: Valio and DK Zalgiris. Followed by the teams who clearly didn't intend on building a strong TT squad, but except ENI-MOL all have a time trialist in their team. They will be aiming for depth points.

I would be happy with a top 3 result, given the shit show that has been our timetrialing this season.

Not expecting a lot as this is my weakest TTT setup for some seasons. Any points will be appreciated...

I feel personally offended to see a ttt in a baltic country...
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

This team's season turned to be great. And we started 2nd out of 18 teams, and won the event.

Another TT race where we didn't score, had way too many of those this season.
Congrats to Ivan and thanks Vien for the report

Was aiming for a top 5 so can't be too unhappy with 6th, it was enough to keep promotion hopes alive at least.
